The new discussion software is the worst
Every time I click on anything I get "cannot load page" errors. I have to hit the reload button and hope that it will load. really stinx. Maybe it's just that there's a lot of traffic right now after the switch, but I can't imagine that the site is that much busier, and it doesn't seem like that's the problem anyway.
I used to love coming here and getting info on my mini and osx and all, but I can't imagine I'll remain a regular user if it continues to be such a struggle to get logged in, to see my posts, to post, to go to a discussion board, etc.

Yes, it is outlined in the Terms, but here's the skinny on it:
-Each question has a "solved my issue" and a couple of "this is somewhat helpful" votes.
-When a user posts a question, they (and only they) have the ability to rate the responses.
-Once the question has been answered, the poster has the ability to mark it that way.
-In the topics list, there are now icons to let folks know if a question is answered or not. This will help folks to find questions that still need responses.
-A "helpful" response gets 5 points.
-A "solved" response gets 10 points.
The system was designed to encourage folks to answer questions. It was also designed to keep people from "hate voting" or giving votes to posts that had no technical merit. IT's a bit different, but when it was tested the last month or so, it got a whole bunch of positive response.

...oh, and the other stuff: The mods have mentioned in the Level 4 area that the transition was not as easy as it first appeared. LEt me assure you, in the beta (once some really big bugs got worked out) it ran a whole lot smoother than this. I expect it will be rolling along smoothly quite soon.

Really these forums use one of the worst web software I ever came across with. It is slow loading, the interaction is even slower, windows close unexpectedly, I get logged out mid writing a entry, or it just refuses to let me in all of a sudden. I've spend to much time just retyping a message as they just disappear.

I would be ashamed to put my companies name to something so badIf you call something "intuitive" it's mainly because your brain has grown used to work with an interface in a certain way. You brain automatically knows where to find what. So when they suddenly change certain parts of that interface, your brain gets confused. It takes more clicking around to find what you need. You call it counter-intuitive. It's annoying.....the first weeks at least. I work with iTunes 12 for quite some time now. If I try to use iTunes 11 I get a little confused. It takes more clicking around to find what I want. Is iTunes 11 become less intuitive. No. My brain developed a new routine.
So "Hopelessly counter-intuitive" says more about your state of mind, than about the quality of the program. Useless documentation, tutorials or Apple-assistence have nothing to do with the quality of the program (as far as I can see there's a good "help-feature" for beginners). There's nothing wrong with the search engine and I can drag and drop files managing my playlists and devices, as I always have in iTunes (even a little better, because they moved some icons from the sidebar to the top white bar, so playlists and devices show up right next to my library).
What might be inexcusable nonsens it that you have limited knowledge on the possibilities of iTunes or how to operate the program, but have strong opinions about it nonetheless.
iTunes 12.0.1 shows to much bugs. Some people can't even open the program in OS X Yosemite. This community has found some workarounds for now, but this release is not one of "Apple's finest moments". So if you want to criticize iTunes, be my guest, but do it for the right reasons. This way you're helping no one, and this is support to be a support community. -
I updated to the new 5 software and now I can't sync my iPad2 to iTunes. I get a error message of "pairing record is missing". I tried restarting the iPad but nothing changed. Can anyone help me solve this?
For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. I have recently upgraded the new Apple software and now when I purchased new songs they show up in my tunes library However, I cannot transfer or download them to my iPod shuffle...any help is appreciated..my son is having the same problem downloading to his iPhone 4.
From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

How do I get my 300 playlists back on my IPhone after installing new IPhone software? The playlists still show in my ITunes on my computer but not in my IPhone. When I switch to synch by playlists and begin checking off the lists, the memory bar fills up. These lists are suppose to be in the ICloud and not go against my memory . You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

I am losing a hard drive on an old computer so I performed a sync of all music from the old computer to my ipod nano. Now when I sync my ipod nano to my new computer/Itunes all music will not upload to new computer/software. What am I doing wrong?
I’ve never needed to do that and am fairly new to using itunes but try doing this. Go to, “Store,” in the itunes menu and select, “Authorize this computer.” Enter apple id and see if that works. I heard that method is used to transfer purchased media to a new computer but I don’t know if it works for regular stored media. Please let me know if that works.

Just for clarity, do you have iTunes 11.1 now on your computer? If yes, when you connect your iPhone via your USB / Lightning cable is your iTunes opening with a small box near the top right of screen that shows your iPhone connected? If yes then you can click through the various views of your iPhones content areas, such as Music, Photos, etc. You will eventually get to a screen that is Status. On that screen you should see the iOS Update option.
