The Move Tool not working in InDesign CC 2014, no click-and-drag. What Can I do to fix it?

It just started not working this week. I am unable to click-and drag anything in my document with the Move Tool. I have noticed that I can click-and-drag objects if I switch to the Free Transform Tool. Ok work around for now but I want to fix the issues. I have tried deleting the preferences and reinstalling the program but with no luck.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Why Why Why didn't i get warned about some of my super used all the time programs not working with Lion? I am so sad. What can i do about it besides buying upgrades for all the programs??

I am so upset because i didn't research enough before upgrading to Lion. I can't use a lot of my pograms i used all the time now. I want to go back to where i was before Lion. Is there a way to do it without costing me more money?

I didn't say the price was necessarily a drawback; just thought I'd throw my two cents in if the OP didn't want to purchase more software (as he/she alluded to in the first post). Even if it's a small cost (in your opinion), the OP said they didn't want to spend any more money. I didn't think about buying it on ebay; but that's a good idea. Just keep in mind that the Parallels free phone support is only good for the first few months after purchasing a new copy, so if you're buying a used copy, you won't get free phone tech support. I think they have per-incident support once the free period is over, though. And they probably have forums you can use to troubleshoot any issues.
Parallels can also cause a slow/laggy OS, which could be seen as a drawback. Of course, you could always purchase more RAM if the computer does lag, but there's another cost. I'm sure it doesn't happen to everyone, but it can happen, that I've seen. Especially if the computer you install it on is an older one that barely meets the Lion system requirements to begin with.
I agree with you; I purchase hardware and software for the future. If my new iMac won't run software from 2004-2008, I guess I'm upgrading. I understand when people don't want to upgrade, but after so many years, it's not really a choice.
I prefer the dual-boot method; it's cleaner (in my experience) than a virtual machine software program, and causes fewer issues with the main OS installation. It's really just preference, though. The OP can try both ways and decide which is preferable for him/her.
What I posted was (as I said in my first post) just my suggestion. I wasn't trying to override what you said about Parallels being the answer; just adding a new answer that I didn't yet see in this thread, in case the OP wanted an alternative. Maybe I mis-read the defensive attitude in your post, and if so, I apologize. But you seemed to be defending something that I wasn't truly even attacking to begin with. I feel that the best choices are the most informed ones, and with more options, the OP can find the best answer for him/her.

But they work normally when not plugged in? What kind of power source are you plugging it into? It maybe outputting more than what the iPod can handle. I had this happen to an iPod I plugged into a powerstrip that was plugged into the cigarette lighter in a vehicle an experienced the same thing.

Selection and Type Tools not working in InDesign CC for Mac

I have just recently downloaded InDesign CC (I use Mac OSX.9.2) and got the World Tools plugin to typeset in different languages.
However, I am having trouble using the selection and type tools. In about the first half of the file, the type tool displays the pointer/dashed box/I-beam icon and doesn't put the cursor in the text when I click on it. I can't click to select text as I should be able to, and if I try to click and drag, all I do is end up creating another text frame. But in about the second half of the file, the selection and type tools work the way they should.
When I click and hold on the type tool, the cursor changes to the crosshairs icon for creating text frames and the "W: H: " dialogue box for text frames appears.
How can I get the tools to work properly in the entire document? Is anyone else having this problem?

@Cindy – usually all 3rd party developers will provide some information for installing and uninstalling their products. First see if you can find some information on their web sites.
Also there should be a dedicated Adobe Extension Manager app where you can look up the installed parts of InDesign. Since I do not have InDesign CC installed, I do not know exactly, but its name should be something like "Adobe Extension Manager CC".
If you start this app it will show all parts installed with InDesign (or other apps that are installed).
Usually at the bottom of the list are the 3rd party installed components. They do not state "Adobe Incoroprate System" as author. Never uninstall (remove) the Adobe ones!

If you select one, a new option is available at the right. In my case here the "Entfernen" button ("Remove" in English).

Photoshop CS5 Move Tool Not Working?

Please help. I am using Photoshop CS5 and my Move tool is not working. I just don't know what to do. I am making photobooks with a software plug-in, "Album DS", and for the last couple of months everything worked perfectly. Then, all of sudden, when I load up photos onto an album page, with the Move tool, I no longer get the crop markings around the photos to enlarge, decrease, or even move the photos. I have tried using the Move tool without the software and it still does not work.

I just figured this out 5 minutes ago, by mistake I might add. How in the world did you know this? Thanks.

I have just noticed that my rounded rectangle tool is not working properly. When I click and drag nothing is visible, when I release it floods my whole image with my selected color. I have tried all of the other tools and they work properly. I have tried restarting, compared settings with other tools, and checked for updates. Nothing is working and any help would be appreciated.
Also, I have what appears to be a common problem with my move tool. I click, drag, and drop only to have the selected image snap back to its original position. I have an intuos 5 connected, is this the culprit?

I can't help with the snap to edge problem, but if you select your rounded rectangle shape tool, and click on the Cog in the Options bar, I suspect you have a fixed size set, and that it is bigger than your canvas.

Some functionality of the move tool stopped working after Photoshop Elements 12.1 update

After updating to Photoshop Elements 12.1, the move tool can not be used to drag and drop one photo onto another (when more than one photo file is opened). Please advise.

This is a new bug with the 12.1 update. If you are in 'Tabs' view then dragging from one tab to another does not shift the image focus so you can never drop. A bug report for it has been created at http://feedback.photoshop.com.
Workaround is to switch to tiled view (Window> Images> Tile in Expert view) and tile your images side-by-side then you can drag and drop.

Move tool not working in CS6 beta, mac

I can't move layers, grouops nor objects with the move tool when using the mouse or wacom however I can move objects using the cursor keys. Any suggestions what might be off or what might be done?

No, it isn't. I tried it both on and off without result. As I am trying to move the object I get a grey square, which I can move around but the object only moves 5 mm and then flicker once back into its former place, and that's it.

Unfortunately, the warranty is NOT international. You will have to send the defective phone to someone in the U.S. and ask them to take it into the Apple Store for replacement, then have them ship it back to you. Apple will not accept the International shipment, nor will they ship a replacement phone out of the country where it has warranty coverage.
There are 4 carriers in Brazil who sell the iPhone, including one which sells it completely unlocked. You probably would have been better off to purchase them there if that's where you live.

InDesign CC crash when clicking and dragging

I've had a really huge issue the last two days with InDesign CC. Every file I open, or, new file I create, it crashes the program immediately when I attempt to click and drag -anything-
I am able to use the type tool, access all the drop down menus and so forth. The program launches, it allowed me to double click to select type and then copy / paste it. (Thank god since I spent an hour typing it...)
However, If I try to move anything, text frame, object, empty frame, etc, instant crash.
I tried to take the steps to clear the preferences and recovery items, as is listed as a fix for these kinds of crashes. I went so far as to remove the related folders entirely. This worked. For about five minutes. Then it was right back to crashing went I tried to nudge anything.
I actually just totally uninstalled InDesign CC and reinstalled it fresh, it's still happening.

I think I know the solution to the problem (for me anyway)!
I have been plagued by this CC problem for months with Illustrator, In Design and Photoshop. I even bought a new machine because of the stress it caused me, and not to mention the lost work hours!!!! But since buying the new machine and having it happen again, and again and again, I have ruled out all font, software, plugin conflicts - because there is nothing on my machine that was on the old one. All of my old files are on an external hard drive and I have had Illustrator CC crash several times with the hard drive ejected. This is what leads me to think (in my case at least) that the machine/files/plugins are not the problem. Here's what has worked for me, and where I think my problem stems from:
CC membership allows you to run the Adobe applications on 2 machines, in most people's cases that's home and office. I have two machines; one for work with one set of preferences that my CC account was made with, and another machine at home that is shared and has an entirely different set of preferences.
When an Illustrator file is left open on my work machine (the machine that the CC account was created on) with a long period of inactivity (e.g. over a weekend) Illustrator CC on my home machine crashes constantly (as soon as I try to move an object it crashes). As soon as Illustrator CC is closed down on my work machine, Illustrator CC on my home machine is then fine! And then both machines will the run Illustrator CC again simultaneously until the work machine is left for another long period of inactivity (a couple of days). Then, when it is, my home machine crashes again.
I also noticed that each time Illustrator CC asked me to send a crash report from my home machine to Adobe it would pull the email from the preferences on my home machine, not the email that the CC account was made with (which is the email on my work machine). It could be that leaving Illustrator CC/any of the CC apps open and inactive for a couple of days causes some kind of 'time out' period on the account.
This could explain why Illustrator CC would work again on my home machine (briefly) when trashing the account preferences.
So to re-cap I have solved my seemingly inexplicable problem by making sure that Illustrator CC is not left open for long periods of inactivity (2 days seems to be the threshold) on one machine, if the account is being shared across two machines.
Please let me know if this A. makes sense and B. helps anyone.

Move tool not working correctly, will not move individual layers only only groups.

Everytime I try to move a layer within a group it moves the entire group OR if it is not in a group it moves every single layer.
The only way this does not happen is if I use the transform tool to move. This stinks for work-flow.
Im not sure if I accidently made a change somewhere OR this is a bug ? Any fixes or suggestions?
