The last ten secnds of each song is passed up...

I am listening to an audio book in MP3 format. The tracks play fine until they get to the last 10-15 seconds and then the song skips forward. If I then go back to the last track and fast forward to the last 20 seconds, then it will play through without skipping,. This is HIGHLY annoying and any help would be greatly appreciated.
NOTE: This is only with one audiobook. All others play fine.

I think I just solved the problem thanks to you. When you mentioned that you were listening to a live album, I realized that's where I'm having my problem also. I went to the "get info" and the "options" tab for each track on the album and checked the "part of a gapless album" box. I did it for every track on the album and album replayed perfectly. Hope this solves your problem also.

How to replicate an MRL with only the last ver/rev of each component?

Hi,
This question is related to an effort to reduce the master.* and lbylog.* filesizes in hopes of achieving more efficiency during processing. Any proven suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to replicate an existing MRL, but it should only consist of the last version/revision for each component (faps, fors, grps, logs, dals, etc...).
Anyone know the quickest way to achieve this?
I've tried two methods, create a new blank MRL and promote resources from the existing to it, as well as duplicate the MRL and try to remove all older revisions, but these take over 4 hours at a minimum to complete.
I'm hoping there's a much more efficient option that you could provide.

You may use ADD/PROMOTE/EXTRACT functionality in LBYPROC utility. You can find samples & documentation in the below link. You have to use "(last)" in revision/version.

Hi youssef8888, you might also want to search your entire C drive to see whether your bookmark backup files might be in an unexpected location. I would try this pattern:
bookmarks-2013*.*

Speed gone from 6.5mb to 1mb for the last ten days...

I am not re setting the hub. I have left it just as it has always been. Nor am i connected to the master socket.
i had to switch off yesterday to uninstall an annoying piece of software, but apprt from that i just leave it switched on all the time, as i know this is supposed to stabilise the line. As you are aware this is not the first time its happened. The first 18 months were great with no problems. then the powerline adapters needed replacing. Then all was ok for 5 or 6 months. Since then its been dropping low every 4 to 6 weeks.

What causes iTunes Match, on an iOS device, to lose the cloud icon next to each song. On my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S one cloud shows up for a whole album to tap and download a whole album but the ones next to the songs are no longer there. No songs will delete from my phone once downloaded from the cloud by sliding my finger to the left over the song and tapping delete. Instead it just plays the song when I try to delete it. To delete my music from my device I have to go in to settings and delete all the music. This worked fine for the first week and then one day the cloud status next to each undownloaded song disappeared and started doing this.

ITunes is only playing the first few seconds of each song

I've searched high and low and cannot seem to find a resolution to my problem. When I'm listening to many of the songs in my library, iTunes will just stop playing and move to the next song after about 10-15 seconds. If I slide the progress bar at the top, the song plays from that point on for a few more seconds and skips. It seems that many people have had this trouble throughout the last few years, but in each of the instances where I've found someone talking about it, there is never a solution. The discussion just goes cold. I've tried checking the start/stop boxes for an affected song, but they won't stay checked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes this seems to have cropped up a few times recently without a definite solution.
Assuming that the files play Ok in another player and you have checked that the start stop boxes look OK in get Info, here a couple of things you could try.
Rebuild your library:

I would modify the method as follows, drag iTunes Library.itl to the desktop as well as iTunes Library.xml. Then you can put it back if this doesn't work.
Then try deleting your preference files, this causes iTunes to create new ones with default values so any custom preferences are lost.
First make hidden files visible in Folder Options>>View
Delete iTunesPrefs.xml in:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
And
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes

Itunes keeps cutting off the last few seconds of each track!

I'm trying to import from a CD, and for some (but not all) of the tracks being imported, when I go to play them from my Library, itunes skips the last few seconds of the song and jumps to the next one. Usually it wouldn't be a problem, because most tracks on CDs have some dead time at the end, but for these you are supposed to go directly from one track to another - without down time in between or skipping any of the track (one song is spread out over several tracks).
I've tried re-importing the tracks using both the AAC encoder and MP3 encoder, specifying the the track end at a particular time (stop time - this information shows up when I "get info" on the track, under options) and the track length in my library shows up as that exact time from the CD. itunes just doesn't play the full length of the track!
How do I get itunes to play each track to the very end before jumping to the next one?

iTunes should play the full track. Did you tick the 'Crossfade playback' checkbox in Preferences>Playback? If so, uncheck it.
If the problem persists you can check if it's an inporting problem or an iTunes setting problem by doing this:
In iTunes select a 'problemtrack'.
Choose 'Show Song File' from the File menu (command-R).
Select the file and control-click on it.
Choose 'Open With' and select 'Quicktime Player' as the program to open the file with.
Now play the 'problemtrack' in Quicktime Player to the end and see if it still skips the last seconds.
If it plays the full track, your imports are OK.

How can I change the speed of slides for each song on the custom list?

Hello - I am working on an anniversary slideshow in iphoto on my Mac. It contains 145 photos. I have a custom playlist of two songs. I want to adjust the speed of the slideshow in the beginning to be slower because the song is slower. Then I want the photos to move faster at the end. I did notice I can specifically define the speed for each of the slides manually, but that would take forever. Does anyone have a recommendation of a trick for doing this in batches?

What is your iPhoto version?
In iPhoto '11 you can change the duration for several slides at once, if you are using the Classic Theme or the Ken Burns theme.
In that case do the following: SElect several slides at once and open the Settings. Click the "This slde" tab and change the "Show this slide for ..." setting.

I just got my dads old iPhone 4. I restored it to factory settings and set it up with my apple id. The albums in my music are fine in iTunes but on my phone the albums are split and each song is its own album. Does anybody know how to fix this?

My dad has recently gotten a new phone and I got his old one. With his permission I restored it to factory settings and set up the iPhone 4 as a new phone with my apple id. Everything has downloaded fine but I have had many problems with my music. First it was where my phone didnt recognise my apple id, but I figured that out. Then it was where iTunes took one of my albums and split it so all the songs where their own albums. I fixed the album split on iTunes but its still like that on my iPhone. I have looked online everywhere and I still haven't found a solution! I'm getting super frustrated! Does anybody know how to fix this?

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.
