The J5780 answer anywere to the incoming calls

Dear Customer support,
I've already setted up the J5780 in the menu 4 - 2 for NOT AUTOMATICALLY ANSWER, but the machine always answer to the incoming calls.
We use that for only SEND faxes and we want disable the answering options.
I done something wrong?
Can you help us?
Thanks a lot!
Francesco Rondoni

To the best of my knowledge.
Yes device will be registered on network and will "receive calls" - the person who has it should not have option to pick those with lost mode.
wifi connection is usually not automatic, unless device is around previously known network, but cellular connection is established and reconnects.
Information that police gave you, about ability to trace IMEI is unknown to me, but I do not work for the police, they know better. (hopefully)

  • Help! Why is the Pre's speaker ringing an incoming call when I have a headset on?

    Hi all,
I just had the most embarrassing thing happen to me today.
I was listening to some music on my Pre with the headset (that came with the Pre), and I received an incoming call.
I heard it ring and answered the call, no problem what I thought!
When I got off the phone, my co-worker complained that I had the volume on the Pre too loud. I looked at her and said WTF, I said you heard the phone ring. She said yes!
I then did a test, I exited the music playing, and opened the phone app and make a phone call out. So I made sure that the icon in the phone app showed that I was using the headset.
Then I ended that call, and used a land line and call myself on the Pre.
The Pre rang both in the headset and also the speaker the Pre?
Why is the Pre using the speaker when the phone rings if I'm using a headset?
Isn't the purpose of the headset to provide privacy and keep my neighbors from being disturbed?
I read about the switch turning off the ring but not the music, but this wasn't a case where I needed to use the switch, I had the headphones on.
Why is this happening, is this a bug ... or is there some sort of setting that I don't know about?
    Thanks!
    Rob

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece.

  • No sound is played in the earphones to notify of an incoming call

With the earphones connected, in holster on not, there is no sound played in the earphones when there's an incoming call. The sound is only played in the speaker.
I do hear notifications in the earphones when there's a new text messages, a notification from Twitter and other applications.
Is this issue is going to be addressed in the near future, if at all?
    Thank you.

Wish I had a buck for everytime I've heard a request like this.  In every case where I've heard it in the past, the call center was small, undermanned, and they were trying to overcome these two limitations by trying to (1) see identifying info on calls in the queue, (2) send messages to agents, (3) set off a light and buzzer, etc.
Agents don't have the ability to see anything but the call they are working on using any of the agent interfaces.  The supervisor desktop has some additional options where you can set a workflow action to alert when certain criteria are met.  If the priority queue alerts when > 0, that might satisify your requirement, but it would NOT tell you WHO the priority caller is.
Then you have the issue that the agents are all busy, and someone has to dump the call they are working with to take the call in the queue.  Again, there are options to handle this, but you're putting bandaids on a problem.  The bandaids may work with varying degress of success, but it's likely that your organization will never be very happy with how it works.  The real issue you have is most likely a staffing and process problem, and you can only do so much to compensate for that with technology.

when i try to activate my iphone it asked me about my id and my password and then the phone answered me that the id or pass is incorrect

That means that the password you entered for your Apple ID was incorrect. This is the Activation Lock feature of the iPhone in action. Only the rightful owner, who knows the password for their Apple ID, can activate it. If you don't remember your Apple ID password you will have to reset it. Visit https://appleid.apple.com.

Is this an IMAP mail account?
If yes it is IMAP, check your server settings:
    * Tools > Account Settings > Copies & Folders for imap mail account.
    * Select: 'Place a copy in'
    * Select; 'Other' and the 'Sent folder on the imap mail account.
note the 'Sent' folder on the server might be called 'Sent Items' or similar.
    Re Archives, Drafts and Templates:
If you want to use the folders on the server...
    * Select: 'Other' and the Archives folder on the imap mail account
    * Select: 'Other' and the Drafts folder on the imap mail account
    * Select: 'Other' and the Templates folder on the imap mail account
note: some people like to store their Archives in Local Folders.
So you would need to create an 'Archives folder in Local Folders and choose 'Other' and 'Archives' fodler on Local Folders.
click on OK to save changes to Account Settings.
Have you performed all the suggested 'housework' on your folders to reduce their size?

  • How can I change the speaker and listening volume for incoming calls?

When I get calls, I'd rather have them be louder. When I use the speaker feature, same thing. Not loud enough. Help, and thanks!

You're a GOD! Thanks so much.

  • How can I set the number of rings before an incoming call goes to voicemail?

How can I set my iPhone4 to ring more than 3 times before going to voicemail. I keep missing calls because I can't get to the phone that fast. I read on an Apple blog that this is controlled by the service provider, namely Verizon. Looked all over your site of FAQs and couldn't find the answer.

x-x, I'm sad to hear that you want to leave VZW because of this. The number of rings is standard at 5-6 rings which is approximately 30 seconds. If yours is only ringing 3 times, it may be the ringtone you have selected. Make sure to also reboot your phone often and dial *228 option 2. If still having issues, try calling yourself from another phone to see how many times it rings on that end.

  • How I can hang up an incoming call using the IO7 ?

    I'm using the IPhone 5 , and updated to software iOS 7  ; V 7.0.2
earlier in the previous iOS6, i was able to hang up an incoming call while the screen was locked. But now i can't. The only thing possible is just mute the ringing tone.
Is it possible in the iO7 to hang up an incoming call ?

Tap the Sleep/Wake button to silence the call, a double tap sends the call straight to Voicemail.

  • I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL  incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive)  other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem  solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before.  Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls after recent update

When I updated my Bluetooth to iOS 6, the Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls. I press button to answer call, it makes a small cracking noise, and then sends the call to my phone. I can use the Bluetooth for outgoing calls and it works just fine. I was hoping when I updated to iOS 6.0.1 that the problem would be fixed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bluetooth but that has not helped either. I am frustrated. I have a LG HBM-905 Bluetooth that I loved prior to this problem.

Magically started working today after I synced.

  • Caller ID for incoming calls NOT displaying name from contacts (only displays phone # on BB Z10)

on the Z10 Whenever I receive an incoming call, the caller ID only shows the phone #, even when I have that number matched to a contact in the phone, even the call log it show the number and not the name.  How do I get the caller ID to recognize and display the appropriate contact name with the phone fro an incoming call? Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks, Akhanbilal

Thank you Arsen but, as with everyone else : (1) When you get an in-coming call, it has no call log on the phone app call log that allows you do a thing under the sun except to touch the number of the last call, and when you do, it CALLS THEM BACK. (2) On every other BlackBerry I have owned, about 10 to-date, I simply selected the last in-coming call and had a button at the bottom of the screen to allow me to ADD TO CONTACTS. (3) This does NOT exist on the Z10, and there certainly is no "Click on number, little slider pops on the right, select add to contact."  Instead it dials them.  Frustrating other uses have described Arsen. Further, while on the topic : (4) None of this has anything to do with 10-digit national dialing plan or anything else on swipe finger down from top in Phone App, Arsen. (5) When you swipe Phone App down, you see SETTINGS. Then, there are 13 items.  I have looked at all 13 items and see nothing as you describe to select, nor any instructions on what to set the SMART DIALING to when there are 3 area codes local for my city and country code shows +1. Further, while on topic here : (6) Visual Voice Mail has been turned-on and whatever visual voice mail is, never supported on any previous BlackBerry including my 9780 before this, I have it with T-Mobile and have it turned on on the BlackBerry Z10 and it too does not work.  On the positive side, I do have a work-around for BlackBerry Z10 to 2013 Toyota entune. (7) I first took a vm msg .wav file of just hello (blank will not send) and saved it on BlackBerry Z10.  The Toyota entune is LOOKING for a music and will LOCK-UP if none are found.  By giving it this, it worked on my 2013 Toyota entune for the 1st time ever.  Yeah !  It is a little frustrating every few minutes listening to myself say HELLO.  But, hey no one really notices it with all the other stuff going on NAVIGATION, radio, cell phone calls, and all the computerized alerts on 2013 Toyota even without entune. (8) What I did now was to go into Navigation and remove SYNC with MUSIC.  I accomplished that after pairing to Z10 to 2013 Toyota, by CANCELLING ALL CONNECTIONS leaving only the pairing itself.  Then, you must choose some connections in the pairing section of SET-UP within Navigation itself.  If you cannot even get to that point, try depressing on the Navigation Screen, INTERNET at which point it will allow you access to SET-UP when you see the message NO ENTUNE APP FOUND ON YOUR BlackBerry Z10.  Red-headed step-child is what we all are.  Have to help each other.  Arsen I appeciate you helping all of us.  Seems the list is about 20 who have voiced it here in this one thread.  We voice it for the 200 million BlackBerry users worldwide, all left out in the cold despite a pretty cool Z10 product. Far better than iPhone 5.  I chose phone and internet.  Internet comes back no BLACKBERRY Z10 TOYOTA ENTUNE APP.  But, at least now I don't have to hear the music HELLO and do not also have the BlackBerry Z10 LOCKED-UP with pop up message you have to say OK to 10 million times to clear and never can actually do a thing on the BlackBerry Z10 as  a result.  Cannot add an in-coming call to Contacts Z10. Cannot see name and number calling me, just the bloody number, no clue who is calling ridiculous. Cannot do diddle-e-squat on BlackBerry Z10 on Toyota entune.  No App.  Horrendous. TAGS : Z10 no caller-id name, Z10 no app Toyota 2013 entune, Z10 add call to Contacts

  • N95 - Won't Recognise Incoming Calls

Just got the N95 so this might be finger problems or I might have missed a setting somewhere ....
When I get an incoming call it doesn't seem to tie it up with existing contacts. It simply shows the incoming number rather than contact name.
When I try to update the contact data using the incoming number I note that it's in national rather than international format i.e. not +44 etc. It looks as though it can't recognise that 014xxx is the same as +44 14xxx.
Is there any way to get the contact name appearing for an incoming call without having to change my entire contact book from international to national format? Is there some setting I've missed?

There are 4 main reasons why caller recognition fails:
    - duplicate phone numbers in contacts
Basically, the phone finds two (or more) possible contact names for the same number, doesn't know which to use, so sensibly opts for showing the number
Fixing this requires a laborious search through your contacts looking for duplicates. If you can't do this in Outlook or another PC tool, then you can use the latest version or the Search tool - just remember to search for PARTS of the number to get around formatting issues, ie: the fact that to the search facility 0208123456 is NOT the same as 0208 123 456.
    - using the international dialing code instead of +
eg: 00442081234567 (wrong) instead of +442081234567
    - brackets around 0 prefixes
If you synch with Outlook and add a country to the contacts address, Outlook changes your beautifully formatted number, +442081234567 into the absurd and un-usable +44 (0) 2081234567
    - spaces in numbers
There have been reports of some phones having problems with spaces in numbers with recent firmware upgrades - suddenly phones have stopped recognising +44 208 123 4567 and will only recognise +442081234567.

  • I have installed a ringtone but phone does not ring on incoming calls

I Have an Iphone 4S, it came with vibration set as default ringtone, I changed the ringtone but the phone does not ring on incoming calls, What is wrong?

Also, you may want to do a reboot, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appers, so that everything is reset.

  • Blocking incoming calls

Good Afternon. Would someone please explain the 10 phone number limit for blocking incoming calls? I have used Vonage [which has no limit] Optimum on line [100 limit] Time Warner [30 limit and it cleared the list every 90 days] Fios only offers me 10 ? Are you aware of the problem with telemarketers? I don't think so. I'd like Fios to be more proactive in allowing me to defend the peace and quiet of my home, by expanding this area. It's quite pitiful compared to other vendors I have used, and it is the Main reason that I am not renewing my contract with Fios when we are done. Thank you.

*60 (Call Block) is the easiest way to block an incoming caller, however to my understanding only local, landline numbers can be blocked with *60. To use it, simply dial *60 and follow the prompts. But call Verizon first to set up a monthly subscription or you will be charged per use charges which can really add up.
A really great option which I have on my landline phone is called Do Not Disturb. You can make a list of up to 15 phone numbers which are the only people who can get through to you when you have DND turned on. (You can turn it on and off anytime you want through an 800 number.) NO other calls, including telemarketers, "unavailable" numbers, etc. can get through. If you have home voice mail you can choose to send the blocked calls to your voice mail so they can leave a message. Otherwise they will get a recording saying "The party you are calling does not wish to be disturbed at this time." There are also two other rejection messages you can choose.
Also you can choose a 4 digit pin to give to people you want to be able to get through but I have never used that option; I just put them on the "allowed numbers" list.
