THE NEW MAC OS RUINED MY COMPUTER!!!!

I bootcamped my computer a year ago so i could use Windows occasionally on my mac. I saw the ad for the new OS Mavericks, got excited and clicked on it. After following a few instructions i was asked to restart my comp so Mavericks could be installed. I restarted my comp and I'll be damned if it didn't tell me "Install Failed: OS X could not be installed on your computer. OS X can't be installed on the disk because a recovery system can't be created".
The really interesting part is at the bottom of the screen it says "If you'd like to restart ur mac using ur previous OS click here" hahaha LIES!!! I click the button and it start the install again. I have several projects due this week and the next and ALL OF THEM ARE ON MY MAC!!! I can't believe this, I wanted to upgrade and because my comps bootcamped I now have NO mac to work on.....I actually read in another forum that this very thing is happening to people who haven't bootcamped their macs. Some ppl are suggesting to get an external HD and install Mavericks onto that first but I shouldn't have to go buy a Hard drive to fix what apple screwed up. I've loved apple in the past but this is ridiculous, you have no idea how screwed I am, this is huge, my schoolwork and career projects are both on my mac

You can't ever assume anything with computers.
Take my advice as serious and take precautions now that your system is back up an running.
Another thing you may not know, hard drives CAN fail at any time! And for whatever reason, can fail early in their life.
Leave no important data and projects on a computer (Mac or otherwise) to chances and assumptions.
Get a backup plan, ASAP!
I'll give you one that you can embrace.
Get an external hard drive that uses a fast data transfer connection. Depending on your Mac model, USB 3.0, Thunderbolt Or FireWire 800 external hard drive. Purchase and download a data cloning app such as CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper. Properly format this external drive for use with Mac OS X and use the data cloning app of your choice to make an exact and bootable copy of your Mac's working system and internal hard drive that will be exactly cloned to the external hard drive.
In the event, that something goes horribly wrong with your Mac, with a bootable, cloned, high speed ext hard drive, you can be back up and running from the ext. drive in minutes and can clone this good OS and data back to your internal drive, and, again, have your internal drive ( if it hasn't failed) back up to normal in minutes.
Needless to say, a computer backup is a good thing!

If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help. Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

Trying to migrate from Mac-mini Tiger to Mac-mini Lion and Migration Assistant cannot find my Firewire, 400 to 800, "T" disk although it shows up in the new Mac's computer folder. It seems that Mac-mini Tiger is as it should be and the firewire cable is OK. Something about the Migration Assistant is being missed, but I have no idea what it is.

Addendum: I read on a post here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=420169) about removing some kext files in order to trick OSX into thinking that there were no FireWire ports.
I followed the instructions and removed from /System/Library/Extensions/ the following files:
IOFireWireSerialBusProtocolTransport.kext
IOFireWireAVC.kext
IOFireWireFamily.kext
IOFireWireIP.kext
IOFireWireSBP2.kext
I restarted and BAM...Snow Leopard booted crazy fast and the mouse and keyboard worked instantly.
The System Profiler says "No FireWire ports were found."
So this tells me that the FW port is probably the culprit and is messing up the installation.
So how do I hack the Mountain Lion installer and tell it to ignore the FW port, which is obviously quite dead? Or is there something I can do to the Base system that is similar?

If your copy of PS was for Win, your installation disk is not compatible with Mac. You can't use a Win serial number on Mac either. You would need to contact Adobe Customer Care and request a cross grade. Depending on which version you own, this may no longer be possible. I believe CS6 still qualifies for cross grades though.

You have me confused as to where the apps really are. You mention iPod and mention that the iPod isn't your primary computer. Obviously, it can't be - its an iPod. I'm not trying to be a jerk - I just dont understand what that means.
The you say that the old computer is the primary computer for iTunes. That makes more sense. Anyway, you could have transferred the iTunes library from the old computer to the new Mac, but I assume that you did not realize that.
So ... If the apps are on your iPad - but did not transfer to iTunes when you synced the iPad with the new Mac - transfer Purchases. Connect the iPad to the Mac, launch iTunes, right click on the iPad name on the left and select Transfer Purchases. That will put the apps in iTunes on the Mac.
Movies cannot be downloaded again for free because Apple does not have an agreement with the movie studios to allow for that. At least that is how I understand the way that works.

If such an upgrade were possible, it probably would be more money than it would be worth.
If you're running a G4 (dual-processor even) you can pick up a used Mac mini (intel that is, and something from 2010 or newer would be the best bet) that will be screaming fast compared to a G4.
Once upon a time, processor upgrades were not only possible, but a good deal, and a relatively inexpensive way to get more life out of your Mac. I upgraded a G3 tower to a G4 for few hundred dollars, and I was glad I went that route at the time. Finally, CPU upgrades, at least as far as I know, aren't available anymore.

How can I move my three SATA HDDs to the new Mac Pro without backing up?

I am doing initial shopping for the new Mac Pro but have come to the frustrating realization that I cannot move my HDDs to the new computer for free. Sure, I can migrate my OS drive to the new one, but my other three disks inside my 2007 Mac Pro are in a pickle. I want an economically viable method of getting those three drives to the new Mac without backing them up, formatting or something like that. Also, I would prefer a transfer method that will rival the speed of it being internal. I don't think USB 3.0 can do this, but Thunderbolt 2 can? Everything I've seen online has been outrageiously expensive or requires me to reformat (RAID).
What I'm looking for:
Connect three or more HDDs of various capacities to new Mac Pro
Have the transfer speeds rival or exceed that of my current grandpa computer (Mac Pro 1,1)
Have it not be incredibly expensive (anything over $300 is ridiculous)
Have it be no more than two devices, one prefered unless they are individual enclosures that can either daisy chain and/or are inexpensive.
Safe for my drives.

Can the new Mac Mini boot Snow Leopard from an external hard drive?

I currently boot my 2009 Mac Mini from a FW800 external drive with 10.6.8. If I just plug my external drive into a new 2011 Mac Mini, will it boot into Snow Leopard if I set it as the startup disk or will I get a kernel panic?

I bought a 2011 Mac Mini, which came with Lion installed. I thought maybe I could repartition it and have a Snow Leopard partition. So I repartitioned it (500gb split into two 250gb partitions). I named the new partition "SnowLeopard" just to make it easy for me to tell the difference.
I attached the external DVD and put in a Snow Leopard installer disc, holding down the C key so it would boot and install from that, but it just spun for awhile. Doesn't appear to work.
Then I read somewhere else that someone had managed to clone a copy of Snow Leopard onto an external drive and boot from that. In their situation they were talking about a MacBook, but the principle seemed sane.
So I rebooted, holding down the T key to put the Mac Mini into Target hard disk mode, and attached it via Firewire to another MacMini (circa 2008 or so, not sure of year, but it was upgraded last year to Snow Leopard and has been upgraded along and along). Then I used Carbon Copy Cloner to copy Snow Leopard (that is, the entire hard disk-- System and all applications and data) to my newer Mac Mini's "snow leopard" partition.
For yucks, when it was done cloning, I restarted the older Mac Mini, and had it boot from the newer Mac Mini's snow leopard partition--- it worked! To make it easy to tell the difference, I changed the desktop background to something completely different. I think I tried booting from Lion but I can't remember if that worked.
Then I rebooted the newer Mac Mini, which booted up in Lion, of course. Going into System Settings, I changed the startup disk to the "snow leopard" partition, and rebooted, and it booted up in Snow Leopard.
I have yet to test the applications on the Snow Leopard partition. Another problem has arisen.
Because with both of the Mac MInis being active on the network, they both had the same computer and user name. So I renamed the newer Mac Mini to something completely different, and changed the password.
Unfortunately, now I cannot change any other setting in the System Settings that requires a password. While the newer Snow Leopard lets me log in with the new user and new password, whenever I try to click the "lock" icon to change something, I'm prompted for a username and password. Apparently this is some different username and password than either the new or old username/password.
I've tried various combinations of both: new user/old password, old user/new password, old user/old password, etc.
So if you do what I've done, be careful about changing the username and password on your cloned computer. I think it may be wiser to create a new user and then delete the old cloned users. I may just have to re-clone the old Mac Mini to the new one again.
If anyone has any ideas about this password conundrum, please pass along!

How best to do that?

There's actually an option to iPhoto Library Manager that makes this all almost work flawlessly (and work well enough for me). With the exception of Photo Albums that the pictures are part of, if you select "Library > Rebuild Library..." and then select "Scavange Orphaned Photos" check box, then it will put all the Photos and Movies into the "Scavanged Photos" album. It matches the modified pictures to their originals. It preserves all the event names and photo groupings. All the meta-data I could spot check it got right (although with 44k pictures, I only checked a few). If you fail to select this option, however, it will find no pictures at all when it goes to rebuild the library (this was true of the small test libraries I tried as well as the big, monster 280GB library I just finished converting). The conversion process took 5 hours to run, but in the end produced a library my new iPhoto can read and that I can interact with. I'll be suggesting to the iPhoto Library Manager folks a notation that would estimate the number of Orphaned Photos and display that number as a hint to the user that the option would be useful.

Now here is the back, showing the heatsink paste still in place, and the thermal pads used to cool the RAM chips to the central cooler:
note that the two cards are not interchangeable -- they have their power lugs on opposite sides. One card has chips to support actual display output to the thunderbolt Busses, the other card has none, but has the custom micro-PCIE slot for the PCIe SSD "stick".
One reason for this design is that to make a leap forward, you would have to water-cool the slots for a traditional form-factor PCIe slot Mac pro. Then do it again to include a second GPU. In my opinion, this model Mac Pro is about conquering the cooling problem of this much CPU and GPU compute-power in one box.
NVIDIA graphics card replacements? maybe eventually, but not at this writing.
