THE MENU BAR CHANGED FROM THE WORD FIREFOX TO THE TRADITIONAL LIST OF WORDS FROM FILE TO HELP. CAN THIS BE CORRECTED?

EVERYTHING ABOVE THE TABS DISAPPEARED AND WHEN i CLICKED ON MENU BAR i GOT THE OLDEERR STYLE VERSION 29.0.1

# Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
# If you want to get rid of the menu bar (File…Help), click the Show / Hide Toolbars button and uncheck "Menu Bar".
# If you want to display the title bar that shows the web page title followed by the application title, click the Title Bar button in the lower left.
# Click Exit Customize when done.
There is no Firefox button in Firefox 29. Use the ≡ Menu Button on the right side of the window.

When I'm using Safari, ocasionally the menu bar just disappears. I'm running the latest version of Lion and the latest version of Safari. This is not a full screen app problem. I have multiple windows open. This happens all the time! Firefox is fine! What the ****? Please help!

Right, like I'm trying to say, THERE IS NO SAFARI MENU bar. Example: I have multiple applications open, I click on a Photoshop window, the correct menu or title bar or whatever changes. Every other application window I click on brings up the correct "whatever" bar. If I click on the desktop, the "Finder Bar" shows up.
Everythiing else, BUT SAFARI, works the same way since OS X came out.  This is ridiculous.
I'm getting the vibe that Apple is trying to get rid of the finder.... this is the way wrong direction.

  • How do you lock the menu bar so it does not disappear as the cursor is moved around?

How do you lock the menu bar so it does not disappear as the cursor is moved?

No.... you need a different cover

  • How can I disable the menu bar to pop up when I move the cursor to the top of the screen?

    Greetings, guys!
I'm completely new to Os X.
I want to know if the menu bar can be disabled not to appear when moving to the screen top.
It unnecessarily appears when I play a shooting game like Contract Killer in Full-screen Mode, in which I occasionally happen to move the cursor to the top.
    Thank you...

There are 2 Fullscreen modes for some games. And some games only use 1 of them. The usual Fullscreen that you'd expect, and the one we call "Borderless Window".
The classic Fullscreen utilizes all your display and things like menu bar, OSD's, "Always On Top" windows won't pop up while you are playing. But the Borderless Window is just a window that has the same resolution and dimensions with your desktop, and has no borders. Other elements like menu bars, OSD's and "Always stay on top" windows can get into your way while playing. And it's also slower than the classic fullscreen.
Check if your game offers any option of selecting between these 2 Fullscreen Modes, and select the classic fullscreen mode.

  • The top bar changed when I downloaded firefox 5.o how do I get it to look like the old style? It also makes all my pages really zoomed out so I have to zoom in to see them.

The new menu bar is all boxy looking and I want the old style back that looked like this http://images.six.betanews.com/screenshots/1100800989-1.png
Also every time I visit a new page it makes it really small so that I have to zoom in to see it which is annoying because before I downloaded 5.0 it was fine.
My computer is a toshiba laptop and I am using windows vista.

Your original had tabs on top, the current one does not. Also I note a dark background, is that some none default theme or persona, or a side effect of system display changes ?
I have noted others comment about pages needing zooming, no idea why that happens on some sytems, possibly something to do with the font changes.
I do not notice much difference between versions screenshot attached Firefox 4 and Firefox 6.0a2 open adjacent to each other.

  • I can't edit a photo in a legacy version of ps in the new lightroom i only have the option for cc2014 either from photo on the menu bar and or a right click on the mouse. i see no settings in preferences to address this issueo

why can't i edit a photo in the new version of lightroom in a legacy version of PS. i can only open it in CC2014. i saw no options in the preferences panel to fix choose what version i want to edit in.

    @ssprengel
The question was about editing in PS from Lightroom.
    @joiseau3
The "Edit in... (PS)" command in Lightroom automatically defaults to the most recent version of PS installed on your system (CC 2014 in your case). But nothing prevents you from adding a new "Edit in..." command for PS CC as for any other "plugin" :
    1. Edit | Preferences | External Editing | Additional External Editor section
    2. Choose application : the PS CC executable
    3. Set your export preferences
    4. Preset dropdown : Save current settings as new preset... and name it PS CC.
Now you have an Edit in PS CC command as well as an Edit in PS CC 2014 command.

  • Can the Firefox menu button be hidden so I can use just the menu bar?

When I start firefox initially the menu button shows up, but if I open up other firefox windows then no firefox menu button. I want to hide the button so I can use just the menu bar. I had no firefox menu button until today, and no recent changes to my addons that I know of.

The problem seems to be more than just a corrupted system file because it even with a partition restore firefox does a partial reset of addon configurations. The initial window with the firefox menu button then won't allow addon configuration, I have to start up a secondary window to do this.

  • The menu bar next to "Firefox" is gone; how do I get it back?

When I launch Firefox, the menu bar at the very top of my screen is showing only the Apple icon and "Firefox." None of the other menu items are there. How do I get the menu bar to display?

Try to remove the Firefox plist file (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).

  • When I go to firefox start page, why does it not show https- in the menu bar? Instead it shows http without https

Doesn't https when it is displayed in the menu bar, when there is an s at the end, mean it is a secure website?

Just upgraded to v4. It did NOT fix the problem.

  • The menu bar is present, but I can not enter any websites. There is no longer a place to type it in.

I have tried to close and open the menu bar several times (ALT+V T M), and it clearly goes away, but there is still no place to enter any website address. I have also restarted my computer and Firefox.
== I opened firefox after restarting my computer.

    * If on Windows in Firefox 3.6 the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" and put a check-mark for "Menu Bar" to make that permanent. See [[Menu bar is missing]]).
    * Make sure that you have the ''Navigation Toolbar'' and other toolbars visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window.
    * If you see the item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window to the Navigation toolbar.
    * If you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window.

  • The menu bar seems to be there but I cannot open it when I click on it, Why?

I see the menu bar which seems to be separate then the window but when I click on it nothing happens. It's not just a problem with my computer I checked other programs and there seems to be no problem. I have a macbook pro.
I was just wondering why I cannot click on the menu bar.

It's possible that the desktop shortcut is corrupt. To create a new one, please follow these steps.
#Right click the existing shortcut and go to Properties.
#Then click the button called ''Find Target'' which will take you to '''firefox.exe'''.
    #Delete the existing desktop shortcut.
#Right click and hold down the right mouse button while you drag firefox.exe out of its folder and onto the desktop. When you let go of the right mouse button, you'll get a menu. Choose '''Create Shortcut Here'''.
I believe the "Find Target" button has changed in Windows 7, but I can't recall what it's called now.

  • Title Bar stuck under the Menu bar and I cannot select and move it.

I often arrange windows around the desktop and sometimes I inadvertently push a window up too far and the title bar gets under the menu bar. Once I let go of the arrow, the title bar is too far under the menu bar and I can no longer reach it to move it down. The only solution is to close out the program and start over. Is there a way unbeknownst to me to select the title bar again and move it?
    Sharon

My E*Trade streaming watch list was stuck under the Menu Bar also. I tried reseting the screen resolution down to 1280 x 1024, and restarting the MarketTrader. There on the display was the stuck window, out from under. I resized and moved it to a central location, and resized the display back to my normal 1920 setting. And to my relief, the window Bar! Thanks Discussion!

  • HT3737 I have a new mac with Lion but I don't have a menu bar. How do I launch the menu bar?

I just booted up a new mac-mini that came with Lion. However, I don't have a menu bar.  Is there a setting I need to change?

If it's a fresh installation that is going through its initial boot sequence then you will need to run through utilities to set up your account, which may not show the menu bar. Once logged into your account the menu bar should show up. What happens when you click the little blue smily face icon in the Dock at the bottom of your screen (this is the Finder icon)?

  • Can the Menu Bar be made bigger?

Is there any way to make the entire menu bar - text and icons - larger? We have some vision problems and on the 27" monitor it's pretty hard to read....

Unfortunately not. You can change the resolution of the monitor (System Preferences -> Displays) to make everything bigger, or you can use some of the options in System Preferences -> Universal Access to magnify portions of the screen. But you can't make the menu bar bigger and leave everything else alone - the menu bar size is fixed.

  • The clock in the menu bar doesn't advance.

It shows the wrong time. When I put the pointer on it and click, it immediately gives the correct time but then it stays at that time until I click again.
For ex. it just showed 7.13 p.m. when it is 10.36 p.m.. (day is correct) I click on it, and it shows 10.36 but it will remain like that, (not go to 10.37 after a minute.)
When I go to System Pref.-->date and time it shows the correct time there, and it advances normally, every second, but not on the the clock in the menu bar.
I already click, weeks ago, the lock to prevent changes but it doesn't matter to the clock on the menu bar.
Can't be the battery: I put a new battery one month ago (not that I had any problems- I had none- but because I had this battery for 8 years and thought it's time to change) it is the correct battery (brand, voltage, etc. and had no problem until now.
I just realized something: if I choose display the clock in the windows it works just fine, when I put it in the menu bar it doesn't. I prefer it to be in the menu bar (less intrusive)

This is the first time of I've heard of this, but I went exploring anyhow. I'm thinking that you may have a preference pane incompatibility. Do you have any third party preferences panes, such as MenuMeters or MouseLocater installed? Huh? Open your system preferences and look at the bottom of the window where it says Other. A pane may have been added that is incompatible with your clock. I don't remember how to disable these, but it may just be that you right click on one of them and remove it. I am not certain as to whether or not you would have to restart at this point. I hope this is of some help at least.
