The menu bar area gets screwed up when I try to make changes to it

So whenever I right click a blank area in the top bar and try to customize it everything goes screwy. It shoves the menu bar in above the tabs bar, displays the google toolbar and when I cancel or save the changes it just sticks glitched with all the menu and google toolbar stuff displayed. Whenever I close down firefox 4 and reopen it when it's like that absolutely everything at the top of the browser is erased (address bar, home, refresh, ect.) and I have to re-add them all. This is excruciatingly annoying to have to completely re-set up layout whenever i want to make a tiny change...

I tried that and I thought it worked but it just happened again. I also noticed that when everything screws up when I exit the customize window and right click the top bar again the Customize option in the right click menu is greyed out.

Items in the menu bar autimatically get "turned off"...

Lately when starting up my mac, my menu bar items(including the clock) won't load/start. I figured that maybe it was some sort of glitch, but when going to the preferences, each item I had in the menu bar is turned off regardless if the 'lock' is open or closed. It wasn't a really big problem since usually it would be only a single item disappearing, but today upon starting up EVERYTHING was off and its really kind of annoying to re-turn everything back on.
Another strange occurrence upon startup is having a random folder just randomly open and have my desktop icons randomly rearrange themselves(though this latter issue is fixed by simply 'locking' the icons to the desktop.
Anyone have any idea what's up? I've had this mac since last February and have had virtually no problems with it. The only thing I can think of that I've done different is gotten into the habit of turning my mac off at night when I would usually let it 'sleep and sleep and sleep.' These occurrences ONLY occur during startup.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you run a permissions repair with Disk Utility in your utilities folder in Applications? A permissions problem in your Library could do this. As you probably know, a permissions repair is standard 'house keeping' on a Mac.
If this doesn't help, I would drag 'com.apple.systempreferences.plist' to your desktop (it is found in your Preferences folder in your Library, in your home folder) go into your System preferences, change something, change it back and then re-start to find out if it is fixed.

Why do I get "No service" when I try to make a call or send a text message?

Ever time I want to send a text message this little loading bar at the top stops at ~80% and after a few seconds I loose signal and it says "No service".
Aslo when I try to make a call I don't hear a thing and then I get "No service". This is messed up and I have called my carrier and they told me to contact apple becquse they should fix it.

It could definately be a hardware problem if your brother's sim had the same issue. A way to isolate a hardware issue would be to back up your phone and set it up as a new device (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137) Give it a test with no information on the phone. If it still doesn't work, it's a hardware issue. Where you have a 4s, you're definetly still covered in your limited hardware warranty (if you don't have the apple care) You could then make an appointment at the apple store (http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/) Or call 1800 MY IPHONE to set up a mail in replacement. I wastrying something to see if anything would happen and supriseingly it worked! sence it was for some reason related to the brght ness i wnt to setings and temporaraly turned on auto-brightness went to the lock screen and it looked like normak with out haveing to open the control panal and ajust it manualy, i unlocked it, locked it again and it still workded, went back to setting, turned off auto-brightness, back to the lock screen and the hole problom seemed to be solved. weird... but nunthe less! it works.

I can open my new InDesign files by going up through the menu and opening that way, but when I try to just double click on an InDesign file I get error messages telling me that certain plugins aren't available.

I upgraded my Mac a few weeks ago to 10.10.2 Yosemite, and I joined the Adobe cloud so I could get access to all the new apps. I read a blurb somewhere about converting older InDesign files to the new CC version I'd have to open the old files in my old InDesign CS3, export to an ins file, then open that file in the new InDesign CC, then export it again to an idml file, then open that file and you shouldn't have any of the usual conversion problems. For the first few files I had to convert, it worked just fine. Now for some reason, whenever I try to open one of these converted files just by double-clicking on the file itself, I get an error message that says, "The document ____ uses one or more plug-ins which are currently not available on your system. Do you want to open anyway?" When I click OK, then I get another error message that says, "Cannot open ____. Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign." I thought this CC version of InDesign was the newest. Can somebody please tell me what gives with this? Any help will be very much appreciated.

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

Bought the new iPad and it's up and running, itunes and the app store are working well but when I try to open up either FaceTime or messages they won't open and a message appears cannot open try your connection. Help what is not right.

Project Panel seems to be freezing when I try to make changes

I have a project that I have been working on for some time without any problems. Now however anytime I try to make any changes in the project panel it isn't updating, i.e. of I delete a clip it still stays in, I try moving a clip, nothing. I even tried starting a new project from scratch and it wont even let me add clips.
Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this?

And...Yes, i did : i inserted the install disc and started up holding the C key. Many time. But each time, the logo of install disc appeared during ten minutes and then, during the installation, he disappeared suddenly with no reason. And in the same time the computer turn off.
The beginning of the storry : my son made long time ago (a year) the partition between Mac and Windows. Everything was fine.
Recently, He decided to give more memory space to windows.
He could do that directly (perhaps, was there a way but he did'nt know it)
For this reason, he decided to desinstall Windows in a first step before reinstalling it.
But before doing this, he decided to re install all the system, like for cleaning his computer...and then, since, it's a big mess.
You know everythin now.

Captivate 8 : the characters of the menu bar are very small

Hi,
I have a surface pro 3 and I use adobe captivate 8 on it.
I have a second screen that i have connected to my surface.
The screen resolution of the surface is 2160x1440 and the screen resolution of my 2nd screen is 1366 * 768.
I start captivate 8 on my surface and the characters are very small

And if i move the panel of my second screen, it won't resize.
I donb't have this problems with Word abnd other programs. Is there a way to enlarge the characters.?

I am also using Captivate on a Surface Pro 3 and the entire menu is tiny. I am forced to squint and hope my mouse hits just the right spot when trying to make a selection. I have changed my resolution, changed the magnification and even modified the Captivate properties to be compatible with Windows 8 and I tried Windows 7. Can someone please respond with the fix?
There is another conversation within Adobe forums on this I've run across, which also has no solution applied.

My songs are getting messed up when i try to back them up to itunes

ok this is making me mad!!! one of my songs when i backed it up on my computer messed it up and i can lesson to the whole song, now a song that i like to lesson to is now not downloading on my computer and i cant redownload it and in my itunes on my computer it says its downloading.

Viewing Safari from my desktop, I do and can view/use the menu bar. But, what about when I have Safari maximized? It is always in hiding. Is there a way to lock it? I would like to know time and battery status at a glance....

When you put your screen in "Full Screen Mode," you cannot see the menubar or the dock. To have access to those two things, you can only drag the viewing screen out to its limits.
To get the pane to its fullest size, drag the left corner all the way to the left of the screen. Then, Drag the screen out by the selecting the lower right corner and dragging outward to the right.

How may I change the height of the menu bar to allow my large icons/buttons to maintain their size?

I recently updated from FF28 to FF31. Totally different UI, I get that. I waited to update until I could psych myself to try something different. I have the Default Australis Theme and Noia Fox Theme, which is designed with larger icons/buttons for those with visual needs. On my screen at the moment I have the title bar, menu bar, tab bar, and url/addon bar with the "hamburger" menu to the right. I placed icons in the menu bar, kept the home icon on the addon bar, and then there are the default icons in the menu popup. When I enable the Noia Fox Theme, the icons look great on the url/addon bar, even in the menu popup; clear, large, easy to see. However, the icons in the menu bar (not the menu popup) are less than half their original/intended size. So I switch to default Australis Theme, restart, and same issue, though not quite as dramatic since Default theme is smaller to begin with.
My thinking then is that there is a setting within the menu bar which resizes the icons/buttons to a small default size. Can this setting be changed to allow the icons to retain their original size (or close to it) and if so, how? I like the location of the menu bar on my screen, below the title bar, above the tab bar. Works nicely with the new The Fox Only Better addon which attaches to the tab bar and hides the url bar, a "new" feature for me and I'm liking it. I know I can get CTR with an additional bar, and I did try that. The issue then is that the additional bar appears below the tab bar and is not movable to above the tab bar and below the title bar.
At the moment, I have just the two themes, security addons added and The Fox Only Better. I've not added other appearance addons yet so as to keep potential conflicts/issues to a minimum. I've not tinkered with internal FF default settings other than to say don't track me (I think that's all I did). So to the best of my limited understanding, I've kept changes and customizations to a minimum. And yes, per your educated guess feature for questions posted, I am running Win 8.1 and FF 31.
I think I've offered enough detail so others can try to duplicate the issue. If not, let me know and I'll try to respond as soon as I can. Thanks so much for any help offered.

You can double the height of the menu bar area using a custom style rule. I couldn't immediately find an icon that would take advantage of the space so I'm not sure this will solve the problem, but you could try it.
The custom style rule could be as simple as:
