The method of taking 9i OCP exams

If you want to take 9i OCP, I have something to share with you. You must note the things that I will tell you in the next article.
The first, if you want to take 9i OCP which contains 1z0-032 and 1z0-033, you must pass 9i OCA first. 9i OCA contains 1z0-007 and 1z0-031.
The second, original training and certification examinations did not order the provisions. You can do either of them first. But most of the people took the four examinations, and then took part in an original training.
The third, the original trainings include three days training, five days training, and seven days training. Here, I suggest you to take part in a three days training. It is cheaper, and you also can get the certificate that you want.
The last, what I want to say is that you must take part in the original training.
If you want to know more specific information about how to run it, you can call the official free hotline: 800-810-9931. Or you can visit our website, we offer you more useful information. We also can help you to pass it safer and easier.
You can find these examinations in the next table:
1z0-007
Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL
1z0-031
orcacle9i database:fundamentals i
1z0-032
orcacle9l database:fundamentals ii
1z0-033
Oracle9i Database:Performance Tuning
The 9i OCP belongs to the ORACLE Certification.

Q1:
Does 1Z0-001 fit the requirement of 11g DB OCP requirement (pass 1Z0-001 = pass 1Z0-051)?
Q2:
Please confirm that finishing the SSC (Self-Study Course) DOES NOT apply the "hand-on course requirement ".
Q3:
Can I just finish ONE course "Oracle 11g Database Administrator Workshop II" from an Oracle authorized education center to fit the " hand-on course requirement " ?
A1 -- Yes, if you passed 1Z0-001, you do not need to take 1Z0-051.  When courses are retired, it simply means they are no longer given to *new* students.  Anyone who passed them still retains credit for having done so.
A2 -- Self Study CDs do not count for the hands-in requirement.  On the approved courses page of OU, it specifically states: "Self Study CD-Rom and Knowledge Center courses are excellent study and reference tools but DO NOT meet the Hands-on Requirement for certification."
A3 -- Only one course is required for the 11G OCP.  That one is on the approved list and so will be acceptable if the vendor is authorized by OU.

    Here are my few queries.
    1)What is Oracle Registration ?
    2)Is it possible to attend OCP exams without being registered to ?
    3) Do i need to attend training center for OCP exams in order to attend exams ?

    I just replied back to it.
    I admit i have to be little most descriptive than what i have written.
    Most important is that instead of mentioning something about nation like India you should directly talk to me in a technical way.
    There are time in this forum when such mistake happens but it should be solved technically.Nothing wrong in accepting critics of something you have done wrong.
    ( I have nothing against India, the problem occurs elsewhere as well).I saw that but better not start the discussion in that way :-)The problem is that when talking about unqualified 'OCP' or 'OCA' there is a big possibility of mixing up certification and exam entities.
    A certification is a certification and an exam is an exam (or perhaps a pseudo-exam like a course verification).
    In addition there is not just one 'OCP' certification ... there are many OCP certifications ... MySQL, Solaris, PL/SQL, Java although generally by default when omitted the context is for a DBA certification.
    It is also important to note typically exams can be taken in any order, however certifications will not be issued until prerequisites are met.
    ( Possible exception on some special cases : OCM exams and those involving Java written assigments where there may be some form of order).
    So when I come to the statement:
    As mentioned above for OCP you have to give OCA.
    I judge that to be incorrect.
    .... and I judge that because I have read it as "Before you give the OCP (1z0-043/053) exam you give the OCA exam (1z0-042/1z0-052) ... which is not true.
    However ... given the OP has mentioned he in on DBA track .. and if I read it as 'To gain the (DBA) OCP certification one must have the (DBA) OCA certification as a pre-requisite' there is no problem with the statement .... as the graphic in your earlier post shows.
    Without further analysis ... which may help my case or dig me into a whole on this occasion .... i had simply better apologise as I certainly did not appreciate full context when composing my answer ... I thought I had but I review I had not.
    In simple terms for original poster targeting 10g DBA exams .... best practice is to study and take 1z0-042 first and also be aware and plan how you will get your required DBA Training if you are looking to get OCP certification.

  • OTN discount on OCP exams

    Hi
    due to OTN ad : "All OTN members are entitled to a 20% discount on Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications" I registered for taking an exam using this discount but unfortunately, in registration confirmation there was no discount.
    It would be greatly appreciated if you kindly check it and let me know what to do .

    If you give the code "OTN20" to a Prometric Center, either online or via phone, they should give you a 20% discount on OCP exams.
    There are some centers that are requesting an OTN membership id in addition, but Oracle is asking them to just accept the promotion code as proof of OTN membership.
    If you could reply to this discussion with the name and location of any centers that ask for an OTN membership id, I will inform them of the correct process.

    Phani KumarDear Phani kumar,
    without training(self preparation) you can do OCA certification.
    but for OCP, any one course listed by oracle eduction is mandatory.
    if you do not have enough money, you can join only Workshop-2 only or any track eg: Performance tuning, some authorized institution admits for individual tracks.
    i have done oracle course in CDAC NOIDA(indian government).it is very cheaper that others. check for CDAC oracle courses in google. it is an oracle authorized institute. in 2007 only 6000 rs for each track. total 24,000 for DBA track. but i dont know? is they are taking oracle training now?
    note:- please double check everything before joining in any institute. also check about the institute with previous students. more than money we are spending our valueable time with them.

  • How to call a java method so I can pass a file into the method

    I want to pass a file into a java method method from the main method. Can anyone give me some help as to how I pass the file into the method - do I pass the file name ? are there any special points I need to put in the methods signature etc ?
    FileReader file = new FileReader("Scores");
    BufferedReader infile = new BufferedReader(file);
    Where am I supposed to put the above text - in the main method or the one I want to pass the file into to?
    Thanks

    It's a matter of personal preference really. I would encapsulate all of the file-parsing logic in a separate class that implements an interface so that if in the future you want to start taking the integers from another source, e.g. a db, you wouldn't need to drastically alter your main application code. Probably something like this, (with an assumption that the numbers are delimited by a comma and a realisation that my file-handling routine sucks):
    public class MyApp{
    public static void main(String[] args){
    IntegerGather g = new FileIntegerGatherer();
    Integer[] result = g.getIntegers(args[0]);
    public interface IntegerGatherer{
    public Integer[] getIntegers(String location);
    import java.io.*;
    public class FileIntegerGatherer implements IntegerGatherer{
    public Integer[] getIntegers(String location){
    FileInputStream fs=null;
    try{
    File f = new File(location);
    fs = new FileInputStream(f);
    byte[] in = new byte[1024];
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
    while((fs.read(in))!=-1){
    sb.append(new String(in));
    StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(sb.toString(),",");
    Integer[] result = new Integer[st.countTokens()];
    int count = 0;
    while(st.hasMoreTokens()){
    result[count]=Integer.valueOf(st.nextToken());
    count++;
    catch(IOException e){
    //something sensible here
    finally{
    if(fs!=null){
    try{
    fs.close();
    catch(IOException f){
    return result;
    Once compiled you could invoke it as java MyApp c:\myInts.txt
    Sorry if there are typos in there, I don't have an ide open ;->

  • Does 1Z0-001 fit the requirement of 11g DB OCP requirement (1Z0-051)?

    Dear Sir:
       Hi, I would like to ask 3 questions about the certification requirement of 11g DB OCP.
    Please advice me what do I have to do to prepare the OCP exam, thanks a lot in advance.
    Q1:
    Does 1Z0-001 fit the requirement of 11g DB OCP requirement (pass 1Z0-001 = pass 1Z0-051)?
    AFAIK, 11g DB OCP requires passing 3 exams: 1Z0-051 (SQL), 1Z0-052 (AW1), 1Z0-053 (AW2) and finishing a hand-on course at least.
    I have passed the 1Z0-001 (Introduction to SQL ans PL/SQL) many years ago.
    After searching the discussion in the community, I've found 2 relative:
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2526631  It said :"1Z0-001 will satisfy the SQL requirement."
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2467872 It said : "I can confirm that the 001 exam will fulfill the SQL exam requirement if it was passed before it retired."
    I was confused on that. Please help me to clear it.
    Do I have to prepare the exam 1Z0-051 since I have passed 1Z0-001 (an retired exam)?
    Q2:
    Please confirm that finishing the SSC (Self-Study Course) DOES NOT apply the "hand-on course requirement ".
    It still need to pay more money for an instructor-led (face-to-face) course, right?
    Q3:
    Can I just finish ONE course "Oracle 11g Database Administrator Workshop II" from an Oracle authorized education center to fit the " hand-on course requirement " ?
    Sorry I have to ask this because the budget consideration.
    Thank you very much!

  • Oracle 9i OCA/OCP Exam

    Hi,
    I just want to know that is it compulsory to study in any prometric centre for appearing in all exams of 9i/10G? Someone told me that, i will not eligible to appear in exam, until and unless i am not student of any prometric centre. Is it right?
    I am sorry, i do'nt know; whether i should post this query here or not?
    Please guide me.
    Thanks & Regrds

    Sir, Thanks you so much. I checked the link provided by you and there is nothing mentioned like "a person must be a student of prometric / oracle authorized centre, for eligible in 9i oca/ocp exam". It means, if i prepare myself and study the oracle, i am eligible to appear in the exam (no need to be student of prometric / oracle authorized, bocz this condition is no where mentioned).
    Thanks & Regards

  • Name of the method.

    Good day,
    Within a class, the name of the class can bet determined via a call to the "getClass().getName()" method, right ?
    How do we get the name of the method itself ?
    ================
    class magic {
    magician () {
    xx = getClass().getName(); // --> Will give "magic"
    // How do we get "magician" ?
    ================
    Regards

    Good day,
    By all means, I'm far from being an expert or even being to point to consider myself "at ease" with Java.
    Simply put, I have few applets sources that are using the "simple" things such as the following :
    "public boolean mouseEnter(Event Event1, int int2, int int3)"
    When compiled with SDK v1.3, there is a mention that the API is deprecated. I looked into the deprecated APIs and functions documentation, and I must admit, I'm completely lost in that jungle!
    What I would like to see/have, is how it is being done using the "new" or "proper" way. The lack of basic real and simple examples is a tad irritating, at least for me.
    As far as I can see, the Java language is not quite easy to learn for self-training people and taking Java classes is not part of my budget for now.
    The above is only on example.
    Anyhow, as far as getting the "Method Name", I guess the idea of adding it to my //#INC line would be the easiest and most performance effective way.
    As far as the doclet approach with JavaDoc, I think this is a good idea is good, however I'm far from being at the stage of creating such thing.
    Adding a new "throwable()" and getting the stacktrace is something to consider, however for the moment being I just want to apply the KISS rule, so I'm not throwing that idea away. ;-)
    I'll look at the different samples that came with the JDK, however I would appreciate if some of you could provide me with links to simple samples that are "respecting" the JDK v1.3/v1.4 calling conventions, would that be for the mouse example mentioned above, or some other of those "deprecated" things.
    I know for a fact that some of them are requiring a simply syntax adjustment, I can easily cope with that. Some others are a bit "fancier" to adapt, such as the alternate approach to eliminate a call to the "threadname.stop()" method. That one was easy to do simply because there was an example in the docs, that I was lucky enough to find. For some others, I simply need help to figure it out, so this is why I'm enquiring for some assistance and help.
    Best regards.

  • Is the Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 enough for preparing for the 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-144 Exams?

    I am planning on getting certified as an OCA PL\SQL developer. I will be teaching myself and I have all the material needed to prepare.
    Except, I don't have a database that I can solve exercises on and practice commands.
    The two exams I will be taking are the :
    1Z0-051 exam: Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I
    1Z0-144 exam: Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL
    So is the Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 is enough ?
    If it is not what other options do I have (I am running Windows 8.1) ?

    Yes -- 11gXE should be sufficient for practicing the vast majority of the skills required for those two exams.  I *think* that PARALLEL is not enabled in XE, so you could not test the functionality referred to in the "Use NOCOPY hint, PARALLEL ENABLE hint and DETERMINISTIC clause" topic of 1Z0-144.  I don't consider that to be a significant problem, however.  The material from the manual should suffice for the questions you'll see.
    As for what other options you have, you could download and install VirtualBox (free from Oracle).  You could then make a virtual machine on your Windows 8.1 machine and install Oracle Linux (free from Oracle).  You could then download and install Oracle Enterprise for Linux and install it on your virtual machine (allowable under the licensing when used for learning purposes only).  I have a similar setup on my Windows 7 laptop that I use when I absolutely have to test some feature that requires Oracle Enterprise.  Mind you, when I have the VM running on my system... it is ssssslllllloooooowwwwww because of the memory requirements.  I talk about using virtual machines as a certification aid in the following article:

  • Ocp exam doubt

    sir am goutham ,
    i just have finshed my 1z0-051 developer exam in 11g ,next week i going to write the second exam
    auctualy there are two exam in the exam path i saw ,one is 1z0-147 another one 1z0-144 .
    which exam can i write to become a oca.if will write 1z0-147 exam ,can i get the 11g certificate or is it possible to write 1z0-147 exam.or other wise i have to write exam only in 1z0-144?

    You can take either one of those exams for the PL/SQL Developer OCA.
    Either one would also count toward the Forms Developer OCP or the Advanced PL/SQL Dev OCP.
    There is not a PL/SQL Exam on the DBA track, so that's not relevant.
    It seems best to go for the newest one anyway (1z0-144 in this case) because then you'll be studying the newest version when you prepare for it.
