The Iphone 3G compacbility
Please give Iphone 3G the home theme wall paper its just makes me sad that i cant do that ... when other phones can putting their favorite wallpaper on their home screen. I wish you guys can make a new update for iphone 3G and thanks heaps.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. How can I stop the sharing on the iPhones that are on my account because its sharing everything even text messages and its driving everybody crazy
An icloud account is designed to be used by one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
If you have muitiple family members or friends using the same account as yours, then have them get their own Apple IDs and icloud accounts.
If you mean you want to stop the sharing between all your devices, then on any one device, go to Settings>icloud and turn off the services you don't want that device to share/sync. Or turn off icloud altogether if that's what you want. -
I want to use the same account for all my apple devices (macbook air, imac and iphone). I can't see how I can amend the iphone account because it is in grey? I also can't remember the password for this account so i can't even delete it and start again?

ThanksDeleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud. In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens. Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device. It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days. When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question. However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days. When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload). Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this. If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account. -
I have one apple ID for both my Iphone 4S and Ipad. My Ipad was stolen from me and when I checked the iCloud, it can only locate the Iphone 4S. How can I locate the Ipad device?

You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely. -
Can i use my husbands upgrade for the iphone 6 promotion
My line is technically not eligible for upgrade, but my husbands line is (we are on a family plan with my mom). Last time I upgraded, they let me use my husbands upgrade since his was available. Can I do this for the iphone 6 promotion or will they not allow it?

Is there a way to selectively edit a conversation in iMessages instead of clearing the entire conversation? Like you can do on the iPhone for instance.

Can someone please explain and help me? I am unlocking an iphone4 from at&t to use it on the straight talk network. They've confirmed my request to do this and I am now a little confused as to what to do next. They want me to back up the phone using itunes on either a MAC or PC. I do not have an aplle computer but I do have an acer. Sooo, can I use it to do this? Or do I even have to do this to unlock and switch the iphone4 over to a new network? If I do have to what can I do to do this because like I said I do not have a computer by apple? Can anybody walk me through what I need to do next please? I've been waiting to do this for a very long time and I now have the option to have an iphone and use it. Thanks to my awesome boyfriend who Gave me his old iphone when he swapped back to an android. Hahahaha! Please anybody!? Because I sooo don't know what I'm doing and really do not want to mess the phone Or the process up. Thanks to any and all who read this and help me! Install iTunes on your Acer and you can back up the iPhone. Or back it up to iCloud. If you do not back it up you can get it unlocked, but you will lose all of your content.

Even after unlocking I'm not sure it will work on Straight Talk, because last time I checked ST used Verizon as its carrier, and an AT&T iPhone 4 is not compatible with Verizon's network. You can probably use it on Net 10 or T-Mobile once it is unlocked. -

Please let Apple know that a weekly view on the calendar for the iPhone would be something you would desire.

Thanks!I also travel white a bit with my iphone. The situation, as I understand it, is that you can enter events on the mac with the time zone specified (i.e., I can enter a conference call at 2 PM CST regardless of my current time zone) and the mac and the iphone will both set the correct event time based on my local time. With time zone support turned on, both the mac and iphone will adjust the event time based my actual time zone so I will call at the correct time (that part works perfectly).
The challenging part is that the iphone will not let me enter events in other time zones. If I happen to be in EST and want to enter an event for 2 PM CST, I have to enter it for 3 PM on the iphone. If I travel to CST, the event will move to 2 PM; if I travel to MST, the event will move to 1 PM so that part also words correctly. The only real problem is the inability of the iphone to schedule events in other time zones without them being manually adjusted, the addition of a time zone field in the event edit screen (just like ical on the mac) would make it much easier to use. -
After getting iCloud the iCal on my mac does not sync with my iPhone calendar. All of my calendar notes are in my iPhone (while the mac's Ical remains empty) so I need to backup the iphone version. How?
Itunes says that "your calendars are being syncronized with iphone using icloud" - but the mac's ical does not show any of the new events I have added on my iphone.
I would like to install the new update on my iphone, but I am afraid to do it without knowing that I will be able to restore my iphone calendar. I have made calendar events for many years to come, I and will not risk losing them!
I have been looking for tips online, but the solutions usually suggest that I backup the ical on the mac and start fresh using this version. In other words overwrite iphone calendar with the ical from the mac. Which is not an option. What can I do?Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.
When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.

My new iPhone 5 is currently having problems with the wifi. I can't connect to my home network unless I am right next to the router. Even then there are only one or two bars. When I am in a public place like Starbucks, I can't find any wifi networks. I plan on bringing it to the Apple Store and getting it replaced. Can I just get the iPhone replaced, or do I need to replace everything (box, manuals, headphones, etc)?
all you need to bring is the phone that is all they need to replace then that is all you need

While upgrading iPhone OS from 5.1 to 5.1.1 on Win 7 using iTunes 10.6.1.7, the iPhone hung. I could not get iTunes to find it and Win 7 does not see it.
When I connect the iPhone to the USB, Win 7 issues the welcome sound, but that is it. The same happens when I disconnect iPhone.
The Devise Manager has the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver correct without any problem. I updated this driver called usbaapl64.
The iPhone is still hung.
I restarted the iPod service
I restarted the Apple Mobile Device Service
I tried to empty and delete the temp directory in C:\users\myname\AppData\Local\ but could not
The iTunes I am using is the latest version
I updated the Apple Mobile Device Driver as stated above correctly
The iPhone is still hung and is not recognized by Win 7 or iTunes, so I cannot restore the OS to the previous working version
What else can I do to restore the previous working OS on my iPhone 4I was connecting the iPhone 4 to a USB 3.0 port. I was told by Apple Express Support (at US$29.99) not to use USB 3.0 and to use USB 2.1 instead.
If you are connecting your iPhone to the computer using a USB 3.0 port, disconnect it immediately. iPhones will lock up if you try to update while using a connection through a USB 3.0 port.
Disconnect the iPhone from the computer
Go to Device Manager and find the connected USB port. Click the mouse right button and update the driver
Shut the iPhone by pressing the sleep button and the home button concurrently for some time
Move the USB cable to a USB 2.1 port or older without the iPhone.
Restart iTunes.
Connect the iPhone
Your computer should recognize the phone and reloads the correct USB 2.1 driver (Apple Mobile Device)
Then iTunes should recognize the iPhone and starts reloading the firmware.
When that is complete it may ask if you wish to restore, naturally you say YES
iTunes will restore the iOS
Using iTunes, restore the latest backup to get your data back.
When all of the above is completed. Start enjoying your iPhone.
If the above does not work. Throw your iPhone out of the window and get a replacement Android phone. -
im trying to update to newest ios version. but during the proccess, an unknown error accured, now the device wont do anything, just shows the plug into itunes screen. the device does not show in windows or itunes. the iphone wont do anything. i tried restarting, it shuts off and back on, but only shows plug into itunes thing. any ideas?
From my experience, the only way you're gonna get a PC afflicted with this disease to work with a 5th gen nano is to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes. Those affected have been exhausted by this ongoing issue. To update or not to update? And I always say never update unless you have to, and turn off all that auto update mess!
I have two core2duo lappies running 32b vista. My workflow dictates 32b fyi. One is acer aspire running itunes v 11.1 (.0.126), 5th gen nano was originally formatted and works just fine on this machine to this day. My other is the bigger badder lenovo thinkpad and the 5th gen will NOT mount using any version of itunes past 11.0 (.1.12) Windows mounts it just fine. itunes is not having it. no shirt no shoes no service.
I have both a 4th and 5th gen nano. The 4th gen works great on both machines, I even successfully tested it with the latest version (11.1.5) before subsequent deletion on the thinkpad! Weird huh? I think my next experiment might be to restore my 5th gen w/ a Mac and theeeeen plug it into PC itunez.
I'm at a loss on the thinkpad. Scanned for intruders. Cut the Lenovo bloat. Executed system and reg maintenance. Took down msconfig to a safe mode + itunes level to attempt to resolve possible sw conflicts but to no avail. NO NO NO. Every single dang port, every time on the thinkpad. Has me feeling like others might get the same treatment by the next itunes update. :|
So in summary for me:
5th gen nano and thinkpad are a NoGo on 11.1^ last working version for me = 11.0.1
5th gen nano is working on an acer aspire 11.1.0 but no way in the world am I updating
4th gen nano is kicking 5th gen nano's @zz so what would make me want to buy a new ipod? -
When I went to download some pics (originally taken with my iphone 4S) from my computer back to my iPhone I got the following error message: "iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPhone "Peter's iPhone". Do you want to keep or remove photos previosly synced to your iPhone?"
Coincidentally, my wife just purchased an iPhone 4S and syncs to iTunes on the same computer.
Any ideas?
PeterThe "best" way to handle it, if you want to keep everything separate, is to create separate user accounts on the computer. make sure you log into your account on the computer before you attempt to sync your phone and log out when you're done using the computer.
Though it's possible to sync both of them to the same iTunes library, and even share an account for the iTunes store, you're inviting confusion and possible data loss (as you've discovered already). Best to just use separate user accounts on the computer. That also gives you the benefit of not polluting the other persons browser favorites, contacts, etc. -
Just because the iphone 3g is no longer sold, doesnt mean people still dont own it.
i am not happy with apple, i bought the iphone 3g when it came out and now since they have a newer iphone they can just cut off there services to the iphone 3g??!!! like just cause its older doesnt mean people dont own them anymore. my phone is always glitching out, or a lot of apps i cant get cause its not compatible with this iphone. in my opinion thats dumb. i cant afford to just go out and buy a brand new iphone for 800$!! like really? just cause apple stops making it they can just not have updates for the 3g phone that lots of ppl still own??....
Think yourself lucky you've still got a phone that works and has been supported by Apple for as long as it has.
Many Android phones receive no updates whatsoever past the version that comes on the device, or are made obsolete within months of purchase.
Apple has given you many free OS updates and a good couple of years of support. Before you start complaining, you should check what other manufacturers would have given you, if you'd bought their phones.
