The music library shows my songs, but when i click on it it wont play

i bought all this music, and it shows its there but it wont let me click on the song so i cant play it, how do i fix this? ive backed it up and synced to my laptop so many times and its not working

i'm having a similar issue.  i purchased a yearly subscription for cosmopolitan on my ipad, but have not yet been able to read the february issue. i was under the impression that with the yearly subscription, the new monthly issues would automatically be downloaded, yet this does not seem to be the case.  i'm unsure how to acquire the newest issue and it's frustrating because i paid for the year.  if anyone could be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.  thanks.

    Either how do I locate it, and I've tried every trick I know, or how do I restore all of my songs from one of two sources. I have my old hard drive backedup on an external drive which should have all of my songs, and I have most of my songs on my old iPhone 3S which I'm using as a backup iPod.

    The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place. In the case of a library moved from one system to another there are also potential permissions issues. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
    Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.
    In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links.
    If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

    You may want to do a Restore on the iPod in iTunes.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If the problem is caused by data corruption in the iPod's storage, a Restore should fix it.

    If I understand correctly, it sounds like iTunes is not grouping the songs from a particular CD together. The cause could be something as minor as a misspelling or slight variations. For more information, see the following resource:

    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

    Rid your Mac of the adware that is installed. To do that with Safari, go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions.     Before you sync your iPhone make sure that all the music that was synced to your phonereviously has been copied to your iTunes on the new MacBook Pro. Then when you connect your phone you will be able to either sync all music or select only those playlists that you want on the phone.

    Long story short. I get emails for my pre-purchased TV shows saying I can download them. I click the button, it downloads into iTunes, and I watch them. Now, this isn't happening. I can purchase and download songs just fine, but when I click on the pre-purchased tv shows, I can't get them to download. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?     It seems that this is a MAJOR issue with MANY end users experiencing the exact same problem - iTunes 10.5.2.11 Crossfade is completely buggy.  Apple, get it together, seriously...your QA department should all be fired for this.

    One thing to keep in mind, at least what has worked for me: After you make a change to the crossfade timing, you must close out of iTunes and re-open before the new settings take place.
    Crossfade timing = 12 seconds actually equates to about 50 seconds.
    Click the slider, then use your arrow key to tick over about 20 times - this should crossfade your songs approximately 6 seconds before ending.
    Apply, then close out and re-open iTunes...
    Peruse through the link above, there are different approaches.  Maybe one will work for you.

    I am having problems with the new itunes set up ........
    when i plug in my iphone or ipod touch it shows in the top right hand corner of itunes
    BUT when i click on the shown iphone/ipod the icon its no longer there, i was useing this fine yesterday and it was showing yesterday what is on this ipod and would allow me to add/remove music, but now this option is no longer availlable - i have added a couple of albums to my itunes i can listen to the music from the laptop but cannot sync the ipods to trancefer these albums to the handheld devices -
    i have been trying to sort this all day with no luck not sure if there is a problems with itunes or is it something i am doing ????

    Perhaps Bob will see this thread, he is the professor in these cases.
    You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
    All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
    Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
    Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
    All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
    Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
    I want to test 2 other things:
    1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
    2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.
