  • IPod cannot be synced. Required file not found?

I havent had any trouble syncing my ipod until last week when i purchased a song. When i dragged the song to a playlist on my ipod, it appeared grey in my playlist (because it was still loading) and then disappeared. I repeated this until i gave up and I reported this as an issue to itunes. When i tried again it worked and i thought maybe the problem had fixed itself, but i tried to add a CD to my ipod a few days ago and it only synced half of the songs. Now when i try to sync the leftover songs an error box pops up saying "The iPod (name of ipod) cannot be synced. Required file not found."
Some songs will sync perfectly normal, some load but disappear, some eventually just sync, and some won't sync at all. Has anyone had this problem/ can anyone help SOLVE it? please and thank you!!!

    Try this:
    Let your iPod charge up.
Attempt to sync a large play list.
When the iPod shuts down and you get the error message, quickly click through the dialog boxes on iTunes so when the iPod comes back up iTunes will attempt to sync again.
When the sync starts again after the iPod reboot, click the little X in the bar that shows how many tracks have been loaded. This will stop the sync and you'll be able to eject your iPod.
After it's been ejected, unplug the connector from the iPod and see what happens to the battery indicator. Mine goes down to almost gone and red - then after a few minutes it comes up to about 2/3 strength - but it should be full after being fully charged and just syncing a few hundred tracks.

  • Unable to sync iPad; Required File Cannot be Found

I'm not able to sync my iPad to my Mac. Each time I try to sync I receive the message "The iPad cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found".
I tried the Restore option in iTunes, but continue to have to same issue. I've been syncing the iPad almost every week since I got it and just started about the same time as iTunes was upgraded.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

It seems that your iPod/iPhone/iPad photo cache got corrupted.
    Go to your iPhoto library
Right click and choose show package contents
Delete the folder "iPod Photo Cache"
    Close iPhoto Contents folder
Restart iTunes and re-sync. This should solve the problem.
Your iPhoto library will be re-optimised for syncing to your preferred device.
    Hopes this solves your problem.

  • The ipod could not be synced. the disc could not be read or writtern to

    Hi,
I am having some major problems with my Nano. I upgraded to the new firmware through the new iTunes about 10 days ago, but now it just doesn't work all I keep getting is the above message. What is upsetting me is that it worked fine until this firmware update.
I have tried following the other advice including resetting it, I have also tried factory restting it through iTunes and it still doesn't want to work.
I am running XP Pro SP2, and you cannot see the Ipod in the list of attached disc drives.
Please help as my nano is now useless.
    Thanks

  • The ipod could not be synced. the required folder could not be found?

    Please help
I have tried to restore my itunes but now cant sync keep getting the above error, i have tried all the fixes

    Hi,
        What i would  suggest is ;
    You disconnect your ipod
    you connect it again
    then you format your ipod.
    after formatting it will reset.
You then select your language and plug it in again.
you may have to restore it again or maybe not.
Then you set your ipod name and sync settings.
You ipod should sync this time no probs.
Try this method and let me know how far it goes.
I just did this and it works perfectly.
I was stuck on this problem for about 4 hrs but i figured this out, if it works see if you can spread this.
    Thanks

  • Iphone 4 cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found

Tried to sync my iphone 4, but this error comes up.  Cannot be synced.  Required file cannot be found. Please help.

The problem is itunes lacks the permission to get into the folder that it defaults the library where the items have to be in order to be synced to your device. So what you need to do is to go into my computer and click on your local disk( usually its C.) and without clicking anything else right click and it will bring up a menu go down to new and add a new folder by the name of itunes media or something. Once you have the folder, open itunes and go up to edit at the top and prefereances. go to the advanced tab and the first thing will be an area showing the location of your itunes media folder. That is the location itunes lacks permission to get to, so what you are going to need to do is go to click change, that will bring up a location for you to change it to. At that point simply find the folder that you created which should be right inside your local disk(not inside any other folders) then just put all your stuff you want sent to itunes here and you are set.

  • Required file cannot be found to update ipod

required file cannot be found to update ipod
I recently had my hard drive crash and lost everything. I had all my music and photos on my ipod photo 60GB. I used a free version of ipod agent to transfer all my music and photos from the ipod to the pc (operating system XP). I placed all the music and photos on a back-up internal F drive, Which successfully worked. I then installed i-tunes. My music and photos were transfered into the new i-tunes program and I could play them. however, some songs were not transfered due to a message saying the songs were not authorized to play on this computer. When I tried to up-date my i-pod ,a message came back saying the ipod could not be updated because required files cannot be found. I then used ipod updater and retored the ipod to factory settings and deleted all the music on it. I also deleted all music in the itunes program and re-installed i-tunes. After re-installing i-tunes and ipod with all new updates, I again placed all music from my back-up drive F. Only 5,645 out of 7,255 were recognized. All my photos did transfer over correctly. A message said the others were not copied because they were not authorized to play on the computer. I got to this point twice and started to transfer the songs. but both times when copying music, by the time artists in the Cs' came a message came-up stating "the ipod could not be updated the required file cannot be found" My questions 1. why can I see the songs in the "f" drive and p[lay them from there but not have them all transfer into i-tunes? 2. What file I'm I missing that enables me to update my ipod? The message does not tell me the specific file
ipod photo color 60g Windows XP

The missing files referred to are the music files themselves, i.e songs.
Have you told iTunes where to look for your music folder? Go to edit/preferences/advanced/general and look at the location in the box 'iTunes Music Folder Location'.
Also, you may need to authorize the computer for any iTunes purchased music.

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

Try deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder.  This is normally located in your pictures folder.  Once this is done, try syncing again.

I have NO photos on my Ipod Nano.  I select "Photos" and the Ipod goes to a blank screen with the msg "No Photos" at the bottom.  There must be some other file missing.  Itunes won't connect to the Ipod, I keep getting the same error over and over.  It would be nice if it told me what file is missing.

  • IPod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found - Aggghh!!!!

I have a new iTouch, which is fine, I am just having a very, very bad experience of iTunes., in fact so bad it may go back to apple soon and I shall dust off my old Creative Zen
    The Problem:
When I try to sync any music, audio book or photos, the message comes up:
" iPod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found" and nothing is synced,
It syncs my contacts and calendar from Office Outlook fine, and the alarm works on the appointments.
I think I have tried just about everything, I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, done the whole Restore option in ITunes.. run the Diagnostics and all passes fine. I have searched the form and found another answer mentioning security issues, but mine have not changed. It is not the compatibility of photos or DRM with the music, I have tried a single music file (of my own song) and a single compatible photo.
Googled the darn problem and there seem to be as many differing views on the problem as there are computers out there, from my hard drive being screwed (which it is not) to a registry file missing.. Tried all but…..
Well if anyone can come up with an answer they can expect a very large thank you!!!
    Any answers?
    Thanks
    Stewart
