The Messanger Express cannot be connected -mshttpd

The Messanger Express cannot be connected:
This is the error log:
[07/Jun/2005:14:56:58] mail1 stored[854]: General Error: function=getserverhello|port=80|error=failed to connect
[07/Jun/2005:14:56:58] mail1 stored[854]: General Warning: alarmid=serverresponse|instance=http|time=07/Jun/2005:14:56:58|value=10|low=0|high=10|thr
eshold(over)=10|count over threshold=1|warning sent=0
There were ns-http processes, but no mshttpd.
I stop/start-msg http. Then this looked fine for 20 minutes, then, the Express was out of connection again with same error and warning information.
I wonder why? it is MS 5.2.

If you have a support contract, then calling tech support costs nothing extra.
There is a difference between a "patch" and a "hotfix". Patches are on the public download site, and may be downloaded at no charge to you. they have full QA runs on them, and are "blessed".
Hotfixes are provided only by tech support. If you have no tech support contract, then the call to tech support costs.
One of the advantages of moving to the JES Messaging Server (versions 6.2, for example), is that "hotfixes" are no longer given. It's all patches, that you can download from the sunsolve.sun.com site. . .

  • Does the Airport express base station connect to any modem?

ive got the apple tv in the lounge room where there is poor wi-fi reception and am wondering wether i should get the airport express or get a new modem.  what can the airport express do that the extreme cant, and can the express connect to any modem?  I have a NETGEAR modem.

By modem, do you mean just a dumb modem or modem router?
If you mean the modem, yes.
If you mean a modem router, yes, but only as an access point, not as a router (unless the Netgear supports modem mode).

    Hi,
Was the card previously working in that machine? If it was and you have a G5 tower you could try the card in there. Here is a list of Apple fibre cards and cables which show what's compatible with what. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1769
The card should appear in the System Profiler under Fibre Channel and PCI Cards.
    All the best

  • Cannot configure the Airport Express

I connected my Airport Express to my router (not an Extreme Base station). I got the solid green light, I can see the network wirelessly and I can access the internet with no problems.
The problem is that I cannot access the Airport Express in order to configure it (I want to add some filtering and some additional security). The Setup Assistant is searching for an Extreme Base Station which it cannot find (since I do not have one) and so does the Airport Admin util.
Is there a way (or perhaps a different configuration utility for Win XP) to configure the Airport Express?
    Thx
      Windows XP

Thanks for the help. I was out of the country for a few weeks but now I am back trying to resolve the problem. Nothing helps, the Airport Express "insists" on the fact that it cannot find a base Station. I am not sure what else is there to do and I am closed to go back to my old 802.11b D-Link wireless router. Do you have any other idea that may resolve the problem?
On another note, why does there have to be any connection between the Airport Express and any base station? Why can’t I configure the Airport Express without being connected to any basestation?

  • Is It Possible To Connect PS2 To Internet Using The AirPort Express

    Hi...
i was wondering if it is possible for me to connect my PS2 Slimline to the ethernet port on the AirPort Express and then connect my AirPort wirelessly to my router and get PS2 online
Is it possible to do this?

Callumpy, Welcome to the discussion area!
Yes but only if your AirPort Express (AX) uses WDS to wirelessly join a network.
If your wireless network is created by another AX or an AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) it shouldn't be a problem.
If your wireless network is created by any other product, it probably won't work since most 3rd party devices are not compatible with Apple's WDS.

  • Express unable to connect to Extreme when wireless security enabled

I have an Airport Extreme base station enabled as a WDS and communicating with an Airport Express which all works great to connect wirelessly to the internet and to play iTunes music on my stereo. The problem is that whenever I enable wireless security on the base station in an attempt to set up and maintain a private connection, the Express blinks amber, cannot recognize the network set up by the base station, and fails to work with iTunes. When I disable wireless security, it goes back to working again. I've tried re-enabling WDS and all kinds of other things, but to no avail. I'm thinking that somehow the Express must be authorized to communicate with the base station, but I don't know exactly how to do this, and the documentation from Apple is not clear on this. Can someone advise? Thanks.

The reason the Airport Express loses its connection is that it doesn't know the password.
You have two ways of doing this.
    1. When adding security to a WDS network, add it to the remote nodes first then turning them off, before adding it to the main base station and turning the nodes back on.
    2. Hard/Factory reset the Airport Express nodes and then reconfigure the main base station before then configuring the reset Airport Express units.

  • The report terminated with error:  REP-501: The specified database cannot b

    Dear All,
We are usning forms and reports 11g in weblogic . while running the reports from forms
frequently getting the error The report terminated with error: REP-501: The specified database cannot be connected..
Can anyboby help me to solve this problem

REP-501 typically means that Oracle Reports are unable to locate any available Oracle Databases. By default, Oracle Reports (similar to Oracle Forms) will only look for available databases in tnsnames.ora. Not only that, but the Reports environment by default will always look for the tnsnames.ora file in %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config ($ORACLE_INSTANCE/config in Unix). I have seen these scenarios happen before especially if the TNS_ADMIN variable for your Forms environment variables is a directory different from %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config. This would be the first place I would look.
If tnsnames.ora is located in %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config, do all generated reports fail with this message or a select amount of them? If only a select amount of them, are there any similarities with these reports (e.g, size, parameters, etc.)?
    Thanks,
    Scott

I just bought an AirPort express. Currently I have a qwest wired router plugged into the back of my computer via an ethernet cable. Can I just unplug the ethernet cable and plug it into the AirPort express, then use the setup utility? Most of the discussions involve an existing wireless network. I don't have one.

Correct. That's the way to set up the AirPort Express. After connecting your AirPort Express to the router, open AirPort Utility (in /Applications/Utilities) and follow the steps

  • What is the range of the airport Express

I want to get an apple airport express to use for all my apple I products but I would like to know the range of the express so I know where the best place in my house would be

The best location would be close to the wireless devices that will be connecting to the AirPort Express.
Line-of-sight between the AirPort Express and a connecting device would be ideal.
You will lose 15-20% of the wireless signal...on average...for each (sheetrock) wall that the signal must pass through. So after 3-4 walls, or a ceiling and a wall or two, there won't be much of the signal left...and performance will be poor to non-existent at that point.
