The music on my iTunes is not syncing to my phone properly

Hi - for some reason the music that I select in iTunes to download to my phone is not syncing properly - there are albums and artists that are still appearing on my iPhone. What should I do?

iCloud does not sync your iTunes library unless you subscribe to iTunes Match.

  • My music from my itunes will not sync to my iphone

I recently dropped my phone in the toilet (it was in my back pocket), I purchased a new iphone (3G) unlocked and have downloaded the new IOS software on my macbook pro and iphone. My music is on my iMac and I've synced my contacts, calender and aps but my ringtones and music will not sync for some reason... I am not sure why... Can someone help me with this? I've done a software update on my imac and it says it's up to date... I can't seem to get the IOS 5 to download on my Imac... is this what I need to do in order to get my music to sync?

    Hey there 2Chainz,
It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Some of the music in my itunes isn't syncing to my new IPhone?

My parents went and bought me a used pre-paid IPhone because the bill for my old contract one was growing unmanageable for them apparently. This IPhone is driving me insane because it will not sync all of my music onto. I have exactly 1,147 songs in my library and it is only syncing 995 of them. And when I look in the IPhone to see what songs synced and what songs didn't , it is always the same exact 152 songs that remain missing. There is a dotted circle next to those songs when I look in the IPhone. This is very annoying and I don't know what to do about it. I tried removing the songs from the IPhone and resyncing them, that didn't work. I tried hitting CTRL + A to select all the songs in the itunes and dragging them to the IPhone to sync manually, and that didn't work. It isn't a storage either because there is still 3.71 GB free. My old IPhone never had this problem at all, can anyone help me with this problem?

    Where was your itunes before?
If it was on another computer you need to transfer the content over. Downloading and installling iTunes only gives the empty program.

  • HT1391 why is the music in my itunes library not my music

i just got a new iphone because my last one broke i tried to sign in to my itunes account and it kept telling me that my info was wrong i got that part fixed but everytime i try to get all the music i have purchesed from itunes back on my new phone it is gigving me music that is not mine i have over 56 songs that i have purchased through my account and it is giving me only 13 songs none of witch i have downloaded.

If you want a sensible album friendly order click the heading of the Album column one or more times until it reads Album by Artist.
To manually order a playlist select the heading of the left-most column of numbers, you can then drag items up or down the list. The is the Play Order.
When you have sorted the list on some other column heading you can right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar and use the option Copy to Play Order so you can use that as an initial order to manually refine.

    Hello reneywacky,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Connect your USB cable to your computer but not to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until step 3.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button down, connect the USB cable to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. When this screen appears, you can release the Home button:
Note: If the image of a battery appears, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again. If you don't see the Connect to iTunes screen, try these steps 1 through 4 again.
iTunes should automatically open and display the following message:
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."Note: If iTunes not open after two minutes, please open iTunes yourself.
Use iTunes to restore the device.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • New music in iTunes does not sync to my phone

iTunes has been working fine and when i tried to sync my phone yesterday everything looked normal iTunes said it was syncing and i saw the loading screen but when i checked my phone it hadn't been updated with the new songs i had just gotten
    anybody know a fix?

Resetting the Warnings didn't work unless i did it wrong, is any thing visual supposed to happen after you click it? if not than that didn't work
the tracks can be played in iTunes
They weren't purchased from the iTunes Store, 1 is from a CD and 1 is from a youtube to mp3 converter (but all the other songs are like that too so that cant be a problem...)
my iPhone is plugged into the USB port that its always plugged into and it worked before. I am using a USB extension cord so if those can degrade over time or something that can be it.. how do i tell what kind of USB port i have?
I also cant even delete music through syncing if thats important at all...

  • I am having problems syncing an older I Pod Touch with my MacBook.  The device syncs the music and calendar, but will not sync the contacts.  I have tried several times, and after the sync, the contacts app says "no contacts."  Help!

I have connected successfully my third generation ipod touch to my Macbook, syncing to I Tunes.  Everything syncs except my contacts.  The calendars and music all sync succefully, however, when I open the contacts on the Ipod, it says, "no contacts."  I have tried disconnecting, selecting again, specifying to sync contacts under the "info" tab, etc., and nothing works.  Can you help me figure out the problem?

Do you have the right boxes checked/entered right settings?

  • Music from itunes will not sync with iphone 5

I just upgraded from iphone 4 to 5 and didnt have time for verizon to sync my phone so i did it when i got home. the music from my itunes will not sync with my phone. it shows the music on the usage bar when the phone is plugged in but shows no content on the phone. any suggestions?

I have a similar problem. Mine started with iTunes putting multiple versions of the same songs (whole and seemingly random albums) onto my iPod 5, but after trying to remedy that I now cannot sync any music of any sort. It took random songs off and then started getting stuck at the "waiting to apply changes" stage (as apparently many people have seen) and after trying all the things that are supposed to work I now have an iPod that doesn't have any music on it (because a lot of my music was not purchased on iTunes) and won't sync music or finish any other kind of sync.
It seems like the "fixes" discovered so far don't work for everyone.
My iPod is 5th gen running iOS 7.0.4 (but problem started on 7.0.3) with the latest version of iTunes, for reference.

  • ITunes could not sync contacts because the iPod is disconnected

The iPod/Touch IS connected and syncronising music, photos and starting with the contacts sync. After 20 seconds or so the process stops and the alert message says:
"iTunes could not sync contacts on the iPod because the iPod is disconnected".
Have restarted the Mac, reconnected the iPod/Touch with the same result. I have also deleted iPhoto cache which was suggested in one of the forums discussions.
NOTE: I have made the same Sync with my regular iPod 160 and it works fine,
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Yve

I found in a different post the suggestion to do a factory reset on the iPod from within iTunes (on the Summary tab).
Worked for me, but it took a while to reset and then reload all of the info...
