The new Firefox 6.0 has shut down my AVG AV security feature

The new Firefox 6.0 has shut down an important AVG anti-virus feature that I.D.'s safe websites. It's AVG's "Page Status" icon.

I do not know for certain but I doubt Firefox's changes will affect the AVG security functions as far as AV (Anti Virus) functions are concerned, that should continue to work.

absolutely the same issue with apple logo / red screen and looping on iPhone 6 16gb purchased 3 days ago in Moscow. first i was so happy to have it and now its a brick. also noted the brightness drop outs 1 day before it started. after chatting with apple support:
- we've tried to go for recovery with iTunes. didn't work
- advised on go for warranty replacement by Apple Support chat
- found local Apple Service Provider. gonna go tmrw.

Ever since I got the new update my iPad keeps shutting down apps mid use!

While using my iPad 2 programs and apps keep shutting down mid use this only started happening after I did the update.... Any suggestions?

Try closing all apps via the iPad's multitasking bar and then do a soft-reset and see if that improves things.
To close apps : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag each app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
To do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

As a result of "upgrading" to the new Firefox 4, I have lost at least my Norton Security toolbar and am unable to figure out how to get it back. What do I do?

In frustration, I tried Internet Explorer (which I hadn't used in ages) and found that my Norton Security toolbar was available there, without any modification Everything I have tried with toolbars in general and specific on Firefox has come up empty.

Norton hasn't updated their Firefox extensions yet. 
The extensions API for Firefox 4.0 was locked down over 5 months ago so that security vendors could start working on updating their products for the release of Firefox 4.0. Symantec / Norton pulls this crap of waiting until the last minute for every Firefox major release ''(like they're surprised by the release of a new version)'', inconveniencing their paying customers by making them wait a month or two while they get their shet together.
A Norton 360 user has reported that the eta for an update is sometime in May. Those Norton clowns just can't see their way clear to just support the browsers that their users want to use, they always want to roll the update for Firefox into a new release of theirs and charge you for the new version. ''(They claim they are extending your existing agreement, but from some of the reports I have read, they don't really do that.)''

I downloaded the new Firefox but it constantly freezes, doing absolutely nothing, and I can't even close it from my Mac dock bar, I have to turn off my laptop using the power button as Firefox won't let me shut down. What can I do?

I recently downloaded the new Firefox (Firefox 4, I think - you can tell I'm very tech savvy!) and it constantly freezes, I can't do anything with it at all - I can't even close it from the icon in my Mac dock bar.
I have tried restarting my computer - though I have to turn it off by using the power button as as Firefox is open and totally unresponsive it won't let me shut down. About a minute after re-starting Firefox, restoring my tabs or starting afresh, it freezes again.
This is obviously very annoying and I'm not sure what I can do about it. Firefox is my preferred browser, and I'd really like to be able to use it again!

This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
Firefox 18.4%
Activity Monitor 0.9%
Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

thx for your reply - apparently when I went to the Apple store a long time ago, they restore maybe photos and itunes etc from my external hard drive (passport). I guess at that time they reinstalled an earlier operating system than my macbook came with and that somehow corrupted FileVault. apparently there was no sparse bundle (whatever that is) for my old admin account and they said that ever since the install of the older OS that it was actually NEVER backing up anything in my admin account.
Then, I bought Time Capsule and starting backing up to that instead. I started having problems with it being slow etc and then StartUp Disk full errors and didn't know what to do, so I "Restored" from Time Capsule and that's when I lost everything in my Admin account and was locked out when I tried to log in - it said File Vault error ..."
anyway - that's THAT sad story. I was told to create a new admin account and I've basically been trying to start over - even though I have a partial save of my computer in Crash Plan and I DO see a sparse bundle listed in there, but I just don't know enough about computers to know if it's something I can get back or if I am just totally doomed.
I'm afraid to reinstall anything because if there is even a remote shot that the other files are still floating around in my computer, I feel like that chance will be shot forever. I need to hire McGee from NCIS, I just KNOW he could get those files back for me!!!

I work on Bay listing items, I have to go back and forth on sites. The new firefox dosn`t allow this. It has back arrows, but pop up asking request are very annoying, and take much more time, The older version would allow me to drop down to the previous pages..I want my old version back. Firefox does not completely shut down when X'd out, I have to do a restart to completly close the program, is this common?

I just upgraded from 5.0 to 6.0 and the upgrade program told me that Firefox had to be closed before the new version could be installed. I had already X'ed out Firefox knowing that it needed to be closed before I could do an install. I finally had to do a restart before I could install the new version. This has happened in the past with other versions of Firefox. Firefox keeps running in the back ground for some reason and ends up using resources that are needed else where. In the past I have deleted Firefox from my computer to solve the problem, can you solve the problem or should I delete the program and use another browser?

Must be the "hang at exit" problem. You already know how to do Step1; now just determine which Add-on (Extension or Plugin) is causing the problem.

Apple store couldn't help me and suggested I redo part of the project. It is a really good project and would take hours to redo it . I just want to export it. Can any one please help???

Your only option is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB (as the diagram indicates) and restore using iTunes.

Turn off iTunes Match while holding down the Option key (Shift for Windows) then quit iTunes. Open it after a few seconds, and turn iTM back on.

Mozilla did not get rid Brendan Eich, a man who co-founded the Mozilla project, the Mozilla Foundation and the Mozilla Corporation. He made the decision himself to leave as his way of trying to help Mozilla.
Mozilla lost users due to the misinterpretations of what really happened as many had hatred towards Mozilla for making Brendan as CEO and hate from those who did support Brendan as CEO and thought Mozilla caved in to the pressure of having him step down and thought they fired him.
All because of donation that he made back in 2008 and was public record due to a California law. Mozilla knew about this for years and he was accepted and supported by lgbt employees even. Yet many outsiders were sadly not supportive of him being promoted from CTO to CEO and those hateful people were even worse towards some lgbt employees who received death threats even for supporting Brendan as CEO.

Why is my IBM Scroll button no longer working with the new Firefox?

I just downloaded the new Firefox onto my IBM ThinkPad. This laptop has a center button for the mouse that I have been able to use to scroll down webpages on the previous version of Firefox installed on my computer. However, with the new version it no longer works. Is it because there is a setting that was automatically programed and is something I can change or is the permanent feature of the new Firefox. If it is the latter, then I am disappointed and would rather use the older Firefox version.

Re-installing Pages through Appstore has fixed the problem.
