The little light keeps flickering on my powerbook!

Recently I noticed that the little light on the button that opens my powerbook keeps flickering while I'm using the computer. What gives?

It's ok to be nervous, however resetting the PMU is simple. Shut down your PB. Unplug the AC adaptor, remove the battery and hold the power button down for 5 seconds. Reinsert the battery, plug the AC adaptor back and and restart the PB. You'll have to reset the time/date after this procedure. From there just use the PB as you would normally and monitor it to see if this issue reoccurs. If it does then consider taking a trip to the Apple store.

When connected to the charger, is the "no battery" symbol showing?
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

I have a mac book pro. It is 3 years old. when I push the button to turn on the computer, it does not start. The little light comes on, but the computer does not start up

I have a macbook pro. It is three years old. It has been working perfectly fine. However, as of yesterday, whenever I push the "on" button, the computer does not turn on. The little light comes on indicating that the computer has started, but there is nothing on the computer screen, and it does not make the usually noise that it makes when it cycles on.
Any suggestions?

Check the battery status to make sure it has a full charge (and that the charger is working). Then make sure the screen backlight is turned up.
If the backlight is up then, try forcing the machine to shutdown (hold the power button for 5 - 10 seconds). Then restart the computer(listen for the start up chime).
If the computer does start up and you still cannot see anything reset the PRAM by forcing the machine to shut down (hold power button as before), then press the power button and start holding the key combo
<Command>+<Option>+p+r
until you hear the start up chime two or three times, then release the keys and allow to boot

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

After you hold the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears (ignore the red slider to shut down) then let go of both buttons and you don't need to do anything else. Your iPad will restart all by itself. Just be patient, but leave your iPad alone after the Logo appears.

The update failed - using a USB to microUSB lead (that Apple annoyingly don't include!), try to restore the AppleTV software to current version software using instructions here:

Pay attention to differences in power connection depending on whether or not you have AppleTV2 or AppleTV 3.

Make sure you quit all your applications before shutting down.
And try resetting the SMC.

My iPod shuffle went through the washer and dryer. The little light turns on but no music comes through any headphones. ???

Okay so I found my iPod had gone through the washer and dryer. It was perfectly dry. I tried to turn it on, and nothing. But I thought maybe it's just dead. So I plugged it in, let it charge...when I tried to turn it on, the little light went green. I thought hurray!! But I put in the earbuds and heard nothing except some random "Battery level 75 percent." On my sister's earbuds. On my earbuds, which went through the washer too, nothing.
What to do???

It's likely that your iPod is toast. It does not play well with water and soap.

The little light

So you know the little light that glows when the MacBook is asleep or when you are using it? Well, today mine isn't glowing at all. Is that an indication of a problem? Is it just broken? Should I be concerned?

Not under warranty anymore. I did not purchase Apple Care.

yes, light is still MIA even after rebooting.
Or do one of those parameter reset actions?
Now that's a good idea. I'll try resetting the PRAM, and refresh what other things I can reset. OS X has made me lazy in that regard - used to have to rebuild the desktop and such all the time. Thankfully those days are over.
What does Apple say?
Nothing so far. This forum is the first place I've mentioned the issue. Anyone else have this problem? Probably just dead hardware (burnt-out LED or something), but I wanted to check with others.
