The last page of every pdf document won't print.

If I ask to print just one page - nothing.   If I ask for two pages, I get the first page.   Help.  Using Mac OSX 10.9.5 and Adobe 11.0.09
I tried printing using an older version of Adobe, had the 'won't print last page problem' so I upgraded to the latest version.   Still the same exact problem.    Does anyone have suggestions?

I have the same problem, but not just in Acrobat. Indesign also. So... I can't print a single page. Have to print two, and toss the one I don't want. Seems to be a problem with Adobe print interface. I can sometimes "trick" it by going to system print dialog box and back out again.

  • Can I print the last page of a PDF document using command line?

    Hi
    I am in a situation in which I constantly have to deal with multiple PDF documents and I need to print the last page in each of these, and ONLY the last page. The total number of pages will vary for each file, so the page number for the last page will also vary.
    I would really prefer to not do this manually, by opening up each file in the visible Adobe Reader window and then print.
    Question:
    Is there a way with Adobe Reader (maybe with the help of some other Adobe product) to print only the last page of a PDF document using some kind of command line without opening up the PDF file in the visible Adobe Reader window?
    I'm using Windows.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    Thank you for taking the time to reply.
    I tried both ways and neither works.  It gives me a prompt box that I have to click "next" for every page but after going thru all pages, nothing is sent to the printer.
    Also, all directions I've read indicate it will print to the default printer.  If my default printer is on a network, will that cause problems....
    and...
    should I be getting a prompt box on every page?  I thought all this would happen behind the scenes and not force me to interact with every page.

  • How do I print only the first page of multiple PDF documents?

    I have about 1,500 PDF files (scientific papers) that I need to print only the first page of... Any suggestions on how to do this as a single job or as a few jobs? The files are organized in a bunch of different folders, so if there was some way to do this folder by folder, that would be ok too. Thanks!

    Make sure that in System Preferences Printing & Fax pane you set the default printer to the one you want to use, then put all of these PDF files into their own folder, then open terminal and type the following (without hitting return afterward):
    lpr -o page-ranges="1-1"
    Then drag one of the PDF files into the terminal window (it will add it's path to the end of your command) and replace the file name with *.pdf, so it will look like this:
    lpr -o page-ranges="1-1" /Users/todd/Documents/My\ Folder/*.pdf
    Then hit return.

  • Add a field to the last page of a document file only

    Hello,
    I currently have a script which will add signature and text fields to the first page of a document.
    The script is required to specify the "last page" of the document and not the page number, as each file will vary with the number of pages.
    The script is in run in batch processing on multiple files which are not open (usually 50 at a time).
    If anyone can please advise how to modify the script I will be most grateful.
    // Create Date field dynamically for employee signature field
    var f = this.addField("Todaydate", "text", 0,
    [60, 54, 135, 75]);
    f.userName = "Today's Date";
    f.value = "Automatic Update";
    f.readonly = true;
    f.fillColor = color.ltGray;
    // Create signature field dynamically for employee
    var f = this.addField("mySignature", "signature", 0,
    [120, 85, 330, 105]);
    f.setAction("OnFocus", "var f = this.getField('Todaydate'); f.value = util.printd('d/mm/yyyy', new Date());");

    Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate your quick response.
    The script has been modified as you suggested and the fields are now added to the last page of each document and is working perfectly.
    I have included the modified script as follows for reference:
    // Create Date field dynamically for employee signature field, add fields to the last page of every file
    // Determine the last page of this document
    var page = this.numPages - 1;
    var f = this.addField("Todaydate", "text", page,
    [60, 54, 135, 75]);
    f.userName = "Today's Date";
    f.value = "Automatic Update";
    f.readonly = true;
    f.fillColor = color.ltGray;
    // Create signature field dynamically for employee
    var f = this.addField("mySignature", "signature", page,
    [120, 85, 330, 105]);
    f.setAction("OnFocus", "var f = this.getField('Todaydate'); f.value = util.printd('d/mm/yyyy', new Date());");

  • Extracting the first page of multiple PDFs & saving them as jpegs.

    Dear all,
    First post - hope its in the right place.
    I work in Publishing, and I have been given the following task - I have about 400 ebooks, all in pdf format, and my task is to extract the cover from every one of them (which is the first page of every pdf) and export them all as separate jpeg files (file names can remain exactly the same - ie, the name of the pdf book will be the same as the jpeg file). So I will end up with 400 ebooks and 400 jpegs of their covers.
    Anyone have any idea how to do this ?
    i have Windows and acrobat 8
    I have looked at batch processing in acrobat, but the option to extract the first page of multiple pdf files is not one of the options. there is an option to create your own script which im guessing is my best bet ? (hence why i have posted my question here)  Though I don't have the first clue about this. Have done some google searches, and some people have created similar things, but I cant seem to get them to work.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Rich

    ok, i have found a set of acrobat batch sequence and come across the following :
    Batch sequence name: Extract Pages to Folder.sequ. Task: For each file from the selected files, extract each of its pages and save the extracted pages to a particular folder.
    Example 2.10 Insert navigation icons
    /* Extract Pages to Folder */
    // A regular expression to acquire the base name of the file.
    var re = /.*\/|\.pdf$/ig;
    var filename = this.path.replace(re,"");
    try
      for ( var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i++ )
      this.extractPages
      nStart: i,
      cPath: "/C/temp/myDocs/"+filename+"_"+i+".pdf" // change this });
    catch (e)
       console.println("Batch Aborted: " + e )
    looks like i need something like this, but tried the above earlier, and couldnt get it to work (prob cause I didnt replace the words exactly correctly). I am guessing that i am entering this in the correct place though (ie - create new sequence, and got into the script editor box)

  • How to display grand total only on the last page of my report

    Hello
    I need to display the grand total amount of the invoice only on the last page of every report. If the report has 1 page then the grand total will be displayed on the 1st page. If the report has 2 pages then a subtotal will be displayed on the 1st page adding up all the amounts on page 1 only, and the grand total will be displayed on the 2nd page, adding up all the amounts of page 1 and 2. If the report has 3 pages then the a subtotal will be displayed on page 1 adding up all the amounts of page 1, and another subtotal on page 2 adding up all the amounts of page 2, and the grand total are displayed on page 3 adding up the amounts of every page.

  • How to Indentify the last page of output

    Hi All,
    I'm customizing the AR Invoice Report using XML Publisher. This report output can have more than one invoice.
    If an invoice has more lines and output is more than one page, I have to print the following information only on the last page of an invoice.
    1. Printing Remittance information at the bottom of the last page
    2. Invoice totals only on the last page of an Invoice.
    3. Printer marks to indicate the last page. Last page will have 3 small lines and all other pages will have 2 lines.
    To be more clear, if an invoice has 25 lines and first page can print 20 lines and the second page 5 lines. The remittance information and totals have to be printed on the second page. The first page has to have blank space at the same position.
    I need not to print an additional last page.
    I have page break after each invoice so that the page number is reset.
    Is there a way to identify the last page of in the report? I have found out that we can access the page number using the tag <?fo:page-number?>. However I could not find anything to identify the number of pages or the last page.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestion regarding this. It will be very helpful.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Vijay,
    you need not check for the last page of the output. Pl go through 'Last Page Only Content' secton on 2-48 of XML Pub guide 5.6.1.
    I had very similar requirements and i achieved it by following the above info. One thing we should be careful of is: When we make some change in the content of first page, we should do those changes in the last page if the same content exists in the last page!!
    Hope it helps.

  • HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer won't print the last page of documents & envelope problem

    My HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer won't print the last page of documents until i send another document, then it will print the last page of the previous document, but omit the last page of the current document.  I need to keep printing a blank page or any other page to get my previous documents completely printed.  Also, the envelopes print with large rectangular boxes on them and no address (I don't know if this is a result of the previous stated problem or not - it started happening at the same time) I use the envelope feature in Microsoft Word 2010.  I never used to have either of these problems - didn't make any changes to the system or add any software to the computer, so I know it's not that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
    You can find the Commercial Laserjet board here:

  • Photosmart C6380 only prints the last page in documents

    My printer only prints the last page of multi page documents. To choose more than one page in a page interval in the print menu does not help, but it is possible to print all pages in a document if I only print one page at a time which takes forever for longer documents. I use Windows 7 64 bits and it used to work until the end of 2011. If I uninstall drivers and reinstall, it sometimes work for a short while and then the problem comes back. All my drivers are updated and I run the printer on wifi.

    Just to add some information: I do not get any error messages, blinking lamps or anything like that. I've got the same problem independent of file-format as it seems. I have tried word-files, pdf-files and to print from the web browser Explorer.

  • How to display PDF in slideshow, without returning to the first page or stall/halt on the last page?

    Hi,
    I want to display PDF's with multiple pages as a slideshow.
    This is possible with a default Adobe Reader and have this working for ONE pdf file.
    But I want do display multiple PDF's as a slideshow, the one after the other.
    In Adobe Reader you can define to return to the first page again or it automatically 'stalls/halts' at the last page.
    But I want Adobe Reader to close after the last page is displayed so it continues (in a simple DOS-script) with a second, third, etc. PDF to be displayed.
    Is this possible?
    What kind of simple DOS-script kan be used or an other reader/utility?
    Thanks in advance!
    Gunther

    Hi Bernd,
    I was looking for ways to script this kind of solution.
    But do not have good results.  There are tools to combine pdf's into one large pdf - but mostly to be selected by hand.
    We need it in a scriptable way to automate.
    Additionally, we want to be able to combine different types of documents to rotate as a slide show (so not only PDF's but also pictures or other output).
    If you or someone else have such scripts, it will be highly appreciated.

  • How do you apply the same password policy to every PDF document you create with inDesign?

    All,
    Adobe peeps!,
    I don't know if this is really supported with inDesign 5.5, but here is my my use case:
    I constantly create more than 10 PDFs a day using inDesign
    On  all PDF's I create, i want to apply password security to protect them
    But in order to do so, within inDesign, I am   always forced to go to the "security dialogue" pane to set up the same permission  and passwords over and over again
    This gets tiring :/
    So what I am hoping to do is  the following:
    Like acrobat, I want to create a password policy within inDesign
    I want all PDFs created to have such a password policy  be automatically applied
    I know acrobat supports something like this (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7d68.w.h tml), but, unless I may have missed something, the Acrobat feature is limited. That is, the help link  does not tell me how to automatically do this with Acrobat either (the link does not explain to me how to "automatically apply the same password security policy to every PDF document I save within the application). I think the only way to do so is via "Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES", but for non server users, I am hoping there is another way.
    So my questions are:
    Is it possible to create password security policies in inDesign?
    Is it possible to apply the same password security policy to every PDF i create in inDesign?
    If not, can I change default settings within Acrobat ProX to automatically apply a password security policy everytime I save a PDF?
    If all fails, do you guys know of any extensions that can support this?
    Any help would be great. Thanks!

    Steve,
    Thanks for your notes. To follow up on your response.
    Bummer. I kinda had a hunch at this inDesign limitation.
    I have been aware of the method for setting up of a security policy within Acrobat. While this feature does cut down some of the work involved in creating and applying password policies to pdfs, what I am looking for with Acrobat is to apply the same password policy to every document I save from the app. Automatically. Without having to manualy select a policy.
    I think my solution will have to lie in me creating some sort of script to help support this need. I don't think Acrobat Pro X has the capabilities to allow me to tinker with, say, creating a save PDF preset that will allow me to automatically apply a password policy.
    PS. I am using acrobat pro x.
