The iPad could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish
Please help.
I've tried resetting my iPad several times and yet when I simply try to sync to iMac and deselect everything but music all I get is the message:
The iPad "J's Ipad" could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish.
I've tried everything - any advice would be gratefully received!
Thanks,
J.
Make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes. If not update and then try again. Of you still receive this error then attempt to backup the iPad. Then perform a restore from the backup.
The only time I have received this error was because iTunes was not updated to the most recent release.

Hi
I have an iPad mini and it was on iOS 6.1.3, my friend came and he said that he knows how to install iOS 7 for me. I gave it to him and he tried to install it, but apparently he failed to do so and an "Activation Error" is appearing on the screen now asking me to register in the developers program.
Now, we are trying to restore it back to iOS 6.1.3 using iTunes, the software downloads well and it starts restoring but that I keep getting this error message "The iPad could not be restored because the firmware file was corrupt.".
I am sure that the file is not corrupted because it's downloaded via iTunes regular download and it's not from an outside source.
I am stuck with this now and my iPad is useless this way.
Please any suggestions ?basselsamo wrote:

Yes, don't download Beta Software that you have no business or legal right to download and quit taking bad advice from friends.
Now to maybe get you out of the restoring jam, the only thing that I can think of that might work is to use recovery mode, unless you already tried it and it didn't work.
You can read about it here, but the instructions are posted below.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.

The iOS 7 beta has expired. Since you had it, you were obviously a developer.
You need to log on to the Developer Forum with your developer credentials, where you will find information on how to reactivate your phone.
Discussion of beta software is prohiibited on this general forum.

so then i tried intsalling a stand alone if apple mobile device support (amds) but still it doesnt work
Did you get an error message when you did the standalone AMDS install? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.) -
I powered my iPad off and when I turned it back on it is telling me to reconfigure it. So I select English then United States then I selected my WiFi then message comes up that says your iPad could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. Have tried several times and it is still not working. Nothing will show on screen on icons nothing.
Try to Update your iPad to iOS 6.1.4 when connected to iTunes via USB too.. You do not need to touch anything on your iPad to update your iPad either..

Hi Friends...
I’m trying to delete a back-up file on mu TC but I get the message “The operation could not be completed because the item “bands” is in use. I’d like to start the Back from scratch, could help me out with deleting the current file?Sorry, I am very confused. I asked the following question....
Is this the only backup file on your Mac, or do you have other backup files and data on the Time Capsule disk?
The answer that you gave was....
This is the only one
Now you are saying that....
But I have lots of other files on Time Capsule! The back up file is only one of them.
Can you clarify, please? -
I recently reset my computer and copy my music from an external hard drive to my itunes library. When I click on a song to play i get an error message that says " the song could not be used because the original file could not be found". But when I have my external hard drive plug in the song will play with no problem. What do I need to do to play my music without having the external harddrive plug in ???????? Please help
Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive. If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down. You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes. Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked. You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library. iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.
Shouldn't have any more problems... -
I have an iPod Classic and work on Windows 7.
i recently installed iTunes 10.5 update and since then i cannot play any of the songs in the Library - i get the following message
"The song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
what happened to all my songs (almost 2000) How can i get them back into my music library?
Please help - i do not want to spend another week downloading all my cd's onto my computer !!!!!Try my script FindTracks. Select a few of the missing files to start with then run the script. Choose No at the first prompt so that you can check how it works track by track, then confirm or edit the location of the media folder where your files are. Once you are happy with how it behaves let it process larger numbers of tracks automatically.

The iPod could not be updated because the firmware file was corrupt.
So i kept having this problem in this thread here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1226490&tstart=255
I decided that maybe doing a Restore on my iPod would maybe sort it out however i got that message "The iPod could not be updated because the firmware file was corrupt." when trying to restore. I then searched apple and found out that deleting the 'iPod Software Updates' folder would sort it out, it didn't.
Now what's happening is when i try to restore it comes up saying i have to download this iPod Software 1.2.1 for iPod so it downloads and then when it's finished i'm still getting the error message saying the firmware file is corrupt.
What can i do now? any help appreciated please.this article actually sorted this problem out for me: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304996
just to let you know -
Recently bought a new computer and all my music appears in iTunes as well as on my computer in a saved folder. When I try to play the music in iTunes I get an error that reads"the song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" Hope you can help me solve this issue.
Thanks,
ShellybooThis happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
