The library already opened on network Mac
I work with Final Cut Pro X library that shared over Thunderbolt bridge network by NFS. Sometimes Final Cut Pro X crashed, it's not a problem. Problem is, if I open Final Cut Pro again, appears an error: The library already opened on network Mac. But i know that is not true. So, if i need to open library which crashed Final Cut , i need restart both Mac who connected over thunderbolt bridge.
Question is: Can i resolve that problem without restarting both Mac?
Where is zooming not working?

Aperture 3 crashed while importing a library. When I attempt to reopen the Libary I was importing in it says its already open and I must quite to open. That does not work.
I have tried repairing permissions. Repairing Libary, and rebuilding Libaray but when it attempts to repair or rebuild I get the error message Library already open must quit to open.
How can I reset this file so that I can rebuild library?2nd time attempting to rebuild Library (CMD OPT) succeeded. Perhaps after showing package contents of the Library and then closing reset a flag.

I cant get iTunes to open on my macbook pro, when I click on the icon it shows the iTunes name on the top of the page but the library wont open , and when I click the tabs it doesnt do anything. What can I do? Its driving me insane!!

When I click on iPhoto(9.5.1) i get "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared." but i downloaded the up-grader, used it and it tells me the library can open with the current version... Then when I click on the iphoto again i get the same message "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared."'
What should I do?The upgraded is only necessary for libraries created with iPhoto '07 or eearlier. Just double click the library to open it in iPhoto, and let it upgrade, if it has been created by a newr version.

Transferring iTunes from Mac to PC with library already on a network drive
I recently bought a MacBook Pro and need to transfer all of my iTunes content from my Windows laptop. This is for use with my retina ipad mini.
I already had my iTunes library located in a folder on a NAS drive. Note I don't have any iTunes server or home sharing set up - I simply located the library on the NAS drive. Anyway I have pointed the Mac iTunes to the folder and can sync fine with my mini. However none of my books or music (other than a couple of items I purchase from apple) has appeared in the library on the Mac iTunes.
The content is however all still there on my iPad mini.
The guides I've found on here don't seem to apply to my situation. I am not moving the physical library at all - I just want the Mac iTunes to start using the library that's already there on my NAS.
Any ideas how I can get this to work?
Also how do i get my books content into iBooks, either from my mini or from the library?Hold down the option/alt key while starting iTunes and guide it to the library.itl file in the iTunes folder on the NAS.

Sorry, I am not sure what is meant by a Windows account. My wife and I share an internet account, each with our own ID and password. We share a computer each with our own desktop. Prior to the last Mozilla update, it was common for each of us to have Mozilla open on our respective desktops. Since the update, that is no longer possible. If one of us has left Mozilla open, the other cannot open it on their desktop unless the first is closed. I hope that helps.

any help is welcomeThat is a simple WIndows setting you need to adjust. Your Parallels seems to have changed the default "open with" program in your windows installation. The way to fix it depends upon your version of Windows, but you can probably get there my holding down teh shift key and clicking the right mouse button on the file you are trying to open. Doing that should add a new line to the right-click menu "Open with..." select that and in the pop-up select your windows app you want to use, and check the checkbox to make it the default app for that file extension.

I have a new external drive that I moved my iTunes Library into. Can I now delete that Library in my computer (Mac) drive? How do I do this. I need more space in my computer.
Yes, assuming you've confirmed that consolidation has been successful. Might be a good idea to rename the old iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder on your internal drive as Old Media and test a few things before finally deleting it.
Note that splitting up your library like this will make it harder to transfer to a new/restored system in future. Before you get to that point you might want to review my post on making a split library portable. You should also invest in a second external drive so that you can make a secondary backup copy of your library.

I can not open mozzilla after updating to the latest version. I click on it and nothing happens. I tried to uninstall but it tells me to close the mozzilla that is opened. I do not see any opened.
Did you check: File > Work Offline
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

i have included a VI to explain my problem that's how my application is build only then a lil more complicated but i left it to the basics since i can't share my full VI. The case is that if you press start the program should start and load a movie however if you either go to the other tab or when you click 'start' again the program should close the IMAQ file i just get strangled by the fact that i have no clue which loop to stop and where to close the video. Help would be greatly appreciated

I think having two parallel while loops in this case doesn't seem necessary (and should be avoided).
As you said, you want to close/stop the video "stream" in the first tab when you open the second Tab (and probably also the other way around).
This would mean that you'll have to use a "framework" that allows you to have several states and can detect a change between tabs, correct?
The easiest way to implement this is by using a Design Pattern as starting point.
Can you make a flow chart that fully explains what the requirements are of your program?
This will allow you to choose the right design pattern.
If you are not comfortable with flowcharts, then a more complete description of the requirements would allow me better to guide you to an appropriate "framework".
Based on the current requirements a simple state machine could maybe do the trick, but this of course depends on the additional (not yet mentioned) requirements you might have.
I'm asking this especially because you refer to a "more complicated" top level application.

Unable to add picture to Indesign file: error the file is already open.
I am hoping that someone may have an answer for my question as I can't seem to find a solution anywhere else.
The Setup:
We have a primarly windows network with windows servers and network shares. (Yes all the shares are NTFS formated)
We have six Desktop MACs OS X 10.5.4 added to this network and the MACs have loaded on them the complete Adobe CS4 suite.
The problem:
The issue happens when one of our users is attempting to drop a PSD file into an opened Indesign file.
They user opens the Indesign file first from the network share in folder1, the user the goes to folder2 and attempts to drag and drop a PSD into the Indesign file they get the error the file is already open.
So my first question what would be the most likly cause of this error?
Second question is we also have a program called AdmitMac loaded on the MACs for authenication with the servers.
Could this be interfering in anyway? AdmitMac uses Kerberos authenication, do the Adobe program recognise this Authenication type?grmg,
There is nothing wrong with the ID file or the PSD file. If the user moves both files to their desktop the drag-n-drop function works just fine.
Even if just one of the files is on the desktop and the other on the network the drag-n-drop works fine.
The issue is when both files are on the network server, that is when we get the error.
Also it doesn't seem to matter what the file type is, the same thing occurs, if both files are on the Windows Server we get the "File already open" error
The Artist just need to make links in ID to the picture files until the final revision.
(We would perfer to keep the files on the server for backup purposes. In the past we have had one to many contractors come in to do work and they do everything on the desktop and when they leave they sometimes delete their desktop. As such the files never gets backed up.)
I need to know what tweak, change or update I can apply so that both files can be on the server and the Drag-n-Drop function still works.
