The manufacture date of T400 WXGA TFT LCD monitor

I ordered my new T400 in October, 2009, and recived almost three weeks later. Definitely, it took longer time than they promised me. Whatever, I got the laptop, finally.
Now I have a question about the monitor. I used a software named EVEREST 5.30 (http://www.lavalys.com) to check the information of the hardware. Everything is okay except the monitor. It says the manufacture date is 45th week in 2006? Can you believe it, a monitor, potentially, made three years  ago for my new laptop???
I called lenovo, and they told me the LCD factory is probably using the same date for all monitors of this kind no matter when they're made. Can you believe it?
They didn't have such complain before. If I can find different case for T400 with same kind monitor, they will accept my complain. Am I responsible to prove that or lenovo's?
Anyway, we can do that, right? Hey, all T400 people, it's time to show our power! What's your manufacture date of the WXGA TFT LCD monitor? I will appreciated if you can post your LCD manufacture data as well as when you bought you laptop!  Many thanks to everyone.

My point is that even if the LCD sat for 15 years if it wasn't in use it wouldn't be prone to any more failures then one which is only a year from manufacture with the same amount of hours on it.
Though I don't have intimate knowledge of every laptop which Lenovo has manufactured but I have personally swapped a T61 15.4in widescreen into a T500 15.4in.
It is probable what they are saying is that your laptop screen could not be that old because it is improable one would be in storage for that length.

What you said could be true.
However, I don't think customers prefer a LCD made several years ago, even the quility may be better.  I have only one-year warranty, who knows what will happen after that.
BTW, the "old" LCD I mentioned doesn't mean a used one.

    How to encode a Toshiba Hard Disk Drive Serial Number?
    The Toshiba serial number (S/N) includes details of the date of manufacture. The first digit of the serial number indicates the Month of manufacture and the 2nd digit indicates the Year.
    Example:
    M Y x x x x x x x
    M = Month
    Y = Year
    The month digit goes from 1, for January, through to 9, for September, and then X, Y and Z, for October, November and December.
    Examples:
    2 8 1 7 0 0 0 1 A
    2 = February
    8 = 1998
    3 0 5 4 4 3 0 6 T
    3 = March
    0 = 2000
    X 9 D 7 8 3 3 1 T
    X = October
    9 = 1999
    The remaining digits contain information about factory and production line, and some digits are reserved for a continuously running serial number.

  • Finding the manufacture date on an access point via software

    I'd like to determine the manufacture date of our access points because we plan on converting to LWAPP? Can someone tell me the what CLI command to use and which field has the answer. thanks.

    Hi Thomas,
    Not sure about finding the Manufacture date (maybe you are trying to find out about the presence of a MIC certificate) but we did go through this coversion from Autonomous to Lightweight on our infrastructure last summer.In this process we did convert about 70 1121's and 1231's to LWAPP and it worked very well. Here are some relevant docs;

    Self-Signed Certificate Manual Addition to the Controller for LWAPP-Converted APs
    LWAPP secures the control communication between the AP and the WLC by means of a secure key distribution. The secure key distribution requires already provisioned X.509 digital certificates on both the LAP and the WLC. Factory-installed certificates are referenced with the term "MIC", which is an acronym for Manufacturing Installed Certificate. Aironet APs that shipped before July 18, 2005, do not have MICs. So these APs create an SSC when they are converted to operate in lightweight mode. Controllers are programmed to accept SSCs for the authentication of specific APs.

  • T400 WXGA+ LED LCD bad display?

    I'm really at the end of my rope.
    I've been trying everything I can in the graphics driver settings (both ATI 3470 and Intel x4500, I got the switchable graphics system) to try and make it look better, but nothing I can do is fixing it.
    Basically, the display looks washed out and the colors are terrible.  It's the worst display that I've ever used to put it simply (granted, the super-cheap Acer that I didn't buy probably looked worse, but I purposely avoided it because of the terrible looking display).  It is bright, but that's it really.  The contrast and saturation seems completely blown out and what is there looks grainy.
    I was really expecting a gorgeous display after reading the review at notebookreview.com.  But as it seems in the past, what I got was not the LG display that was in the review, but a Samsung LCD panel that looks terrible.  Is there anything that I can do other than return the laptop?  It seems very difficult (especially after reading the T61 LCD threads) to argue to Customer Service that the display `looks terrible.'  I've used multiple laptops over the years and none of them have looked this bad.
    The FRU for my display is: 42X6318  SBB 14.1 W X G A +TFT
    I can't get anything to show up through the FRU lookup.   According to Everest Home, the display is an  LTN141BT.  Is this even an LED display?  Is the only reason for getting an LED display brightness over everything else?  I certainly wouldn't have paid more for it if I knew it would look like this.  I can't find the specifications for this panel on the Samsung web site, so it's hard to tell.  Could someone from Lenovo give me more information?.

    Not that anyone probably cares, but there should be a box on it's way to take my shiny new T400 back to a service center.  The only hitch that I had with calling Customer Service is that since I only even ordered the laptop just over a week ago the warranty information for my serial number wasn't in the system yet.  Everyone was very helpful and so far I'm really impressed with the service.
    I am still really nervous though, because I really don't think that I can use the laptop with this particular panel (or one like it!).  My only hope is that they replace the panel with a better one (hopefully the LG that everyone else seems to be getting!).  I've been running around checking the colors against every monitor/laptop I can find and it really just looks bad.  Mostly it's red; it looks more like an orange.  I took a side-by-side picture of a full screen of straight red with it and my old Dell Latitude and you can really see the difference in hue.  Green looks a little funny too, although Blue seems fine.  The Dell is probably the most favorable comparison I've got, since even it dosen't look terribly great compared to a desktop LCD/CRT.

  • TFT LCD MONITOR GOING MAGENTA (PINK)!

    my monitor keeps going a magenta colour every now and then and then seems to switch back to normal. however its begining to get more frequent. i can still use all the apllications though and it runs as normal, just not sure if this is a monitor problem? any ideas?
    emma.

    The fact the symptoms are the same doesn't necessarily mean the problem is the same. There are some displays, for example, which cause a magenta color cast on almost any Mac but which work perfectly with some and with all PCs. I have one such (a MAG LCD) and it is clearly an issue with the display and compatibility with Macs. The same symptoms with an Apple Cinema Display is clearly not a compatibility issue, nor a generic brand-based one.
    On the other hand, a general color cast can often be caused by a slightly loose connector, or by a damaged connector causing an intermittent or failed contact on just one pin. It's been found, for example, that the DVI/VGA adaptors supplied with minis can result in such poor contact, giving odd display issues which disappear when a different adaptor is used instead. Similarly with some minis (particularly the early ones I suspect) if the connectors are not done up tightly.
    There is nothing to say that in any specific case such as yours, the root cause of a display issue such as this could not be a hardware issue, or firmware, or indeed MacOS settings relating to color balance and saturation. It's not a generic issue relating to all similar systems of course because otherwise we'd see it reported with all minis of the same specification when used with all ADC displays of the same type.
    Given you have an authorized service provider working on the problem, which puts them in a situation where they can at least get their hands on the equipment and run tests and try possible solutions, it seems to me reasonable to let them keep going with it - at least to the point where they can give you an educated guess as to where the problem lies.

  • Can the material date of manufacture be captured

    HI
    currently, the date on SAP is the date we capture the receipt against the PO for a raw material,my  question is  related to using another field so that you can capture the manufacturing date and run a report to track the dates of stock on hand.
    this is for raw materials procured externally for which i want to track the manufacturing dates and want to run a report to see what is on stock.

    Hi,
    Inorder to capture Date of Manufacturing you dont have any standard by SAP to have a tab in PO,
    But it can be achieved while taking GR of a material.To get this you need to follow few steps.
    Firstly create a material with *Batch management active and Min. Rem. Shelf Life and Total shelf life
    Now create a Class in CL02 and assign the standard characteristic LOBM_VFDAT which calculates the Expiration date, shelf life
    And asign this above created class in classification view of your material
    Now if you create a PO after all above settings and do GR then while doing MIGO you can see Date of Manufacture in Batch tab.
    Here you can give the manufacturing date of the material so that system will calculate the shelf life expiry date by itself with the sort rule which has to be created in Tcode CU70.
    In creation of sortrule in CU70 you can define whether you want FIFO or LIFO of isuing the material.
    Thanks.

  • NI PCI-1424 used to grab TFT LCD Signals

    Can the NI  PCI-1424  parallel digital frame grabber be used
    to capture the an image from the siganal used to drive standard TFT LCD
    panels?  The LCD panel that I have has 6 digital bits per RGB, a
    vertical and horizontal sync, and a pixel clock at 40Mhz.  I want
    to use this to automate the testing of the LCD driver signals.
    Currenly we have a person verify the image on the LCD screen.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello niklander,
    While the NI PCI-1424 card does support RS422, TTL, and LVDS standard video formats, it can only support a pixel clock rate up to 50 MHz.  National Instruments does not currently manufacture any Vision hardware that supports TTL or SVDS standard video formats and pixel clock rates greater than 50 MHz.  For more information on our Vision hardware products, please browse the NI Vision Hardware website.
    National Instruments does, however, produce a line of high-speed LVDS Digital Instruments that can support maximum clock rates up to 200 MHz.  You may want to consider one of these high-speed instruments, but please keep in mind that this high-speed product line is not designed for Vision applications.  If you choose to try an NI high-speed LVDS Digital Instrument, you may face significant development challenges when architecting your application.

  • Inbound Delivery (DESADV): How to transmit SLED/BBD and Manufacture Date?

    Hello
    We have another challenging task to solve. Here is the scenario (SAP Release ERP 6.0):
    One Lindt company (supplier) sends an outbound DESADV IDoc to another Lindt company (Purchaser). Here the inbound DESADV should create an inbound delivery. Finally, the inbound delivery is replicated to the external WHS partner who does the Goods Receipt against this inbound delivery.
    The outbound DESADV contains all logistical data including SSCC. In particular, the batches have a manufacture date (LIPS-HSDAT) and a SLED/BBD (LIPS-VFDAT).
    SLED = Shelf Life Expiration Date
    BBD = Best-Before Date
    In the outbound DESADV the SLED/BBD is mapped by default into segment E1EDL24/VFDAT. For the manufacture date we implemented an user-exit.
    How does the inbound delivery look like? The batch number appears as "Vendor batch". The SLED/BBD does NOT show up even though the inbound DESADV contains the date in E1EDL24/VFDAT. This inbound DESADV did NOT contain any controlling segment E1EDL19. Adding this segment (QUALF = 'VDT' = Shelf Life Expiration or Best-Before Date) had no effect.
    Here is my assumption why the SLED/BBD does not show up in the inbound delivery created by the inbound DESADV:
    Because we do not yet have the "real" batch (just the "Vendor batch") the system ignores any SLED/BBD. As soon as the external WHS partner sends the GoodsReceipt message (as inbound WHSCON ) the inbound delivery is updated with the "real" batch as well as the SLED/BBD.
    QUESTIONS:
    (1) Why does the SLED/BBD not show up in the inbound delivery created by an inbound DESADV?
    (2) Do we need another user-exit to map the manufacture date into the inbound delivery?
    Once again thank you for sharing your time and expertise with us.
    Regards
       Uwe
