Is this a Windows error? If so, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. If you do, try reinstalling iTunes. If that doesn't work, try manually starting the service.

I received the error, "This iphone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device Service is not started". Anyone else having this issue? My iPhone is a 3GS and the current revision of iTunes is 10.4.0.80. Thanks!
