The latest update of the 17 2.5 & 2.6GHz has a good 8600 processor. right?
ie. Apple aren't putting in faulty NVIDIA 8600 graphics processors

if you know your way around a MBP, you can always open it up and see. it would probably say "rev b" or "rev 2" or something to that effect.
i'd be curious to see what it says on those people's MBPs who haven't had it replaced yet. i'd do it myself, but i'm a clumsy oaf and would likely damage something thus voiding my warranty!

Both the I3 and I5 are dual core processors. The I3 should be the 3.2Ghz model, which has an upgraded video circuit over the base model, which is good. The 21.5" I5 would have the same video circuit. It also has turbo boost, that the I3 doesn't have, which can boost it's speed from 3.6Ghz to 3.86Ghz when needed.

I was attempting to download the latest update to my ipad which was to take 2 hours so i left it alone, when I came back my ipad would not turn on, now it has the itunes icon and a plug on the front, what does this mean? And now it can't be recognized on my computer at all?

Trouble installing the latest update on Mac book pro.
My Mac book pro seems to have froze while installing latest update. Bar is not moving and it has said about 2 minutes for over a half hour. Internet is working, I sent this off my ipad on wifi. I can not bring up the task manager. Not sure what to do.

Look I'm not sure if this can damage your laptop but many a times it happens with me while gaming my MacBook Pro freezes and then i just press and hold the power button for ten seconds and restart it and it just works fine for me.
In the process of updating, it never happened to freeze so it's upto you. -
Home Button not working properly after latest update
After installing the latest update on my Iphone 4S, the home button immediately started to give me problems. It works sporadically. Sometimes it allows me to close apps when I tap it twice, sometimes it won't do anything, sometimes it will go to the negative effect. This was not an issue prior to the latest update. I have version 7.1. Has anyone found a repair for this?

I downloaded the latest update for my ipad and now it won't open. the screen shows the itunes icon and a pic of the usb cable
That message means that you have to restore the iOS software because something went wrong. Follow the instructions here. I hope that you have a backup.

I was trying to do the latest update on my desktop for my Itunes. I got MSVCR80.dll is missing. I saw a post about deleting all the apple itunes programs, restarting and reinstalling. I tried that. As it was installing a message came up about "Service'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start systems services. I did a retry, got the same message, then hit ignore. It went on. Then a message popped up saying "Itunes not installed correctly" Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Now my Itunes program will not open at all. What gives? This is very frustrating and I am not very computer literate to begin with.Hi Iss9243,

I have downloaded the latest pages update on my iPad, but my iMac still has Pages version 4.3, and I cannot find out how to update it on my desktop. When I try to send something from my iPad pages via email to be opened on my desktop in Pages, it won't open in Pages. I get a message that it can't be opened because the version is too old. I sent the document as a PDF and it worked. But I want to be able to use Pages back and forth. HOw do I update the Pages version on my desktop iMac?
The file format used by the iOS versions of the iWork apps can only be read by the new iWork apps on your Mac - i.e. Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. Those versions for the Mac require Mavericks, OS X 10.9. The "too old" error on a Mac comes if you are trying to open an iWork '08 or earlier file in the newest apps. If you do have the newest apps you can open the files from your iPad.
If you can't or don't want to upgrade to Mavericks & the newest iWork apps your best option would be to export/share the files from the iPad to a type an older version of iWork can read such as Word, text, Excel, etc.
Or contact AppleCare. They made this mess, let them fix it. -
Whats up with the system lockups just frustrated as to why. I could be checking mail, surfing the web or using PS Elements 9. Makes no difference what I am doing it occationaly locks up and requires a cold boot (windows talk).
I don't think so, Lion with the latest updates is running fine for most of us.
Post the log for your next lockup or the previous one if you can isolate the timeframe.

Today I did a fresh install of Win 7 on T400 and install System update 5.02.007. But it didn't pick up the latest updates.
Does anyone if this is a known issue or what could be a problem for not picking up latest updates?

Just to rule it out, when you launch TVSU, open up Services and check the state of the System Update service.
I'm running the latest version of TVSU, which autoupdated itself the other day, and it's working fine. Under Services, when TVSU is not running, the service is not running. For reference, the service's start-up type is listed as Manual (Trigger start), and as soon as I launch TVSU (from the Control Panel) the service goes into a running state. When I quit, it stops.
If you don't see the service start, a test might be to start it and then try launching TVSU.

I have the iPhone 5 and have with 6.0.1 software version. Although I had them when I moved from iPhone 4 to the 5 (could play them), the latest update has most of my songs on the phone listed in grey (over 95% of them) and I can't play them. They are still listed in the iTunes library. When I look in the Summary for the iPhone, it shows Audio as only .16 GB - I have over 5 GB of songs, so what gives?
P.S. When I look at my Playlists most of the songs are greyed out. However, at the bottom of the list there is a cloud icon with a downward facing arrow. When I click on it each song starts to "load" and after a few minutes I have the songs back on in the list. I have to do this to all my playlists (I had over 100) in order to get access to all my songs. Then I did a sync and it happened again!
I use iCloud for documents and some other things (calendar, contact, etc.) but am not aware that I have anything music-wise in the cloud. Any thougnts?You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

How do I undo whatever went wrong after installing the latest update to Photoshop 2014 and suddenly when I tried to paint or touch up my illustration (book cover I'd drawn and painted, then scanned in and continued painting, changing. It's mostly done but I needed to send it like yesterday!!) OR touch up a photograph, black-like oily smudge-like substance sprayed around the point of the brush. I tried to fix by resetting but really didn't know what to do and probably made it worse. However, the problem happened after I updated the Photoshop Creative Cloud 2014 on my desktop 8.1 Windows and after a Tech helped update the regular CC Photoshop on my laptop 2007, 64 bit Windows to 2014. He promised to call back after giving it time to install but didn't for whatever reason on Friday. That happened to go up to the same update I did on my Windows 8.1 Windows. I have this deadline and really stressed. COULD IT BE THE UPDATE OR BOTH. REGARDLESS, CAN SOME EXPERT HELP ME UNDO WHATEVER THE UPDATE AND/OR I DID? I'm a God-gifted artist but only started using Photoshop CC, then updated to 2014--which, again, I like even better--when I began my monthly membership January or February 2014, although I had paid version 2002 and updated to paid version 2004 (ownership, not paid subscription like now). I've learned so much, including transforming, moving, stretching, with layers--all in the painting area with my illustrations--a little touch ups with photography. My iPhone 4s didn't do it until the latest update so imnpretty sure it's on the apple server some sort of bug maybe? Not sure. But whatever it is I really would like to download apps. It won't let me download any apps and my phone is brand new.
