The iTunes Store blocked by ATT?

I try to install the twitter app twitterrific in twitter.com. But I found I can't access to phobos.apple.com. Then I do a tracert to that ip and found it seemed it is ATT blocked my request. See tracert result below:

Could any guy in apple give an answer?

Even if Apple technicians answered here, which they don't, they couldn't help you with an block by AT&T or any other ISP. You need to talk to AT&T if they're indeed blocking the access for some reason. Note, though, that a failure of a trace doesn't necessarily mean that the connection is blocked for anything other than the trace; many organizations for security reasons block traces, pings, port scans and other probes. Apple uses a distributed server network run by another company to handle the load of the iTunes Store and I don't believe any of that network can be scanned.
More likely your connection problem stems from some firewall or privacy filter, on your system or on your network (such as in a router), though it could be a temporary problem with your ISP (which happens from time to time).

  • Cannot connect to the iTunes store. Get 'Error 11222'. Claims it is being blocked by Windows Firewall when it is allowed through.

When an external application tries to connect to it through iTunes I get 'Error: 11222'. When I try to connect through the iTunes app it just continuously loads but nothing appears. Diagnostics says that Windows Firewall (Which is being managed by McAfee) is blocking it, even though it is allowed through both firewalls I have. Even when I turn WF off iTunes claims it is being blocked by it. I have done almost everything Apple's support pages have suggested but nothing has worked. I'm using it on an Acer Aspire laptop, and the main PC can use iTunes without trouble so it isn't the ISP. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice. Here is a full diagnostics:

The 11222 errors can sometimes be produced by LSP trouble. One of the suspects with that is some versions of McAfee Family Protection. For troubleshooting advice, see the following document:

or it is a question of internet blocks as i am living in china or is something else someone could help me with

If you're referring to the iTunes in the Cloud feature, music is only available via the feature in the US right now. So you cannot at this time re-download your music (due probably to licensing issues with the distributors in the various countries). You'll need to restore from your backups or from an iOS device if you have one that contains your music.

  • I have been trying to open the itunes store unsuccessfully.  I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled.  My firewall is not blocking.  I'm at a loss about what I can do.

Please, I need help getting into the itunes store.  I've tried everything.  Even had a computer forensics expert take a look and he could not figure out the problem.

It worked for me, for iTunes Store and Safari both!
They were overloading my CPU heavily, esp with some background services. And all the web pages stayed blank. So, I've found this solution:

Once it opens, type in the following command:
    netsh winsock reset
    hit enter
    (then wait for some time)
You should get a message that the winsock reset successful and you will need to reboot your computer.
Reboot and when I reloaded itunes the store loaded fine.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit on a brand new PC, and cannot connect to the iTunes store using iTunes version 10.  HELP!!

Ok, so after purchasing a new computer, with windows 7 pro, 64 bit, I tried downloading the newest iTunes, which at the time was 10.2.1 (i believe).  After installation, everything seemed to work, except that iTunes was unable to securely connect to the internet, use home sharing, or validate my computer.
As troubleshooting, I first ran msconfig, and then turned OFF all programs that boot at start up EXCEPT itunes and quicktime.  After a restart, i opened itunes again, and got the same result.  That led me to believe that iTunes was NOT being blocked by another program on my machine.  I am currently running itunes 10.7 successfully on a Windows 7 32 machine at work.  Anyhow, for grins, I tried to install version 9 on the new computer, and it installed perfectly, and immediately connected to the itunes store, leading me to believe that there is nothing wrong with my software configuration (not sure if this is a safe assumption or not).  I then tried to let iTunes update itself using the automated update function.  It tried to update itself to the most current version, then 10.6.  Again, iTunes was unable to connect to the iTunes store.  I HAVE tried disabling the anti-virus software (AVG), but that made no difference.
I have since gone back and reinstalled iTunes 9.  Here's the catch though.  When I reinstalled using version 9, I had to redo all my library files.  I'm about 1/2 way through my CD's, and now have a substantial library file going.  The last time I let iTunes update itself to 10.6, once I realized that it was not going to connect to the store, I uninstalled iTunes, and reinstalled ver. 9.  However, when I did this, it told me it could no longer open the library file, because it was a newer .itl or .xml (i believe it was one of those two extensions) library file.  At that point, I basically started everything over again, using version 9, and have been importing CD's like a madman at night.
    Here are my questions:
    1) Is there a way to make a copy of the files that store my library info, so that if my upgrade to ver 10 IS NOT SUCCESSFUL, I can restore ver 9, but still have all of the album art work, playlists (when I import music, I create a playlist with the artists' name, and store things that way), etc. in tact?
    2) What else can I try (firewall settings, internet options, etc.) to try and get version to to successfully install?  I would really like to get all the benfits of the newer versions.
    3) When I tried to get apple tech support before, they wanted me to pay a ridiculous 69$ fee for phone support.  I just bought an iphone 5....this should entitle me to a fresh 90 days of phone support, right?  The reason I ask here is that I could hardly understand the "tech" that answered the phone when I called for tech support last time, and to be honest, it really ****** me off that they wanted to try and milk me for another 69 bucks....I've purchased every iPhone since the 3Gs came out (pre-ordered at that), and have nearly gone broke purchasing music from their iTunes store....heck, maybe they're doing me me a favor not letting me into the store, huh?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated,
    -Brian

  • Why can't I open iTune Store on my PC?   When I click on the iTunes Store box, I get the message that the iTunes Store has stopped working.  This happens everytime.  What is wrong with my download?

My PC is running Windows 7.  I have downloaded the new OS Version for iTunes onto the computer.  It all works fine from the iPod Touch, but when I click the block for the iTunes Store, I get the message that "iTunes has stopped working".  What is wrong? How can I fix it so I can purchase from the store on my PC instead of having to use the small keyboard on the iPod Touch?

  • Why won't the iTunes Store allow me to make purchases and view my account information?

    Hello,
I'm having several issues with my iTunes store account and was wondering if someone could help me. This is basically what happened...
Problem #1 - iTunes store will not let me purchase music:
I signed into iTunes (i.e. entered my Apple ID and Password). I looked up some music and pressed "Buy." A pop-up appears and says, "Are you sure you want to buy and download "Song Name?" As a response, I press the "Buy" button. Then another pop-up appears and says, "Improve Apple ID security - To help ensure the security of your Apple ID, choose 3 security questions and answers" and it also requires my Apple ID and Password. I enter my Apple ID and Password and press the "Continue" button. Another pop-up appears saying, "Sign in Required - enter your Apple ID and Password" (Note: I am already signed in at this point). So, I enter my Apple ID and Password again. However, the "Sign in Required - enter your Apple ID and Password" appears again. I'm signed in, but the iTunes store apparently believes that I'm not. Why is this happening and how do I solve this?
Problem # 2 - iTunes store will not let me view my account information:
While signed in, I click the button at the top right corner of the iTunes store (i.e., the button with my Apple ID on it - [email protected]). Then I click "Account." A pop-up appears saying, "Sign in to view account information - Please enter your Apple ID and password and click "Account Info." So I enter my Apple ID and password and click the "Account Info" button (Note: I am already signed in at this point). Then another pop-up appears saying, "Sign in to view account information - Please enter your Apple ID and password and click "Account Info." Once again, I enter my Apple ID and password, then press the "Account Info" button. Then, the same "Sign in to view account information" pop-up appears again.
Basicially, I can sign into my iTunes store account, but when I want to make purchases or view my account information, iTunes continuously asks me to sign in even when I am already signed in.
Also, it might be helpful to note the following:
    - I want to change my account info because my old credit card expired and I now have a new one (and would like to change my payment info accordingly)
    - Also, I changed my password in hopes that it would help solve these problems. However, this did not help in the least.
I hope someone can help me out because I do not want anyone else to access my account (and spend my money) due to its apparent malufunctioning. And thanks in advance for your help!
    Cheers,
    K.E.K.

I had similiar problems with my itunes account and after some searching found a response that helped me - perhaps it will help you also...
It has to do with the cookie settings in Safari (of all things!)
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3559322?start=0&tstart=0
I had the problem where when I started up itunes I was constantly prompted for my password regarding something about "automatic downloads". No matter how many times I typed it in, the prompt would just keep re-appearing (I tried about 8-10 times).
When I tried to resolve the issue (based on another thread) by viewing my itunes account (in the top left drop down window where your user name is), I was getting odd messages about "make sure the date is correct", and itunes would not let me view my account.
By turning OFF the option to block ALL cookies in Safari, the problem(s) have gone away.
Open Safari - go to prefs - click on Privacy tab - make sure "block cookies" is set to "from third parties..."
    Good luck.

iTunes has never successfully accessed iTunes store.

I don't think it is a firewall issue as the connection attempts were not blocked according to the network connectivity report.
These ones have been tricky to solve.
As a first stab, one thing you could try is to create a new Windows account and see if you can connect from there.
P.S. I noticed that the date on the report is not the same as the date of your post. This may just be when your ran the report, but it is worth checking your computer's date and time are correct.
You could also check the Advanced tab in your Internet options. If "Check for server certificate revocation" is checked. If it is, try unchecking it.

  • My computer will no longer connect to the iTunes store.

I have asked iTunes technical support for help.
They have suggested removing all apple programs (in a specific order) and reinstall them (also in ordeer).
I have done this and still cannot connect.
I am sure someone else has had this same problem and can help.

    Perfect, thanks.
When I try connecting to the iTunes store the block at the top of the iTunes screen says "Accessing iTunes Store..." and the horizontal barber poll scrolls and scrolls and scrolls. It never connects. Task manager shows iTunes.exe is using 50% of the CPU.

  • My itunes will not sync my iphone or connect to the itunes store

    Hi there,
A couple of months ago I started experiencing problems with my ipod touch syncing to my itunes, and the connection to the itunes store also became rather hit and miss.  I decided to give it another go when I bought an iphone 4, which I did a couple of weeks ago.  Despite updating my itunes to version 10.5 I am still experiencing the same problems.  When I connect my iphone to my PC it gets to step 2 of the syncing process and then appears to be in some sort of limbo where it does not carry on working (the progress bar stays static rather than slowly increasing).  I am also unable to connect to the itunes store (it does not recognise that there is a problem, rather it just says 'Itunes Store' in the main part of the screen, in some kind of Emperor's New Clothes scenario, as though it's trying to kid me).  In addition I cannot connect to icloud in the control panel.  I have no problems with connecting to the internernet, have defraged and done a disc cleanup and checked that the firewalls are not blocking connectivity.
Please, does anyone have any suggestions?
