The Mystery of The Disappearing Bluetooth

Not a huge concern as I just read a posting on how to fix this isue, however I am curious to find out the cause of this problem and not just a fix.
The Bluetooth on my PB has dissapeared 2 times. Wavy live through the icon in the menu and no indication of a Pref Pane in Sys Prefs. Not sure how it was fixed the first time- this time the fix was done by shutting down and removing the battery.
Any of you pros have any idea why this happens?
Looking for the Zen/ Eastern way of looking at this problem and not simply the Western - "Just give it some pills and make it feel better" technique.

Oh, I wish I knew where the post was that told me about the 'battery trick'.
Whereever that post is-go find it if you have this same problem.
Sorry if that's non help.
Cheers.

  • Leopard fixes disappearing bluetooth!

I'm extremely happy that Leopard has (at least for me) fixed the disappearing Bluetooth problem. I'm most happy because I had purchased a new bluetooth keyboard from Apple and I could not use it for longer than five minutes before bluetooth would disappear. BTW, this keyboard is great.
    Cheers,
    Diego

    Hello ichikoo:
Check to see if the Bluetooth module was accidentally turned off. Also, disconnect all USB devices, shut down, and then start up again. Sometimes older USB devices cause problems with BT modules.
If the BT software is completely gone, you can selectively reinstall it from your software installation DVD.

Try one or more of the following:
    > Restart Your Computer
    > Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
    > Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
    > Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer.

  • Mac mini server has suddenly stopped seeing one or the other bluetooth devices! Batteries have been changed and they will connect to an older Mac mini. Server will now only see one or the other but not both.

My Mac mini server has suddenly stopped seeing one or the other bluetooth devices, either the wireless keyboard or the mouse( both apple products) have tried new batteries, at first it was the mouse that stopped responding, but upon rebooting the computer now the keyboard will not respond and the mouse works. Both work fine on an older Mac mini that I hooked back up to check.

There is absolutely no reason why they should not bothe be able to connect to your WiFi network. The easiest place to start would be to reboot your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again. I would also restart both the iPad and the iPhone.

  • Mac Pro and the Internal Bluetooth Antenna

    Hello All;
Recently I acquired a Sony Bluetooth headphone. It works great for my MacBook Pro and iPod Touch. It is another story with my Mac Pro, it drops out frequently. I wonder if it is possible to improve the internal Bluetooth antenna inside my Mac Pro so that I can have no dropouts.
My Mac Pro is the 3.0 GHz 8-core early 2008 edition.
    Thank you.

  • Connecting two mobile to the one bluetooth car kit...

Is it possible to connect two mobile phones to the same bluetooth car kit at the same time?

I dont think its possible, i may be wrong, but imagine if both phones were connected to the car kit and they both got a phone call, there is no way it would work as it would not know what phone to connect.
So i dont think its possible.

  • Question about the USB bluetooth transmitter

    Hey,
Is it possible to have the Inspire S2 Wireless speakers connected to a tv (for example my 6700 led tv from samsung). It has no bluetooth support but it has usb ports. So i was wondering can i put the usb transmitter in the tv, since the usb transmitter says: "no drivers to install".
    Will that work?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Tom

    Hello Tomdazz,
The USB bluetooth transmitter does not wok with your TV. The USB port on the TV does not have this functionality. Computer ports can usually do this because a device driver will be loaded by the computer which gives the USB port on the TV this functionality. You can also check your TV's manual for more info about the functions of the TV's ports. If I'm not wrong, TV only support Media Play. Media Play only supports USB Mass Storage Class devices (MSC). Examples are your thumb dri'ves, card readers and USB HDD.

  • Has anyone tried to pair the Tzumi bluetooth headphones to their iMac?  My iMac will detect the device, connect to it for about 2 seconds, then shows a status of "not connected".  Multiple attempts get the same result.

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • How does the iphone Bluetooth fit in your ear?

My last bluetooth headset kepted falling out of my ear. Does the iphone fall out of yours? I noticed it looks like it goes off one size fits all model no additional ear attachments to make it fit your ear size or conture. Please advise since this will utimately effect my buy decision.

I just bought a bluetooth at the apple store but not the apple bluetooth. I bought the discovery 665 which is sold at the apple store. I believe it is much better than the Apple ear peace although I haven't tested it. The Discovery has differnt size attachments and fits very comforably in your ear because it is a rubby/gel type material.
Plus, it is cheaper and suppose to reduce background noise especially while driving. And it has volume control too!
I hope this helps on your decision

  • Is it possible for my phone and my Nano to share the same bluetooth device?  If so, does the music stop when receiving a phonecall?

This might be a totally dumb Q, but I am so tech challenged it is pitiful.  Is it possible for my phone and my Nano to share the same bluetooth device?  If so, does the music stop on the Nano when receiving a phonecall?

No, the BT protocol does not allow for an A2DP device to be simultaneously connected to two iOS devices.

  • The Case of the Disappearing Documents

The first time this happened to me, I figured I was just
imagining things. Now that's it's happened to me a second time, I
am certain that my imagination has nothing to do with it.
I am working in Captivate 2 in an XP (SP2) environment. I've
completed about a dozen projects successfully using Captivate 1 and
am in the midst of creating my first project in version 2.
I've created a Captivate 2 document with less than a dozen
slides. I experience the disappearing menus problem quite
frequently -- perhaps every half hour or so while using the program
(I haven't tried the clicking on the library item trick yet, but
will the next time it happens). Typically I click on the Save
button and quit out of the program whenever it happens. One time
when I did that, the CP file went missing from the folder it was
    saved in. Completely missing.
The file icon itself was not in the Folder. The file name was
no longer listed on the launch window of the program, nor was it
listed in the File menu as a recently opened file. I know I am not
crazy and figured the file had to be somewhere on my hard drive, so
I started searching for files of a certain size which were updated
in the last day. I actually located the file, which had been
renamed renamed with a .tmp extension (and gobbledygook before the
extension). I only recognized the file because of its size and when
I hovered my mouse pointer over it, the document's name from the
Properties dialog box showed up in a tool tip. I was able to open
the file, rename it, and resume using it.
    I figured it was just a fluke...but now it's happened a
second time, albeit slightly different circumstances. The program
froze and BAM! the file completely disappeared. Again, I searched
my hard drive and was able to locate the file.
So now, I save a copy of my file about every half-hour in a
separate folder...because I cannot afford to lose more than a
half-hours' work. I am very worried about the stability of this
product. Does anybody have any ideas regarding this issue?

I don't know if version 3 will be any better, but I have my
doubts. I am totally embarrassed about my failure to be able to
complete this project on time for my client due to all of these
issues. As a freelancer, the ability to make my clients' deadlines
and provide a high-quality end product is crucial to my continued
success. I am furious with Adobe for this product's instability.

space... and using std naming convention for files (no special
    characters etc).
Unfortunatly, missed deadlines and extra non-billing hours
will result in staffing issues and different purchasing decisions
in the next fiscal year. Some folks are saying ... why did Adobe
drop the "R" when they released Captivate2.
Is Captivate3 really going to be any better? If so... how
about a free upgrade for all of use who suffered through
Captivate2? It's really tough to justify the expense of Captivate3
to our bosses when all they have seen are the problems with
    Captiavte2.

    I have to ask,
Are you making sure you are in park before attempting the sync?   The car won't allow you to do it in motion, whether or not you're the passenger.

  • Is it possible to improve the LMP Bluetooth in iMac from x4 to x6

    hi
Is it possible to improve the LMP Bluetooth in iMac from x4 to x6

It can only be swapped out for GPU chips that were available for that model at the time.
The only two options were a 256 or 512 VRAM ATI GPU.
If you have never done any type of computer or Mac hardware upgrades before, the tear down of an iMac is not for a newbie or novice to take on a DIY project.
If your GPU went bad, you will need to bring your iMac in to an Apple Store or Apple authorized repair center to have the iMac's GPU replaced by qualified Apple technicians.
    Good Luck!
