The keyboard on my Mac Pro Server with OS X Lion stopped working

I'm from Brazil and apple doesn't have any support here, just for iphones...So could anyone please help me?
The keyboard and the mouse on my Mac Pro suddenly stopped working, the mouse light is on but not working, the mouse cursor doesn't even appear on the screen, I've tryed with different keyboards in all the usb ports and nothing, none of them worked.

It is a easy fix to this problem.
I have this video card
iMac 24 inch, early 2008.
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB .
This is what you do.
1. open app store.
2.go to  the update tab.
Yuo will see the imovie icon waiting to install.
3.clic the sub menu tab and select "try apdate in an hour" option from the sub menu.
4.leave the app store window open and came back in an  1hr .
Like magic you will see the imovie app being upgrade it in the lunch pad .
enjoy it.

Mtn Lion not due out until the Summer, so no, you will not get a free upgrade.

  • Why doesn't the iCal on my Mac Pro sync with the iCal on my iPhone?

The iCal on my Mac Pro (Lion 10.7.3) and the iCal on my iPhone (iOS 5.1) don't sync - why?  Not very impressed with iCloud at the moment.

You're looking on the wrong page, Anne.  Look at the top of that screen; you should see Summary, Info, Apps, Music, and a few other buttons up there. Click on the "Info" button. Then you'll find the options for synching calendars and contacts.

  • Does the current Mac Pro come with OS X Lion?

I want to buy a Mac Pro and was wondering if it has OS X 10.7, aka Lion installed already.

They were initially selling new, old stock with 10.6.8 installed and a free upgrade (based on serial number or invoice number) to Lion via download.
In the extremely unlikely event that you buy a Mac that was in a box at the local store before the July release date of Lion, you will get a free downlaod of Lion, just as before. You may want to perform that at the store, where they will show you how to download from their Server, much faster than at home.
By now, all the old stock should have been sold and every Mac you buy (including refurbished from the online store) should have Lion pre-installed, but NO DVD in the box. To recover/re-Install, you need Broadband Internet or take it back to the Store and use their Internet.

  • How much does it cost to replace the keyboard on my Mac Pro?

I've had my Mac Pro laptop since last year and definitely ate foods while I was working. Now I have to take my laptop to the Genius Bar to clean the keyboard but I've noticed that some of the keys are popping out. How can I fix them? What is the replacement cost? I'm on the warranty.

It won't be replaced under warranty since there is no defect in workmanship. Owner negligence is not covered. Call your local Apple Store for an estimate.

  • For some reason my "N" key popped out of the keyboard on my Mac Pro

I had my grandchild here and the "N" key popped out.  We have clicked the "n" back into the slot but it is loose.  Does anyone know how to reseed the key into the keyboard that it will stay?

You can take it to an Apple Store and they can put the key back on for you, or replace it if it is defective.

  • Shutdown with AppleScript in Lion stop working fine

    Hello to everyone,
I have to run this AppleScript (saved as Application.app)
do shell script "sudo shutdown -r now"
With Snow Leopard this script works fine, but now Lion save the application state before shutting down the system, so this application (that is running while the system i shutting down) is automatically restarted at startup.
I also tried to modify it in:
do shell script "sudo shutdown -r +1 &"
    tell application "Application"
      quit
    end tell
but if I quit the script (Application.app) the shutdown command is stopped.
Can anyone help me in solving this problem, please? I don't know how to do.. Is there a shutdown parameter (via command line) for telling the system to not save the application state?
    Thanks very much!
I hope to find an "illuminated" programmer that can help me..
    Andrea

Hi "twtwtw" and thanks for you interesting in my problem.. sorry for my bad english; well.. 'illuminated' is not the world I want
I also does not have correctly explained my problem, sorry.. I'll try to do it better.
I use ChronoSync to sync some folder between my iMac (where it's installed on) and my MacBook Pro.. after the syncronization I have to possibility to run an application; the application is the following applescript (saved as .app):
    set isConnected to false
    try
set reply to do shell script "ping -c 3 -q MacBook-Pro.local | grep received"
              if reply contains "received" then
set theCount to (item 4 of (every word of reply)) as integer
if theCount > 0 then set isConnected to true
              end if
    end try
    if isConnected then
do shell script "ssh [email protected] 'sudo shutdown -h now'"
    end if
    delay 60
do shell script "sudo shutdown -r now"
This script test if my MacBook Pro is available on my network and (if yes) shutdown it.
Then wait 60 seconds and shutdown the iMac. I need to use the "do shell script" because my iMac is in the logon screen when the application/script run.. so the script 'tell application "app" to quit' does not work.
Then.. the application that I have to quit is the same application tha run the shutdown command, so I can't quit it before running the shutdown.
My goal is to build a script that could shutdown my local system (even if it runs while my user account is locked and I see on the monitor the logon screen) and that will not restart automatically after the reboot (caused by the application state saved by Lion).
I hope to have explained better my problem
Sorry again for my english.. and thanks for every suggestion that you could tell me!

  • So my 8core 2007 'FutureProof' Mac Pro won't run Mountain Lion - any work arounds?

Can it really be true that it's the end of the OS upgrading line for my 2007 MacPro?
Surely someone out there knows a way to get around this? After holding out for Mountain Lion
while switching from MobileMe to iCould in the 'knowledge' that it wasn't necessary to get Lion first, I thought I
could survive a few weeks!... Just to be disappointed!?! Please say it isn't so!...

If you google you will find a step by guide. It's not the easiest process in the world but seems doable. Good luck

  • Installing Lion Server on brand new Mac Pro Server

So we received a Mac Pro Server with 3x1TB drives and a raid card last friday.
Unpacked it today and booted it up from the recovery partition and launched raid utitlity, as usual its 3 seperate drives (no raid).
So I deleted the second and third volumes leaving only the preinstalled lion server and recovery hd on the first volume.
Called Enterprise Support and got a few knowledge base articles about installing. One of them being about "internet install" which states if you replace the drive with recovery hd on it you can still boot your machine via internet by holding down Cmd+R.
Doing so leaves me with a Folder and a question mark, so it can't find anywhere to boot from.
Doing the same thing with any new mac delivered with normal lion on it will succeed in booting on the same network from apples internet install.
So how do I go about deleting the primary volume (with lion and recovery hd preinstalled) and creating a raid5 over these three drives?
No USB drive with Lion server delivered. It's not needed, of course not...
No DVD with Snow Leopard server delivered.

Direct Download Links for Adobe Software
Simply install CS5.5 right away and it will ask for the previous serials for verification.

  • What is the soundcard for 2008 mac pros?

I'm having some problems with no sound in the Windows Partition of my Computer and I'm talking to Windows people about it. They're asking me for the type of soundcard I have and I don't know that. What section of System Profiler tells me what the sound card is?
    :\

The onboard sound uses the "Realtek High Definition Audio" drivers. You can either grab them off the DVDs that your Mac Pro came with or download them from Realtek's site:
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24& Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

we are a creative design studio, we need to use apple mac pro server , so we can make more than a different user to use at the same time doing different activities, on different screens, is it possible?what is the max. no. of users that can work efficient.
Appreciate your support and if possible , how to do this?

If you want to work with Mac OS X, you need one computer per simultaneous user.
What you are describing, " Multiple simultaneous logins to a single computer" is not avialable on a regular Mac of any description, unless you decide to use Unix tools instead of Mac OS X.
Server will happily store files for many, many users and provide them to multiple (up to hundreds) of computers at "near hard Drive" speeds over Gigabit Ethernet. It can make the File Sharing part easy.

  • Does the new Mac Pro Server have lights out management?

I would like to know if the Mac Pro Server has the LOM. Such as the ability to turn off, on, and reboot by simply using the server admin tools. I use this feture very often with my current xserve and would rather buy a new server then try and find a used 2009 xserve.

    No.

  • Convert a Mac Pro Server from January 2007 with OS 10.4 Server to Snow Leopard 6.0 (NON SERVER)

I have a Mac Pro Server from January 2007 with OS 10.4 Server installed. I want to convert from OS 10 Server OS to just using Snow Leopard 6.0 (NON SERVER). I have two hard drives installed. What is the best way to do this?
Can I just install Snow Leopard NON-SERVER on the second drive, then switch it into the place of the original main drive?
Can I switch the drives, then install the Snow Leopard on the replacement drive?

Not sure how you configured the server, though you can install snow leopard on second HDD and select boot drive with pressing "option" key during startup.
