The Move from 1G to 3GS
Moving from 1G to 3GS was absolutely painless for me. Love the new iPhone after holding off on the 3G. My only complaint if there is any, is the plastic back cover of the 3GS. Wow talk about finger print and smudge central! lol Also the oleo thingy for the screen isn't helping much with finger prints. Will have to go back with the Power support anti-glare screen protectors. Maybe the 4G iPhone will be called iPhone Classic and have the silver metal backing of the 1G phone!

Yes that is correct. However there is one slight difference with rented content, in that you need to transfer it to your iPad rather than simply sync. You can do this by selecting the rental in iTunes from the left hand side of the iTunes window and choosing the transfer option.
Yes it will be transferred to the video app on your iPad. -
I've downloaded a movie on my ipad and I've hooked up my apple tv. Why can't i whatch the movie from my ipad through my apple tv? I tried synching my ipad to see if, when synched, I would see the movie on my computer in itunes. No luck there. What am I doing wrong? Why is it showing in my itunes on my ipad but the movie has disappeared when I look at my itunes on my computer so that I can watch it via Apple TV?
If you rented it directly on the Apple TV then you can't transfer it off and you have it watch it on that - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415 :
You can move the rental between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period. However, the movie can only be played on one device at a time. If you rent a movie on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device and you must watch it on that device. -
i have a windows based pc and on iTunes i have downloaded some movies. i have an apple tv set up under a different account. how can i stream the movies from my pc to someone else's apple tv?
If you wish to use home sharing then you need to setup the Apple TV under your ID.

I just got a brand new iPhone 4S on a contract from my local Three store. When I used the cloud restore to put the data from my old 3GS onto the device, it's prompting me for an Apple ID login with an email address (hotmail) that isn't mine! My old phone has NEVER had any Apple ID other than mine log into it, and the new one's a sealed box that I've opened and set up from scratch. Can anyone please explain this? I'm worried there's some kind of problem with my iCloud data being mixed with someone else's or something... Since I logged in with my own ID, it's downloaded the data perfectly fine, but I just got the Apple ID prompt again a moment ago with this same hotmail address in it... I'd be very grateful for any explanation!
In iTunes on your computer, select the Purchased section under STORE in the left column. Click on the first track and choose "Get Info" from the "File" menu.
In the "Summary" tab you'll see details of the purchaser of the track. Click Next to go through all your purchased music one by one until you find the ones you need to get rid of.
Unfortunately, there are no smart playlist rules that can filter tracks by the purchaser that I know of. -
I downloaded a movie from iTunes. I wanted to burn a DVD of the movie which I could play on my home entertainment system. After I had burned the DVD I tried to play the movie from it on the computer and got the message " You can't open the application mediaioserver because it may be damaged or incomplete". What is this all about? Are there settings I need to change? PS: I tried to play the DVD on my home DVD player and it also doesn't work. Help!
Klaus: Does this mean that I can only watch this movie on my computer and ipad not on my home big screen system?

The movies from my Iphone 5 are not coming across on Apple TV. The little spinning beach ball appears like it is thinking. It use to work fine but quick working a month ago. I mirror from my phone to the Apple TV. Still images and everything I do on the phone is mirrored on to the TV except when I want to show a YouTube video or any video and then the screen on the phone and the TV screen go black and the spinning beach ball appears. The videos open right up on the phone if I do not have mirroring on and going through the Apple TV. I just downloaded the latest update to the phone it did not fix the problem. Please help. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps concerning device issues. You may want to consider a reset, then testing to see if the issue is resolved:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Can you give more details? What exactly is the entire error message text? there should be an error number too. Are you trying to finalize this to an external disk?

Did you use the follow up action in the UD code selection? It looks from the error that program is unable to find the UD code.
Kindly check the configurations in QM and see that everything is working fine?
Alternatively, if you are using the follow up action, then remove that first. Do the GR using MIGO -- this will create the inspection lot. Confirm the inspection using QA11 by entering the UD code for acceptance. Thereafter the the stock will rest in QI status. Use MB1B and perform the transfer posting with movement 321 to bring the stock to unrestricted use.

My ipad is only 16gb and just about full but my iphone is 64gb and has plenty of space. I have bought movies on iTunes and have been watching them on my iphone, but this seems a bit silly as I have an ipad with a larger screen.
