The MAP used in the City Guide example

Hi,
How to create a new map to replace the current sample map in City Guide demo? The current map is kind of cool, because the citywalk script shows the figure walks pass all the road and landmark. I wonder how the map is being done in such a way?

I am a beginner in this area, I hope you can give me more pointers/guides, otherwise, I would have to read up/explore lots of applications before I can start to create my 1st Raster map and get the WGS84 projection to replace the City Guide Map.
All I want to do is, to create a new sample Map myself, having simple rows of shops and streets, and then collect the coordination, and lastly replace the City Guide map and create a new simulation Script to replace the citywalk.xml

and second message type MT_2 in namespace http://partner.com/xyz
so MT_1 can be mapped with MT_2 or not having different namespace.

Google maps keeps giving "Still loading... Slow? Use the troubleshooting guide or basic HTML" message and won't load maps

I go to Google Maps and try to enter address in search bar.
Message pops up: "Still loading... Slow? Use the troubleshooting guide or basic HTML"
Nothing ever comes up -- map does not load.
If I append "q?=us" to url (below) (without quotes), it works.

&q=us does not work.
Starting firefox in safe mode does not work
Map loads but entire page except main menu is non interactive.

It comes up on google.com.au but not google.com
It happened after they added the new privacy popup with with MapGL also being added.
Disabling all cookies with Web Developer or browsing in private mode works but when settings are put back to normal it stops working.
I deleted all cookies and cleared cache but that did not help. Strange that clearing cookies did not solve the problem because disabling cookies works.
I tested with another browser and it works... but I want firefox forever.

Find on Map in the US sometime is dropping the city name

I have started using the places feature on iPhoto 09 recently and I have noticed something strange in the "find on map" function.
For example, when I type Stanford University, and click "find ... on map", I get Stanford University, Stanford, Santa Clara, California. I could understand that it is located in the state of California, in Santa Clara county and in the city of Stanford. When I type UC Irvine, nothing shows up on the map. When I tried to find "Joy Luck Place" in Cupertino on the map, two results pop up. I click the first one, it says "Joy Luck Place, Santa Clara, California, United States" It is true that the City of Cupertino is located in the Santa Clara county. But the address as written is usually be read as Santa Clara city in Santa Clara county. So it is wrong to drop the city name Cupertino from the address.
Why is iPhoto dropping city name occasionally? Why is the address format in consistent? Also I notice in some cases, I get multiple results that are spelled slightly different for the same location on the map. Any reason behind this behavior?

Google map and iPhoto map give different results. Google map is more accurate and more complete. If iPhoto fetches the address data from Google map, then it is dropping the city name from the data feed. Apparently, iPhoto is broken and Google map is working fine.
I bet you will see the same behavior if you type the addresses mentioned in my last posting. Seeing for yourself is better than reading the descriptions.

Creating a mapping using the API

Hi Brian, I am curious about this use case - what's the reason you are looking to do it using the API? You can create several objects using the API and the most typical use case we have observed is where mapping developers create a pattern or what we call as a "template" - which is a mapping with various properties parameterized. For example you can create a mapping with the filter parameterized, or define a very generic mapping with source, target and the field map between those all parameterized. Once you do that, you can create a "task" for this mapping (known as Mapping Configuration Task) - that can be done using our UI or using our REST API. If you choose the latter, you can pass on parameter values as part of the API request. Suggest you to take a look at our new Developer Portal, and specifically at the sections Templates and REST API there. Feel free to post any further questions here. I was wondering about creating a mapping using the API. It clearly states in the Dev guide that this is possible, but when I perform a get mapping request, I don't see all the information given for a certain object. For example, I don't see an expression in the mapping object (although one exists when I view the object in Cloud). Has anyone else done this? Is it easy to create objects via the API? Thanks!

How do i use home.html in the first Jboss example

how do i use home.html in the first Jboss example? i got the example to work through the command line method. i also got the CD example to work.
the documentation does not tell you how to use the home.html file. the file suggests that i can call the servlet because it has this line:

from my knowledge of servlets, i should be able to put the home.html file in the same directory that the servlet is in, and as long as a web browser can access it in that location, then this should work... right?
can someone tell me specifically what they did to get it to work? i CANNOT FIGURE OUT what the servlet URL is. my first guess would be http://localhost/servlets/InterestServlet . This doesnt work. Does anyone understand where i am coming from??
I am using ANT, and the normal install of the latest JBoss. i do not have a web server running because the JBoss server says in the console "[INFO,WebService] Starting
[INFO,WebService] Started webserver with address: null port: 8083

[INFO,WebService] Started" and so i assume there is a web service there?????

i just figured out that i need to download the JBoss Tomcat/Catalina server. I got it running except that the Catalina web server only is working when i run it standalone, and i cant figure out why. It keeps throwing this exception:

Problems doing the "Web Service" example from the 2-Day-Developer Guide

I want to do the "web service" example from the 2-Day-Developer Guide.
I give the application my proxy server address in the format address:port and go through the assistant creating the web service. After selecting the IBM UDDI-service and searching for %xMethods% as business name I get the following error:
ORA-31011: XML-Parsing not successful ORA-19202: Error parsing XML LPX-00104: Warning: Element "html" is not declared in DTD Error at line 2
What have I done wrong?

Please.. Could you change your forum handle to something more human, we are a friendly group here and lik to know who we are talking to.. Secondly, WHy are you using such an OLD version oft he product. You would be better off installing 3.2.1 (latest released build) and asking your questions after you do that..

Does anyone know how I can list the table names which are contained in a mapping by using the OMB language ?
After with this list I'll retrieve the properties of the extraction and loading hints (by using the OMBRETRIEVE command).

Something like the following will retrieve the table operators in a map:

As an example of navigating the map using OMB the tcl below will traverse the map (change the mapname variable and run in the context of the module containing the map) - the results are written to a textfile in /tmp/map.txt. You can see how the operators are navigated and the connections queried, each operator is listed and the connected operators.

I received a text today while at work about iCloud keychain verification code. I have not signed up for it or anything that uses it. I work out of the city with limited internet access so not sure why I would be getting this. Is my info safe??

Apparently someone else had the number before because I get texts from his family members wondering whats going on. I got one yesterday and the person didn't seem to thrilled that the number was cutoff and today I got 2 texts about iCloud Keychain which I don't even know what it is. Seems suspicious to me. If the person who use to own the number is doing it he should know it is not his number anymore because he obviously didn't pay his bills. I'm not too sure about iCloud Keychain so just want to know my info safe?? It says it can store credit card numbers which is what gets me worried. Frankly I think it's pretty stupid to save that kind if information with any kind of app. But I don't want some random person trying to access my personal information because they are bitter they lost their number. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can change passwords or anything that is needed.

What happened: Instead of erasing a single partition off a disk with many partitions, the entire partition table was erased (using Disk Utility, w/o deleting the underlying files). Somehow the "Erasing a disk deletes all data on all its partitions." warning message was missed.
I have a copy of the output of df, with the number of blocks in each partition, from just prior to the erasure, so I should be able to recreate the GPT/GUID partition table. Editing the GPT with a hex editor is not feasible. Simply recreating the partitions with Disk Utility will overwrite the key filesystem tables on each partition, and I don't want to do that, plus Disk Utility doesn't allow me to specify exact partition sizes anyway.
Surely there's an app for rebuilding the partition table (other than emacs' hexl-mode!) for recreating/unerasing a partition table when the partition sizes and orders are known? I've looked at the advertising for a bunch of recovery software and none of them clearly indicate that they will do what I want.
I guess I can try using gpt on a copy of the reformatted drive I've made with dd, and see what happens. But perhaps someone knows of a tool that should do what I need, or knows if gpt is that tool or not.
There are answers and tools that will do FILE recovery - search for files and recover the ones that aren't fragmented or deleted. As far as I can find, they just look for files on the disk, and don't pay much, if any attention to the filesystem info or directory heirarchy, which in this case is valuable. Of course I could send it in to DriveSavers, or the like. But none of that seems necessary, and the scavenging file recovery apps won't do the job well,

Aperture has the ability to work with files in their existing location. They are called "referenced masters." When you import images, you should select the "In their current location" in the "Store Files:" drop down box. Have a read of the documentation for full specifics. Unsure how you can resolve your duplication; might be some work but next time have a read of the manual first
Information for versions is stored in the Aperture database (library file). The masters can be inside the library file itself, or they can be somewhere else.

Is there a way to turn the pattern matching example in Labview to instead of loading a rectangle around what you want the template to be you can use an image display , I've be trying and can get no where with it

What I want to do is , have two images on image displays and the pass them through the same setup as the pattern matching example to get the number of matches , I have attached what I have done and also given the pattern matching example program as well.

The example used can be adapted for comparing two images, however the algorithm and coding for finding the differences is more specific to your actual problem. In terms of the loading and displaying of the images, this can be done in the same way.
Once you have some sort of algorithm, then you can automate the learning and matching by simply wiring them in order. (in the example, these are put in case structures as they are waiting on response from the front panel)

The manual guide tells me to go to Settings>General>Siri. At the General menu "Siri" doesn't appear. What should I do to set Siri up if it doesn't appear at settings>general?

Reading your question a bit more in detail, I doubt whether you are using Win32 API GetDiskFreeSpace function (for which my previous post is the solution) of Programmer's Toolbox GetDiskSpace function.
With reference to the second one, it works even with disks larger than 2GB but you need to use the proper formatting code to display the returned value. I updated my example to show total free space in the debug output window and added a comparison with 3GB value using UInt64TypeCompareUInt from the Programmer's Toolbox.
