The Ipod touch backup has filled my computer where is it so I can delete it

The Ipod Touch backup has filled my computers hard drive where is it so I can delete it???

Where are iTunes backups stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press Return.

I am aware that the iPod Touch 5g has no official date yet, on the site it only says: Available to ship: October. But, does anyone know what a possible, date for the iPod to be released? :)

Well, I recently checked apple.com, and the "pre-order" button has been replaced with the "buy now" button. This is a very good sign that the iPods will begin to ship soon! There is still no exact date, but I expect that they will ship within the next 3 days. You should get an email when they have shipped.
    Take care!

  • Does the ipod touch 4g has GPS

Does the iPod Touch 4G ( 2011) have GPS? I was thinking of purchasing Navigon because I read an article stating Navigon works offline.
    Thanks

    No ipods have GPS.
    Sorry.
Ipod touches determine location by using the registered address of the wi-fi routers to which they are connected.

  • The iPod Touch 4G is supposed to have 256MB of Ram, but mine can barely reach 90.

I am well aware that the iPod Touch 4G is supposed to have 256MB of ram, but when using ram checking applications, I can barely get 90. I have had the iPod since it launched, but have taken good care of it. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Anything I can do?
    Thanks!

The apps tell you how much free RAM you have, not how much total physical RAM the iPod has.

  • My iPod touch 3g has over 200 apps with no icons.  How can I remove those apps?

I am very frustrated by this, I cant seem to find an answer online.  When using the spotlight search, I can access all these apps (200+), but they have no icons on the home screen.  I tried connecting to itunes, but I cant find a way to access these apps from there either.  Id like to free up the space on the ipod touch.  Any advice will be very appreciated.

No, I have 3 pages of 20 icons of apps.  When using spotlight search, I can access hundreds more apps (iPod is 5 yrs old) but those apps don't have icons on the home screen so I can't delete them. For example, in spotlight search, I type a "B", 50 apps appear in the list that begin with "B".  Theres an app called "Beat the traffic". I can use the app. But it has no icon to make shake and delete.

  • How Do you set up the IPod Touch to your pc home computer - when it asks for a password - what password is needed?

I just received an IPod Touch for a gift. Have a home computer through Charter. Have wi fi with pc at home.  I am unable to get the Ipod to work with the pc and wifi.
Wi fi is on - At choose a Network - Have the option of t.dillow and other.

I cannot get my email either.
How do I get the IPOD to connect to my wifi and enable to use mail through Yahoo account?

You need the password for your network/router. Sometime the dfault password is on a sticker on the router.  As the person who controls/set up the router.

  • How can I recover texts & contacts on iPhone 5c after syncing it with an old iPod touch backup?

I used to have an old LG flip-phone and an iPod Touch. I lost the iPod Touch about six months ago. This week I got my iPhone. I had to go to the Verizon store to have them take all the contacts off the LG phone and put them onto my iPod.
I had painstakingly pared down my iTunes music library to choice selection of checked items that were small enough to fit on the iPod touch. I didn't want to go through that process again, so I hooked my iPhone up to my computer for the first time, opened iTunes, and synced with the iPod touch backup on my computer. It would have been smart to have backed up the iPhone first, but I didn't. Since I couldn't text with the iPod Touch, it didn't occur to me that the existing texts on my iPhone would be overwritten.
Now all the media files and apps from my old iPod Touch are on my new iPhone 5. The new iPhone apps I downloaded yesterday are on there, too. But the contacts and texts have vanished.
To review: no iTunes backup of iPhone data. No iCloud backup, either-- I've never used iCloud before.
I downloaded Wondershare's iPhone Data Recovery program and used it to scan data on the device. The scan shows 0 contacts and only the 2 text messages that I've received this evening. Curiously, it does have my entire call history from the last week.
So is there any way to recover the texts from this last week?
This seems pretty hopeless but I thought I'd try. Thank for your help.

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

  • IPhoto opens even when the iPod Touch is not connected

I came across discussions on the iPod Touch and issues with iPhoto and am hoping that a solution can be found for my problem.
My 13 year old step-son visited over the Christmas/New Year and was plugging his iPod Touch into and out of our Mac laptop. In fact, we believe that he was doing the very same thing described in this reply regarding: "...the result of downloading a photo in Safari on the iPod (or taking a screen shot). The file is stored locally on the device, however when it is connected to your computer, iPhoto will open thinking that the iPod is a digital camera/memory card..."
We noticed that iPhoto and not iTunes opened whenever he plugged in the iPod Touch and told him not to download any pictures onto the Mac. We are not sure if iTunes ever opened. Well, he's gone now and every time we turn on the laptop now, iPhoto automatically opens up even though there are no devices connected to the laptop.
We are also experiencing video distortion of the computer screen when waking it from sleep. To get the computer to work again, we have to force shut down by holding down the power button. So, basically, we now cannot allow the computer to go to sleep! We believe that this has something to do with the iPod Touch having been used on our laptop.
During an entire day of trying to figure out what could be wrong with the computer (and we are not avid computer users!) we found that in the System Preferences - desktop and screen savers module, the entire iPhoto library is there along with the standard screen savers. We are not sure if this is supposed to be? We tried deleting the library of pictures in the screen savers module but were unsuccessful.
All was fine before and now we're having no end of troubles since the departure of our little one and his iPod Touch! Help!!!

    Ok, thanks so much

  • How can I put my music from my ipod touch on my new Laptop computer????

I just purchased a laptop and I would like to put all my music from my ipod touch in to my new laptop. When I try to sync, I get a message that tells me all my music will be deleted! What can I do?
    Thanks,
    Matt

You should move the music from your old computer to the new one then sync. The ipod touch is not a backup device.
You should always have a backup. If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup (bad idea), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:
    Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
The ipod touch will sync with one computer at a time. When you sync to a different computer, it will erase the current content from the ipod first, then replace with content from the new computer.

  • Ipod touch backup folder

I am trying to find the location of the ipod touch backup folder. All info i have seen shows where the iphone backup folder is, but no information on the ipod touch backup folder.

On my iMac, it is in the same folder. There are 2 folders within the MobileSync/Backup folder, one for my iPhone and one for my iPod Touch.
    On a Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    On a PC running Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
On a PC running Windows Vista: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

  • Ipod touch not detected by my computer

My Windows XP SP3 is not able to detect iPod Touch 4G. Please help. iTunes displays it fine.

    You're welcome.
It isn't copy and paste. It is manually dragging music and videos from your iTunes library to your iPod Touch under Devices in the iTunes source list. To remove music and video from the iPod Touch, open the iPod Touch under Devices in the iTunes source list to select and delete music and video from the iPod Touch.
Tfe downside with this is if you restore the iPod Touch with iTunes if wanted or needed. With Sync Movies, TV Shows, Music, and 3rd party apps selected and used instead, your selections under the various tabs for your iPod Touch sync preferences with iTunes will be selected automatically when restoring with iTunes rom the iPod Touch backup. With manually managing music and videos, you must remember which music and videos were previously transferred to your iPod Touch and manually drag all back to your iPod Touch. And it isn't possible to manually manage 3rd party apps, which must be synced, so you are syncing anyway.
With sync music selected, after downloading a song with your iPod Touch, the song will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPod Touch with iTunes after doing so.
The same applies with movies if you download a movie direct with your iPod Touch, and with 3rd party apps with Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPod Touch sync preferences with iTunes.
You are much better off all the way around by syncing instead.

  • Does the ipod touch 4th gen's screen have IPS like the iphone 4's?

So I heard somewhere that the ipod touch 4g's screen does NOT have IPS.
For those who don't know what IPS is, this is apples description of it:
"The iPhone 4 Retina display uses technology called IPS (in-plane switching) — the same technology used in the Apple LED Cinema Display and iPad — to achieve a wider viewing angle than on typical LCDs. Which means you can hold iPhone 4 almost any way you want and still get a brilliant picture. That’s perfect when you’re sharing photos with a friend or moving your iPhone around while playing a driving or flying game. In addition, the Retina display offers four times the contrast ratio of previous models, so whites are brighter, blacks are darker, and everything is more beautiful."
Is this true? Because I also heard that the two main things people wanted from the ipod touch were the camera and the retina display. And those are the only two things that seemed to get cheaply upgraded. Does anybody know if the ipod touch 4g has IPS?

No need to double post! It has been said by Engadget that it is TN, but Apple has not to my knowledge released the specs. Only difference between TN and IPS is the viewing angle. A few hands on reviews that I seen said there was no distinguishable differences between their iPhone 4's and the iPod Touch 4 with the exception of the viewing angle.
I am amazed at how people will latch on to this stuff and make an issue about it, yet have never actually seen the freaking thing! LOL Just like no one has seen photos taking with the camera.
The iPod Touch 4 IS what it IS, folks will either buy it or not. I am booking that a lot that say they aren't going to buy it do anyway and of course this thing is going to be a big seller regardless of all these supposed poor upgrades.

  • Will Siri be available to the ipod touch in IOS 6

ive heard rumors that siri will be available to the iphone 4 on the ios 6 update but im not sure if that goes for the ipod touch.

Apple has said that Siri will be available only on the iPhone 4S and new iPad. So it would seem unlikely that Apple will ever offer Siri in the current models of iPod touch. But none of us here can speak for Apple, so we cannot say with certainty.

my ipod touch has a usb cable picture with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo. the ipod will not connect to a computer and is unable to be turned off as there is no red power slider when the power button is pressed. what can i do to fix this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
