The Magic of Auto Audio Sync!

I am a very sceptical person and when I heard about FCP X's auto sync feature six months ago I expected the worst.
Last week I bought a Sony Voice Recorder to use as a "poor-man's radio mike" and tested it with an 11 minute video shoot.
I synchronised the audio and video manually and after discovering that it had lost sync by 2 frames during the 11 minutes I retimed it to get it spot on.
Today I decided to do the same test but leaving all the work to FCP X . . . . . and I was not too optimistic!
I needn't have worried as the auto-sync feature worked perfectly, and it even appears to have retimed the audio so that there was no 2 frame drift at the end.
So it looks like the fabled Auto-Edit button is one step closer!

I read your question about doing it with AVCHD and just finished testing when Tom's answer came in!
I can confirm that Tom is correct as you can see from the screenshot of the AVCHD clip and its audio together with the voice recorder's audio.
It took just over a minute on my slow iMac to sync the 11 minute sequence.
I started my recorder running several seconds before the camera and FCP X has very cleverly inserted several seconds of black video at the start.

No - but I guess that Double Click on clip/sequense or ctrl-Click on it might open it.

DHCP Failover Auto Config Sync

Downloaded most current version of script and set it up in lab. It works but the log file (.\dhcpautosynclogfile.txt) is growing at a fast rate. Entries for sync complete and automatically sync again are being posted at rate of 3 or 4
times per second.

Questions is - why is log file filling at such an alarming rate ?
And what script is that? Who wrote it? Have you contacted the author?
Believe it or not, we haven't heard of every script ever written. =]

IOS 7 bluetooth syncing with iPad on auto audio system

on my iPhone 5, when syncing ios 7 with auto audio, i only get audio sound through bluetooth. iPod syncing did not get any music sound, though the the syncing was working.

Ok more info. Looks like Apple broke the Audio Books. I can get apps and music to sync to Ipad on IOS 7.
Any audiobooks, be they Audible or through AudioBook Builder they are a no go. I see an inocuous message in the Sys logs showing that Itunes cannot find IPod_4g.tiff. This seems to cause Itunes to hang and creates a dump of the hang.

The tracks are from voice recordings that were downloaded from an extrernal drive and weren't necessarily tagged as spoken audio. Do I need to go back into itunes and relabel these tracks so they will show up on my ipad2?

With the iPad connected to the computer, while iTunes is running, click on the iPad name on the left side under devices. Click on the Movies tab and look for Movie Rentals. You want to "Move" the films to the iPad.

Is the audio sync bug (related to custom clip speeds) still present in iMovie 11? I encountered it in 09 and was wondering if it was fixed in the latest version.

I haven't encoutered since iMovie '09.

Hi. I used FCP to edit various wedding videos. I have never had problems edditing my own videos in NTSC dv or hd. Somone asked me to edit their tapes wich have been recorded in PAL ( european) format. I don't know what amera or format they used but when i try to import them i keep getting the sound out of sync error. I checked and it seems that the sound is ok but would like to get rid of this error just to be sure. I am importing as dv-pal in fcp. any ideas as to how to find out the bitrate or sound type or how to get rid of this error? like i said in NTSC i don't have issues. Also in NTSC when i import a clip it segmets it to 1 clip per shot and for PAL it does not do that . It makes the whole tape one clip. Any sugestions? Thank you.

To check the audio sample rate easily in the browser just scroll the blue bar at the bottom of the browser. If you haven't rearranged the columns it should be around the middle somewhere.
Curious, is your audio out of sync in the viewer as well as the timeline/canvas? If it is in sync in the vieweruse Shanes multi-clip sequence trick to create a sequence with the correct settings. Control click on one of the clips, choose make multiclip sequence, then delete the extra muticlip sequence folder from the browser. As long as all of the imported clips have the same settings they will all fit nicely into this new sequence.
But... if the clips are out of sync in the viewer then you have a problem with the way they were captured.
You used the word import. Just to clarify, are you importing clips from a disk or hard drive that SOMEONE ELSE previoulsy captured? Or are you using the term import to describe capturing the footage into your computer from the source tapes yourself. Import and capture are two totally different things.
If you are importing data that someone else already captured and the audio is out of sync then you need to either recapture the tapes or get him to recapture them because they were no doubt captured with the wrong settings. If you are importing yourself, find out what camera they were shot with and get the settings.

You aren't going to sync with my MacBook when I make a purchase.
And you are not going to autosync your iPod with the MacBook unless you tell it to sync or plug it in.
You can enable Automatic downloads when you make a purchase.
iTunes settings > Store.
When you make a purchase, it will automatically download that purchase to devices set up the same way.
This is not the same as autosyncing your device to your computer (as you first asked).

Panasonic DVX-100 audio sync tool not showing up in the tools menu

Using FCP 7 in new Mac Pro with a clean install. I following the directions for copying the DVX-100 audio sync file into the proper folder /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins/
The directions say the Offset Audio Sync command should now appear in the Tools menu. It does not.
I have tried trashing preferences - reinstall the Audio Sync Tool - but it still does not show up.
I use the Panasonic Camera and with my earlier editions of FCP I had no problem installing and using
the Audio Sync file.
Anyone have the same problem or know a solution?

I am not sure what's happening with IE9 (no live site) but I had real problems viewing your code in Live View - until I removed the HTML comment marked below. Basically your site was viewable in Design View but as soon a I hit Live view, it disappeared - much like IE9. See if removing the comment solves your issue.

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

Slowness in the video's I view. The video is out of sync with the audio?

When I'm on a website that displays video and audio, the two are not in sync with one another. This constantly happens. Whether I'm watching a music video on youtube, or watching a discussion on yahoo finance, the problem is always there.
