The longest pending issue

Question

Dear experts,
I just realized that i got stuck into this issues also six years back from now.
It remained unresolved.Today after six years,accidently i am in same scenario and
surprsingly exception is same.
Excpetion is NullPointer exception on attempting to create home object
In case i do not use this code

InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(props);I always get this exception

After using this code,i do not get above exception but yet another exception in further line

}Now the way i am deploying is through deploytool.First creating .ear file,then File->New->EnterpriseBean,giving jarname including all classes.
Setting EJB,Local remote interface and Local home interface .But i get Nullpointer exception when i try to create homeobject.
This happens in line Salary bean = home.create(); of appclient program.

I am using SDK 1.4 and J2EE 1.4.
