The new Quicktime made my iTunes stop working

When I downloaded the latest version of Quicktime to my computer, my iTunes wouldn't open anymore. It gives me the message "iTunes.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." I've tried re-downloading Quicktime, deleting both off of the computer and downloading them again, downloading an older version of Quicktime with the latest iTunes, and downloading an older version of both, but nothing has worked. Can someone please help me?

I would recommend backing up your ipad to your computer and then restoring your ipad. This will just give it a fresh start and get any bugs out

Is there a problem/bug with the new "Purchased" section in iTunes?
I had quite a few corrupted tv episodes which i thought i would be able to re-download but there are a lot of my purchases ( complete seasons ) that are not showing, also several individual epsidoes are missing from the seasons that are present.!!!! All very strange.
I noticed quite a few music albums are also saying downloaded next to them even though they have only be downloaded at the initial purchase time.
( My account is in the US store btw.)
Any thoughts on the problems??

It is a beta version. The final version will not be out until fall. There may be issues form time to times with the beta version, as it is a beta version.

ITunes Stops Working when I Sync

Does anyone have a clue for me? I've had no problems syncing my phone until a couple of days ago. Now when I try to sync it causes iTunes to stop working and gives me a message that the problem will be solved if I get the lastest version of iTunes. Oh wait! I have the lastest version! I even uninstalled iTunes and redownloaded it and installed it... No change...

After about 20 hours wasted time, uninstalling and re-insstalling all Apple products in the suggested order as suggested on another forum. Still had the same problem. Will sync fine until I check the "videos" tic box. Itunes stops working in the step of "optimizing photos" (????). If I go back and uncheck "videos" tic box, iphone4 will sync just fine. BUT now all my videos previously on my iphone are on the PC. I would like them back on my phone!
I gave up and went to the Apple Store to visit with a Genius. Took my PC and everything with me. It was not from lack of trying, she did all the same stuff I did and checked everything over. Could not fix it. She said it appeared everything on my PC was set corrrectly and the problem was probably with itunes. Said she always waits a little while when updates come out to make sure there are not bugs before putting them on her stuff. Lesson learned.

Itunes stops working when copying apps during Sync

Hi I am using Itunes 12.01.26 on a Windows 7 PC
My library is saved on a nas server and the network drive is mapped.
I have an ipod 5 and Iphone 5s
Up until october this configuration has works a treat however since about October I have had difficulting in Syncing.
I cannot sync my music - everything i try fails so as a last resort i have tried to restore my devices.
Itunes stops working when it gets to the stage of copying the apps.
I have read a suggested solution to move the library to the local C drive but this does not seem to be reasonable solution particularly as my library is large.

Lock computer causes itunes stopped working error

I can repeatedly crash itunes by locking my computer either with a screen saver requiring a password or via ctrl-alt-del "lock my computer". I have tried disabling other applications via MSconfig as suggested on some forums (no changes), verified that Qtime does work properly, and even tried solutions for other symptoms that are reported to cause the same error (e.g. deactivate store/reactivate, etc). I do not have any of the codecs that cause problems with itunes.
The error message is always "itunes stopped working...checking for a solution".
I am running Vista Home Premium SP1 (32bit) on a Dell E1405. Any ideas?

You're right - I just validated that -- the problem only occurs when itunes is the top application. Too bad about no response as I use a password protected screen saver on my laptop (for security) and I have the tendency to have itunes on top. I guess I'll have to break this habit until when/if someone solves the bug or creates a workaround.
I'm trying to figure out the mechanism of the failure. Event Viewer tells me its a D3D9.DLL that is failing:

Whilst downloading new version 11.1.4.62 yesterday Itunes stopped working and I now get an error message MSVCR80.d11 was not found. I have uninstalled I tunes and reinstalled it and Ihave also taken the recommned patch to recover the MSVCR problem.

I was using my Dell PC (Windows Vista) on the 24th January 2014 and I was lstening to music via my Itunes programme. a window appeared alerting me to the need to take the new 11.1.4.62 Itunes update.
I should have stopped Itunes and then installed the updated programme but absentmindely I cliked on the upload icon.
Everything carried on as normal unitl around 70% the way through the upgrade when Itunes stopped working.
An error message appeared 'Itunes Helper exe - Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.d11 was not found.' i was advised to uninstall and reinstall Itunes as that may fix the problem.
It didn't!
I then researched this issue on Google and was advised that if the reinstall of Itunes didn't resolve the issue I should download and install Microsoft Visual C++2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Pack and run it. Did this and reinstalled Itunes again. Still doesn't work.
Where next?

Try this. It worked for a few users after a drop.
Turn the iPad over and give it a very HARD slap on the back. May take several slaps.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components; this won't affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Try following steps and test one at a time:
1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:

4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:

I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

it sounds like you are unable to use iTunes because it either will not launch without this error, or you get the error when you are using it. Sorry to hear about that, that can be pretty aggravating. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue, named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues

Start with opening iTunes in Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If not, the article will help you troubleshoot for 3rd party plugins that may be causing it:
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
If that doesn't resolve the issue there are additional steps in the article if needed.
