The Levels bar into the red after normalization

Sorry if this is a daft question, I am new to home recording and need to submit my audio via specific guidelines. I'm trying to get into audiobook production. I have a strong theatrical background but i don't know much about mastering audio so this has been challenging...
In the raw file, the levels were primarily in green, occasionally in yellow.
I used "match volume" to get my RMS to a certain level. Then I used a limiter to set to -3 db.
Now the file goes into the red. According to Amplitude statistics. there are 0 "possibly clipped samples" so why then do the levels keep going into Red? I thought that was indicative of clipping?
That's my first question, my second is does anyone know of any basic audio mastering classes for voiceover using Adobe Audition? Less about how to edit audio, more about anatomy of audio files and the meaning of each of these parameters and how they relate to one another.

I did originally try the "normalize" option and then the limiter but my RMS stats were too high to submit the audio book. They recommend normalizing peaks at -6db, I found this video which states that you can normalize via RMS levels by match volume: How to Normalize Audio Peak and RMS in Adobe Audition CS 5.5 Tutorial - Normalization - YouTube which I thought would at least bring that RMS number down so I was within their required range. It did so all my amplitude specs meet their specs now but I'm just a little perplexed by the red in the level bar.
This is all very new to me and I need to educated myself. I don't even really understand the difference between normalization and compression and why one is favored over the other. This is all really kind of over my head. I think I can learn it but I need someone to explain it to my in layman's terms.
When I do a raw recording, my Total RMS is always way over the recommended RMS the audiobook production company suggests a pre-mastered file should have. Lowering the gain makes the peak amplitude too low. That should be at -12 max while the RMS should be no greater than -28. RMS is around -40. So in a sorta related question, while recording, how do i lower my RMS without killing the peak amplitude.

Here is how to see RAM overloaded…
Reboot to see the system in it's default state.
Open TextEdit for the sake of it
Open Activity Monitor & Terminal from /Applications/Utilities.
Select the Memory tab
In Terminal enter the following command
memory_pressure -l critical
# note that is a lowercase L
RAM usage will climb, compression will begin the VM will become way more than the system has installed.
Eventually the system will start swapping (look for RED) - Watch the 'memory pressure' & 'Swap used' as this happens.
Try switching to TextEdit - the system is still coping !
Switch back to Terminal & hit ctrl+c to stop the process.
Watch the VM & memory pressure return to normal levels.
This OS kicks 4ss !

Check to see that Settings > General > Keyboard > Predictive is turned ON.

I've found no way to sort. For example, if I type the group "Rush" into the search bar, I get a list of songs recorded by rush and literally thousands of other songs and artists with the word rush in them. There is; however, no way to sort the results.

In the Search box click on the black Arrow and UNTICK the Search Entire Library.
Then the Search results in Songs view will be displayed in the main Grid and you can sort them by clicking on the column headers.
You can also turn on the column browser which can help with filtering

In FF29.0 bookmarks on the menu bar stop working correctly after exiting 'Customize': has anyone else noticed this?

Shortly after installing FF29.0 I noticed that the bookmarks menu from the 'Menu Bar' - NOT the new one that appears on the right of the screen - was not working correctly: specifically, when right-clicking on a bookmark to look for 'Open in a New tab' all the options were greyed out and I now realize that this occurs after exiting the 'Customize' screen, which effect I have consistently duplicated several times now; to restore functionality I have on each occasion had to close and re-open Firefox. This error does not appear to occur with the new bookmark menu that is associated with the bookmark icon at the top right of the screen. Has anyone else noticed this error?
(Personally, I prefer the bookmark menu from the menu bar, which incidentally I find easier to read than the new one and I like menu bars anyway.)

Is it possible to have the menu bar and the tabs on the same level?

Just downloaded Firefox 4 and I've started to get used to tabs being above the address bar (since it fits the theme so well), but I'm not used to the loss of the menu bar. When I bring the menu bar back, however, it creates a whole new level instead of being on the same level as the tabs like the Firefox button is. I'm just wondering if there's a way to make the menu bar and the tabs on the same level.

No, that is not possible.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

When will the color of the battery icon in the top bar will become red?

What is the percentage of battery life at which the color of the battery icon in the top bar will become red? 20% or 10%?

it is not a good idea to drain you macbook all the way down to see when it turns red. if it ever does - i've never seen mine red when it's down to 10%.
if you follow some of the threads here - some people who drained their battery all the way down to 0% can't turn their macbook back on.

The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

Do you see more photos, when you enable "Hidden Photos" in the "View" menu?
And that was afetr I took the connection with the NIKON out of my laptop.
Check, if you really imported into your iPhoto library - is the preference setting "Advanced > Importing: Copy items to the iPhoto Library" active? If not, connect your Nikon again - do you now see more photos?
If you imported into the iPhoto Library, check inside the package:
Select your iPhoto library in the Finder, ctrl-click it, use the command "Show Package Contents".
There will be a folder named "Masters" inside, with subfolders named by year - month - day. Look for the date you did the import and check, if the photos are inside.
If yes, copy this folder to a folder on your desktop to save the photos.
If not, search for a folder "Importing" inside the library. Is it there? Then copy these photos to a folder on the Desktop.
If you found your photos, backup and rebuild your library.

Yes it will be in your page template. You just need to move #NAVIGATION_BAR# substitution under the #LOGO# substitution tag, probably something like this should work
