Since i installed Lion, i've had many problems :
1) My scrroll it doesnt work with Magic Mouse, before whith Leopard it was working fine.
2) All time my system crashed, freezed, and many programs it doesnt respond.
3) Many times i can't shut down my Mac.
4) My favorite programs are not compatible now !!! Corel Draw, Pro Tools, Logic Express !!
Tomorrow I'll formate My iMac to install Leopard again.

Both phones must be logged into the same iCloud account and are therefore getting each others' iMessages.

I'm basically wondering if I can skip an update by missing out snow leopard and going directly for Lion on Disc in a box (probably, prefereably family box set of Lion, iWork, iLife...)

Your Mac must have an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor to run Lion.
Stuff back in that vintage was mostly Core Duo or earlier and isn't supported, or might be Core 2 Duo or later and is... Most of the C2D processors started showing up in Mac systems back around the end of 2006, IIRC.

Can I download and run the Lion software on my old mac?

I have a MacBook, from 2007. Snow Leapord is intstalled on it, and I have Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Just bought a new hardrive with more memory, but then iCloud came out, and I need to know if I can run Mac OS X Lion on my computer. Otherwise I need to start looking for a new computer.

Your best bet is to call the Vodafone technical support helpline. Since each manufacturer writes custom software for each OS. They might be working on new drivers...

Hi, the last install dvd that came out for mac's was Snow Leopard,10.6.3. Lion is a download from apple. You cannot just install it over Yosemite. You would have to backup your drive to save files you want and do a clean install. You might want to look into getting more memory. You would make address lables with the Contacts app.
If you don't have the user name and password used to set up the machine then you need to purchase the apps for yourself.

When we purchased our mac two years ago, we set up the iCloud account. this past winter I created a new iCloud account thinking I was changing it. I now cannot access anything on the old iCloud acct and my computer hasn't been backed up either in awhile

Well, you can go to Manage your Apple ID and change the password if you can answer the Security Questions:

If you cannot remember the Security Questions you can contact iTunes Support to reset them for you:
New iTunes Support - US and ww
Once you get your password reset and you can access your account info on Manage your Apple ID, you can change your ID. You won't be able to use the same email address that you are using for the new ID unless you change that one to something else. But, if you can get back into your old ID and change it to a new email address, then you can go on using that old ID, and just manually move the iCloud stuff you added to your new ID back onto the old one. Most of the stuff (like Contacts, Calendar, Notes) can be added by logging onto https://www.icloud.com on your Mac and doing it that way (it is a lot simpler when you have an actual keyboard in my opinion)

Lion server users on that Mac or the network?

This question is so 101 I'm almost afraid to ask it: when you create users in the Lion server software, are these users for that specfic Mac (just like any Mac user) or are they user on the network who will share the server services?
I can't get past this fundamental set up. I only want one user to admin the server software, but I have 5 users of other macs in our office who I want to be able to use the server services, like email and wiki.
How do I set them up?

Look in the Server App, if the users there have a small blue globe on them then they are Network Users. If they don't have the globe then you aren't serving an Open Directory Master.
Follow the advice in the Next Steps panel in the lower part of the Server App.

I have Sun Life Financial bookmarked and when I click onto it, as it is trying to get on the site, the https tool bar goes wonky. Then the pinwheel comes on and I have to force quit. This does not happen on our other apple computer only on my new one

I have not used this app before so please excuse me if I am duplicating my question. I am trying to get onto one of my books marks but when I click on it, it starts going all wonky in the https bar. Then the pinwheel comes on. When I force quit and then go back into Safari it comes up on that company website but a different section that is asking me to check the date on my computer and some other things that could be a problem. This does not happen on our other mac only my new lap top. This problems only started this weekend. Any ideas?

I attempted to remove cookies, but I can not identify any of the cookies on the list with the PrimeVest web site. No PrimeVest, no PVs, nothing that looks like it came from them.
I have also reported the problem to PrimeVest and their tech did answer. He suggested erasing the browsing history (temporary internet files), which I did with no effect. He also had me check for the correct starting page address, which was OK. He stated that they are aware of a problem and it is on their list. No indication of how far down that list though. His only cure was to use IE for now, which I was already doing. Perhaps he can tell me which cookies to remove.

Either new or an erased drive is fine, as long as it is formated Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
By the way: I find that Carbon Copy Cloner is a much simpler and efficient "clone"(backup) solution, especially if you're using an external drive.

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
If you have a PPC Mac you cannot sync your idevice without a newer computer. See the end of this post for options.
If it says you have an Intel Mac you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first:

Options if you cannot upgrade: iTunes Store purchases can already be downloaded directly. Use iTunes Match to put non-Store music in iCloud, then download to your device from there. Backup your device directly to iCloud over a wireless connection. Photos can be downloaded from the Camera Roll using iPhoto or Image Capture.

Trying to link our mac to the tv

I have looked everywhere but cannot find exactly what we need. We would love to link our mac up with our tv so that we can watch the bbc iplayer and dvds on the screen instead of huddling round the computer but I am very confused as to which leads we need. The mac is a Power PC G5. The TV is a panasonic quintrix and about 3 years old.
Alternatively is it possible to link my iphone up with the telly easily with any cables that are widely available or do I have to order the specific cable from apple?

Our CMS does not support new version of Firefox. Can I have the "downgraded" version of Firefox AND the upgraded Firefox both on my Mac, so I can use the older Firefox to manage my CMS?

Essentially, the CMS we use to manage our website (mainstreetartsfest.org) is Sitefinity, and apparently it doesn't support the newest version of Firefox. And, from what I understand, this version of Sitefinity is not being upgraded at the support level - we are now being asked to spend $$ on moving to a new CMS to support the browsers. Chrome, Safari also a problem. Only IE works, and we all have Macs. I want to know if we can have the older Firefox AND the upgraded Firefox both on our computers so we can use the new Firefox for general browsing, and resort to the older, 3.2 version for managing the CMS. I know I can download a previous version - but I would rather not replace our new version of Firefox in the process.
