The new iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod classic.  Why?

I had to re-install my OS which required installing the new iTunes.  Now iTunes won't recognize my iPod classic.  It took some time before iTunes would even allow me to log in to my account.  What's the deal??  I'm becoming increasingly irritated that I can't put my cloud music back onto my iPod...

    It happening to me too. Not only is it prompting "Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services", now everytime I restart my computer, it prompted something about runtime error. Tried starting up itunes also prompted the same runtime error. I have to uninstall all the component following the instruction from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 in order to get rid of the runtime error.

    My USB cable recognizes my iPod because the battery icon on the top right corner will show that the iPod is being charged by the computer, but iTunes stopped recognizing my iPod and doesn't open anymore, even when I open it manually.     No I didn't change anything about the software/hardware.     Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    I've also noticed that and it's a pain.
    If you maximise the screen and exit out of iTunes (X key), when you restart it, it opens up as you left it but when you press the resize key, it maximises out of the current screen. But if you resize the screen (so it's not maximised) and then exit, once you restart it, the size problem has gone.
    So when I wanted to exit the application, I would always resize it so that it wasn't maximise screen size, and then once I restarted iTunes at a later time, the resize problem would not occur.
    HOWEVER, yesterday I updated my iTunes and I don't get this problem anymore (yet) !!

    Hi, I just installed the new Itunes on both my mac and Pc.  In the Mac i have no problems yet, but in my PC (windows Vista) I can´t see the movies i have in the library and wont let me import new homemade videos.  I try to go back to the old version, but it won´t oppen becouse the Itunes list is made by the new version.  Someody have the same problem?     I am facing the same issue too. One workaround is to get all the tracks and music videos of that artist by using the search option and then select the video that you want to view. Then double click on that view and you will be able to preview the video rather than directly going to the preview option. This somehow works for me pretty well.
