Your phone is in recovery mode; connect it to a computer and use iTunes to restore it.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Last night I tried to update the software on my iPhone 4. It appeared to be successful and appeared to put contact info etc. back onto the phone. However, the phone seemed to stop responding properly to touch. This morning when I tried to access my phone the passcode was not working normally. At first it was still randomly letting me in (although not sure on what basis) but now it will not accept my passcode at all. Has anyone else encountered this problem? How do I solve? Thanks.
First, has your iPhone ever been hacked or jailbroken? If so, that may explain the behavior.

After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You are in recovery mode, you need to restore it through iTunes on your computer then reload your most recent backup.

I uploaded iOS 7 and the ipad came up with a black screen with pictures of iTunes logo and power cord. It wouldn't turn off or respond to any actions. A terrifying moment. I followed some suggestions from these discussions, connected iPad to Macbook with iTunes open and prayed. It took 3 separate times to completely reset the iPad, because of several "errors" that would occur throughout the lengthy process. This necessity to completely reset my iPad (and it is very shakily alive now, I fear) was a direct result of uploading the new OS. I am furious. What is going on with Apple? I see this has happened to people for quite a while now. Good Lord.

Itunes, on my laptop, says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iohone before it can be used with itunes." When I click ok it want to resore to factory settings
Yes, that's correct. You must restore it using iTunes. After restoring you can restore your backup from iTunes or iCloud.

TurboTax this year requires OS X 10.6.8 as the minimum operating system. It also requires the system be running in 64bit mode with OS X 10.6.8.
You can purchase OS X 10.6 from the Apple online store by calling them at 800-MY-APPLE, or you can order it online too. Install, run software update until no more updates are available, and you'll be at OS X 10.6.8.

Help! I cannot see the Airplay symbol on any of my devices anymore! I have tried following all guides and troubleshooting, but to no avail. Just cannot use the AppleTV with any of my devices.
Thanks for the link. It didn't work at first on any of the devices but then I decided to enter a manual DNS instead of an automatic configuration. Then followed the steps again from your link and it worked.
It is not stable though as I need to reset the device for it to see the airplay. But when it is connected it stays connected for 30 minutes approx.
Any other suggestions to keep it stable would be fantastic but at least in the meantime I have a workaround.

This is so frustrating.
I downloaded the latest iTunes and iOS 8.1 for my iPod Touch 5th Gen., and now it only displays a message on it with a charger with an arrow pointing to a red iTunes logo. I've tried doing just that, but for one reason or another my iPod will not connect to iTunes. I cannot do anything on my iPod but turn it off and back on, with the same message in tow. I know my iPod is connecting to my computer, since I hear the same notification tone whenever it is plugged in or pulled out, but it will not connect to iTunes. I was trying to transfer itunes to my macpro from my iphone 4 and the phone froze up with the itunes logo and a usb cord looking like its suppose to plug into the itunes.. Now my phone wont go past that screen and i cant use the phone at all... Help if you can?
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.
