The Latest Safari

Where can I obtain the latest Safari 2.0.4 for updating my machine? When I search Apple for Safari downloads, the latest download is Safari 1.2. My machine is already upto 1.3.2.

sends you to a page where Safari is selected as the file to download. All you have to do is click on the "Free" button at the bottom. Try it - you'll see what we mean.
Since this is a user-to-user forum, we really couldn't tell you why Apple doesn't provide a link to download just the Safari application. There are more complicated methods to get it reinstalled, but those are made unnecessary by the download link provided above, made available by andyball-uk to help us all.

Hello,
There are no files like that in that folder (com.apple.safari). They all have long numbers with .jpeg or .png at the end. That's what I meant by I cannot find any files like those mentioned in all the helps I read today. BTW-it's still crashing - no particular pattern to it at all.
The only two things I have downloaded recently is a new version of Flash and a Mac-driven update to Office.

Go to the Apple Icon, Top Left of your Screen and Run Software Update...
Or go here > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
and download and Install the 10 6 8 Combo Update...
Be sure to Restart your Mac after the Install.

Can't I get the latest Safari 7 for my Snow Leopard?

Our bank suggests their program would work better if we update our Safari version. We have the highest version of Safari 5.1 for Snow Leopard. Do we have to download the Yosemite operating system in order to get improved Safari or can we download Safari 7 only into our Snow Leopard.
Also, has Apple stopped giving us updates for the Snow Leopard?

If you can't or don't want to update from Snow Leopard, another option would be to install Firefox and use it instead of Safari: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

The latest safari will not work with yahoo games

I just followed the latest updates from Apple to Safari and now I can't play any Yahoo games. The first notice said to reload Java which I did and it still will not work. I am very dissapointed in Apple for this, being a 20 plus year customer. And there does not seem to be an easy way to figure this out.

Installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo) will reinstall any missing system files.
Then restart your Mac and launch Safari.
Then go to Safari > Preferences > Security
Make sure Java is selected.
It's ok to do this even though v10.7.5 is already installed.

It's not your "machine" but your OS which is the limiting factor of course. I think the only way to upgrade your Safari is to upgrade your OS. As for whether it's necessary, it depends on what kind of features you need. Other browsers worth trying are FireFox and Opera.

I am sorry it has taken so long for me to respond to your post, but I have isolated my Safari crashes to my system not accepting some new RAM that I instaled. Recently Safari has been quitting unexpectedly. I've dumped my cache several times and even upgraded to snow leopard.l I have the latest version of Safari 5.0.5. The situation has gotten quite annoying and been going on for about three weeks now. What can I do to fix this short of bringing it to someone?
I restart and it works fine for awhile and then it quits again. I either restart and/or dump the cache AGAIN! This is getting quite tedious. I've even taken the battery out and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to stop the quitting.

You may be able to upgrade to a newer OS X so you can use Safari and access the featurres on Yahoo.

Is there any possibility that the new Safari-4beta is causing my menus to freeze-up? I find my menu bars are often dead and I have to switch to another program-- even those are sometimes dead too, and after 30 seconds one comes to life, then they all do, but then go back to frozen again.
I wouldn't put anything past Safari 4. Its mere presence causes the currency converter widget to give wrong answers.
I tried to use the uninstaller, but it would not work; then I tried to just install Safari 3.2.1 - but it would't do this "Can't install since you have a newer version on your Mac"-- Safari 4 Beta did NOT do this on TIGER- but this was my weekend to switch to Leopard after 13 months of prepartion...
If the unistaller won't work, I don't think there is any way to get back to the old Safari without either reinstalling OSX, or restoring from Time Machine (using the Utilities menu on the Leopard install DVD) and choosing a backup before you installed Safari 4.

How can I update my 2008 iMac to the latest Safari OS?

This iMac has not been used for several years. It has Safari Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) and is not compatible with my HP Deskjet 1512, but when I check for new software the messages says my software is up to date. Now whenever I open a web-page I have previously saved, the "saved as" page disappears and is replaced by a screen showing in grid view the last 12 pages of sites I have visited. I am ready to throw my computer out the window! I loaded the latest safari to and now at random pages will freeze. I can see what is going on, but cannot type anywhere! I have to shut down safari and go back in to even attempt to do anything. Please help!

Please help! I updated safari and yes it is an older desktop, but now all of the sudden tabs I have open will freeze on me. I can see what is going on, but am unable to type anywhere on the page! Anyone try to log into Intuit "It's Deductible" with the latest Safari(6.0.2) and Mountain Lion. I get a blank area where the userid and password should be entered

I have been using the Intuit web site for It's Deductible for the last couple years to enter charitable donations so I could easily import them into Turbo Tax come tax time. Previously I was using my older iMac with 10.5.8 and did not have any problems.

To all that replied to my posting. I did the migration when I got my new iMac. It seems it brought over all the cookies so I deleted all the cookies. The Sign In screen is now working as it should. Safari browser works just fine.
