The latest version (10.3.1) of itunes and "Do you want the application 'iTunes.app' to accept incoming network connections?"

I keep getting this message when I open iTunes. it is super annoying and won't go away. It is accepted in the firewall in the automatically allow signed software to to recieve incoming connections. what can i do about this?

Obviously you replaced the grey icons on the left for the colored ones, by replacing the iTunes.rsrc with a hacked iTunes.rsrc file. Restore the old file and everything will be OK. If you want the colored icons wait for the updated hack for iTunes 10.3.1.

  • I keep getting a message on startup saying 'Do you want the application "KodakAiOBonjourAgent .app" to accept incoming network connections?' It says settings may be changed in the Firewall pane of Security? Doesn't matter what I click (Deny/Submit).

I keep getting a message on startup saying 'Do you want the application "KodakAiOBonjourAgent .app" to accept incoming network connections?' It says settings may be changed in the Firewall pane of Security but I don't see how.  Doesn't matter what I click (Deny/Submit). The message still pops up on starup. I have a Kodak printer and am running Mavericks but I don't think it started when I upgraded.

Just fixed this on my machine, the easiest way to remove this pop-up assuming you are no longer needing that software to print is the following:
    Open Finder
    Go > Go To Folder...
    Type In: "~/Library/Application Support"
    Delete All Folders Named Kodak
    Open System Preferences
    Go to "Security & Privacy"
Click the lock and enter your admin password
    Click the Firewall Tab
    Go to "Firewall Options..."
    Find KodakAiO
Right-click KodakAiOBonjourAgent or equivalent (I forget the exact name)
    Click "Show in Finder"
Go Back to a folder and delete the Kodak Folder there.
Remove Kodak from Firewall Options by selecting it and clicking the " - " button the base of the list.
       or
    Open Finder
    Go > Go To Folder...
    Type In: "~/Library/Printers"
    Delete All Folders Named Kodak

  • Why is Firefox v36 asking "Do you want the application 'Firefox.app' to accept incoming network connections"? It never did before, so what should I say?

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.8 Have just upgraded Firefox from v35 to v36.
Every few minutes I get a message "Do you want the application 'Firefox.app' to accept incoming network connections?" It's never done that before, so why now (v36) and what should I say?
The message goes on, "Clicking Deny may limit the application's behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall panel of security preferences." The other option button is Allow.
The computer has always had Firewall switched on. Is Firefox suggesting I now switch Firewall off? What has changed since v35? Has Mozilla offered any information about this?
    Thank you.

    Hello FredMcD,
I wasn't suggesting they 'ask'. But I believe an entirely new and fundamental message like "Do you want the application 'Firefox.app' to accept incoming network connections?" warrants a few words of clarification.
I'm a fan of Mozilla, my comments are intended to be constructive!

  • Do you want the application 'iphoto.app" to accept incoming network connect

I had this same firewall pop-up happen to me when I ran both iTunes 10.1 and iPhoto '11.
I "fixed" the iTunes giving me the pop up by downloading iTunes from the Apple's iTunes site and installing that over my current copy. Afterwards, I no longer go the pop ups when I start iTunes. I don't know what the how, but I guess there is some difference between the iTunes downloaded through Software Update and full copy on the iTunes download site (whatever the difference is my Firewall in Snow Leopard seemed to distinguish between the two and flag the Software Update version of iTunes).
As far as iPhoto, I read in another thread to turn off the sharing features in iPhoto's preferences. I did this and I stopped getting the Firewall pop-up. This doesn't fix the problem, I guess, but it's a workaround the annoying pop ups every time iPhoto runs.
I do hope a proper fix for iPhoto arrives.

Under your firewall options you can specify what apps to let through
It would probably been better to post this under iTunes for Mac instead of iTunes for Windows

  • The latest version of flash player is installed and yet none of the programs that use it can find or access it. I am running Windows 7. Is there anything in the Registry that could be blocking flash player from being accessed or used?

The subject is the question. Files with flv extensions cannot be run or identified. Other software that uses flash player such as Rhapsody, can't find or use it either. It feels like a registry problem. Please do not waste time suggesting I uninstall and reinstall flash player as I have done than several times with no improvement or solution.

Flash Player is a plugin, and typically used by browsers (and sometimes other software.)  Flash, by itself, won't open flv files.  Instead you'd load those files into your web browser and it would load Flash to render them.
I don't know if Rhapsody uses the ActiveX or NPAPI versions of Flash Player.  Which do you have installed?  You can check this by going into the Programs and Features control panel and looking for the Adobe Flash Player entry(s).  It'll say NPAPI, PPAPI, or ActiveX at the end.

  • Every Time OS Asks If I Want To Let iTunes Accept Incoming Network Connection

    I believe since a recent upgrade ...
Every time I book my computer and launch iTunes I get a message asking if I want the app to accept incoming network connections.
I just hit Allow and the box goes away but this morning I figured I'd do what the box says and look at my System Preferences / Security & Privacy / Firewall settings.
And it seems that iTunes is set to allow.
    Any ideas?
I'm posting here in the Mavericks forum as I get the feeling this is an OS issue not iTunes but if people think I should post elsewhere please let me know.
    I'm running iTunes 12.1.0.50 and OS X 10.9.5 on an i3 iMac
    Thanks

    Hi Eric,
If you are still listening ...
I've been travelling and under the weather so am only just now getting back to this little issue.
When I go to my home / Library / preferences I see a bunch of files but not the com.apple.systempreferences.plist you suggested.  (I had to do two screen shots as the list was bigger than my screen).
And when I do a search in finder for the file the only thing that shows up is the email from this forum telling me of your reply.
Could the file be called something else or hiding somewhere else?
No big deal to click "Allow" every morning but ...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks again.
    Thanks

  • How do I stop my Mac from asking if I want to allow iTunes to accept incoming network connections?

Every time I open iTunes on my Mac, a drop down box asks me if I "want the application "iTunes.app" to accept incoming network connections?". I always click allow, but it's a pain to have to do this every time.
Does anyone know how I can permanently stop this box from appearing?
    Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with Keynote.
It's already set to accept incoming connections but it still asks whenever it's launched--annoying.
    Is there a fix?

  • HT4061 My iPhone prompted me to download the latest version of iOS7. I did, and now my phone won't power on. It just shows an iTunes icon on a black screen.

My iPhone prompted me to download the latest version of iOS7. I did, and now my phone won't power on. It just shows an iTunes icon on a black screen. When I connect my phone to iTunes on my laptop, the only option it gives me is to restore my phone's factory settings. But won't this erase all my photos, contacts, etc? Any suggestions?

It's in recovery mode. You don't have a choice. You have to restore the phone. Anything that was on it is already gone.
If you've been backing up/syncing on a regular basis, you won't lose anything except what's changed since the last backup.

Assuming you are not manually managing your music, verify the following:
You are using the latest version of iTunes
On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos"
In your music library you have checked all the songs you want to sync to your phone
There are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize this computer)
You have checked "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
When everything looks correct, sync your phone.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
