The Java applet doesnt show up - instead white window !?

Hello there..
I have a mysteries problem.
I have a client server program using RMI in Java 1.4 but sometimes before anything shows up, At the point that my java applet show up from the HTML page on 10% of the times I see a white window on the HTML page at the size of the applet and it dead.
After this point everything stuck I cant even close my html window
I have to do it from the task manager.
What happiness here?

Which version of Java do you have, try 1.4.2_09
Have you any firewalls which might block your RMI?

  • I can't install the java applet for google drive

I want to upload complete maps into drive as a backup. But every time I want to install the Java applet a little yellow bar appears in drive wich says: ''The installation of the java applet has failed.''
(I'm using a dutch version, so the quotations are just a free translation to english.)
When I click on the add-on button next to the padlock and click on ''allow to continue'' the page appears to refresh, but then the add-on button just reappears next to the padlock and nothing has changed.
I have enabled java through the padlock and at the permissions tab, but that didn't solve it.

  • How do I set it to where the java applets will load up?

Uhm.. So, I've gotten the 6.0 java, at first the java applets were doing fine and loading up with Firefox. I have checked the java console and it is set for fire fox, yet it's still not loading the applets. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

  • How do I clear all of the java applets that have been downloaded?

I migrated firefox and other applications to my new mac so that I would not to reenter all of my passwords saved by firefox. However, it appears that the java applets were also transfered and one of these applets does not work with the new intel mac. I was able to get the same applet to work in safari, and I was able to delete the applet from safari as well, but was unable to do so in firefox.
So, how do I clear all of the previously downloaded applets, or even better, just the one I want to? Clearing all of the recent history didn't work.
    Here is the site:

I did that already, and it cleared the applets for Safari, but not for Firefox.

  • Where can I set the window dimensions for the "Java Applet window"?

    Hi,
When I run a form on the web, the Java Applet is loaded and the form appear in the window. But "base window" have gived dimensions indifferent what dimensions has the window of the form which I run.
So, where can I set the dimensions of the "core window" which is behind the MDI window of the application?
    Thanks in advance,
    Eugen

    Eugen,
in formsweb.cfg you will find parameters "width" and "height". You can set absolute values in pixels or "relative" in percent.
    width=800
    height=600
    or
    width=100%
    height=100%

  • Unable to start the java applet

    Hi there,
I'm having some problems with the java applet unable to display on some of the pc in the workplace. I've tried to uninstall & reinstall the jre but still to no avail.
    Scenarios:
Log in as Administrator = OK
Log in as user with Administrator priviledge = NOT OK
Is there anything else which I could try? please advice & thanks so much guys.

Not sure if this is the correct solution but to edit your classpath go to your start button and select settings. then from there select control panel. then select system and when you get the pop up menu select the advanced tab. you should see an environment variables button. when you select environment variables you will get another pop up menu. there should be a listing for classpath. select it and click edit.
start button -> settings -> control panel -> system -> advanced -> classpath
move your cursor to the end of the listing for your classpath and add whatever file or directory you need to add. then click ok. make sure you include the entire path and if you need to add a jar file also include the .jar extension. however, it may be enough that you include the path up to the directory where the jar is located.
once you add to your classpath, you will need to close and restart the application that needs the new classpath.

  • Java Applet painting broken in IE11 and Windows 8.1

When running a Java applet in Internet Explorer 11 window on Windows 8.1, JRE fails to repaint the viewport correctly when the web browser window is resized or scrolled. (assuming the Java Applet has display dimensions larger than the window, necessitating the need to resize or scroll host IE window). Webpage is displaying the java applet using any of OBJECT or EMBED tags.
This JRE behavior prevents the user from interacting successfully with the Java Applet (typically input data fields or click buttons in applet) should user need to resize or scroll the window.
This bug only occurs on IE11 on Windows 8.1 with JRE 7 and JRE 8 (include 8u31)
    This bug does not occur on  IE11 on Windows 7,  IE10 on Windows 7 / 8 ,  Firefox on Windows  7 / 8 / 8.1 ,  Google Chrome on Windows  7 / 8 / 8.1
This bug has also been posted to the IE Feedback website since 2013 as we do not know if this is to be resolved by Oracle or Microsoft.
With the upcoming removal of Java Plugin support in Google Chrome, and, with this JRE bug (or incompatibility?) in IE11 Windows 8.1, this leaves only Firefox as the only usable web browser for Java Applets on Windows 8.1.  Our customer base on Windows 8.1 is only using IE11 or Chrome.

I am seeing a minor issue with the timesheet grid after users are upgraded from IE8 to IE11.
We are using Project Server 2010 with SP1 and Oct 2013 CU.
When some users (using IE11) switches between filters or views in the Timesheet page, the grid shrinks making to content un readable.  The only way to get it back is to refresh the page. After a refresh, the grid returns to normal size, but the pane
divider is too far to the left and always must be dragged to the right in order to see the task names in the left grid.

  • ADS in the Java stack of a Dialog instance on Windows + CI on iSeries

    Hi,
I read the document "Using Adobe Document Services with SAP on IBM DB2 for i5/OS".
    Summary of the document -
There are two possible technical scenarios:
    1. ADS in the Java stack of a Dialog instance on Windows
1.1. ABAP+Java dialog instance on Windows
1.2. Java dialog instance on Windows
    2. ADS in a SAP system on a supported platform
    2.1. ABAP+Java central instance on Windows/Unix
2.2. Java central instance on Windows/Unix
The document recomammeds technical scenario 1, that is, install a Windows Dialog instance.
Choosing an ABAP+Java or Java system depends on the usage scenario for Interactive Forms:
    - Interactive PDF use: Java mandatory, ABAP+Java possible
    - Interactive use in SAP Maanger Self_Services/batching of forms:
ABAP+Java mandatory but Note 993612 describes the status for NW04s SP12 onwards.
    End of summary -
Our prefered rechnical scenario is: "1.2. Java dialog instance on Windows" to minimice resources.
Our usage scenario for Interactive Forms includes "SAP Manager Self- Services".
Our interpretation of note 993612 is that we do not need double stack installation. Could you confirnm this ?.
If yes, we are going to install a Java Dialog instance on Windows connected to our Java Central instance on iSeries (our SAP Portal system) to use ADS.
    Best regards.

    Hello Torrell,
your statements sound reasonable, also including SAP Note 993612.
To decide, though, whether a single stack would be enough (especially based on the aforementioned note), you will need the advise of an ADS application expert (or someone else who has implemented your scenario, independent of the platform).
I thus assume that you will not get an answer in this forum. Your question is ADS application specific.
When you know for sure that a single stack will be enough, your approach to use a Windows dialog instance will be fine.
    Best regards, Barbara

  • Java applet not showing up in Internet Explorer 8

    Hi,
I have an applet tag in a JSP, and it is not working in Internet Explorer 7 and 8.
Yes, I have read that the applet tag was deprecated - the problem is that it is working for my colleague, also in IE8.
Java is enabled on my machine/IE options.
Could anyone please suggest what the issue might be?
    Thanks.

I haven't tried resizing the applet yet. Since you all mentioned it I am going to play with that later today.
To elaborate on the fix, yes - updating to Java 6 - 16 will allow IE 8 to display applets.
Just in case anyone else runs into this issue as well:
I am running Vista on a 64 bit.
It has two directories named Program Files:
One named just "Program Files" - evidently for the 64 bit stuff.
Another named something like "Program Files (x86)".
Apparently it will look into "Program Files" - the 64 bit one by default.
I haven't found a 64 bit version of Java 6 - 16 to install - the only 64 bit one is some version of 1.5, unless I am missing something, so the Java 6 - 16 installed into the Program Files(x86), and 1.5 into Program Files. Windows pointed JAVA_HOME to 1.5 because it looks into the Program Files by default.
The result was that when I went to the Java site it analyzed my Java version and told me I have the most up to date version. But -
java -version on the console returned 1.5. Confusing at first, but on such systems, apparently the JAVA_HOME has to be explicitly repointed to the (x86) Program File directory.

  • Forms window inside applet doesnt show buttons

    Hi everyone,
We are trying to migrate some apps to Forms10, ( coming from client-server 6i ) and there seems to b some problem with the size of the forms window inside the applet. I have tried the solution i read here about using javascript, which spwans a window whith applet and the forms ( closing the parent ). So, i get the browser window ( with no menu bar, just like I want ) but the trouble is the form doesn't show it's buttons ( close and maximize )... to get them in the applet i must double click the border of the forms window, and then they appear... but if i maximize it, they get out of range again... can anyone help me ?
    thx in advance

What Windows screen size settings are you working with... 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024?
It sounds like you are using up all the available space on the screen, and in Web Forms, the containing windows take up a few more pixels.
