The New Widget Gallery

I found eight broken links on the new Widget Gallery display page.
If you'd like me to list them I can, but first I'm more concerned (for all parties involved) about the link to
author Christoper Whatson. Multiple times the link had numerous redirects to multiple pages, including porn. Other times it works. May be my system so I'm running a full virus/malware/spyware scan right now but...
(finding the humor in it the url happens to be tripchrystallsyadayada..)
Also in SNL and Firefox the link to Adobe Muse Team ( http://[email protected]///[email protected]/ ) for Slideshow, Basic (Slideshow Widget) is giving me a phishing warning.
Google Chrome passes it thru with no warning to www.adobe.com
I realize that the new Gallery Widgets were just posted last night, so the team may still be tweaking, but this is the internet sooo..
On a positive note, hey, congrats on this new feature.
So how do I sign up (submit)?!

Yeah, I clear my all my browsers caches every nano second when designing/changing/troubleshooting. So I guess it must have been a hickup.

Also, being a fan of Jeremy Goldbergs work, I was wondering specifically what the intention of his piece is. Is it as the name suggests? IE: Rotate text (and not have it be skewed or pixelated)? Or would you call it more of a text shuffler.

I am using Mac OSX 10.10.1 (memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, graphics Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB)
and my version of Photoshop is CC.
I ran into the same problem: I am able to place and view Blur Gallery pins but the adjustment wheel or outer control arounf the pin that allows you to tweak the blur value disappeared after being initially available. Additionally, the placed pin or pins appear to flicker on screen (while in blur gallery mode) until committing the change with the OK button. I have tried restarting both the computer and Photoshop, as well as what some other users have suggested such as View>Show>Edit pins turned on. Nothing has helped so far. I am still able to adjust the blur amount from the Blur Tools slider. thank you.

Help with the News Widget

I am having some issues with the news widget and I don't know what I am doing wrong to have it come up like this. (I have attached a screenshot) Nothing is overlapping to make an error like this. Can someone help me?
It is supposed to be next to the grey text, not below it.

Figured out a workaround. I needed a convenient method to access the rows of the table from JavaScript. It turns out that the following works (on IE 6, anyway), though it depends on the HTML <div> tag:

Is it possible to password protect Movies in the new Web Gallery?

I have loaded several iPhoto albums onto my new Web Gallery - and I can password protect each using a different name and password for various friends and family. This is great as they each then have their own privacy. Some I have left open to view by everyone. BUT, I would like to password protect some movies from iMOvie '08. Can this be done for the movies as per the photo albums - and how? If yes - can it also be done for movies already published or will they have to be re-published?

The best I can figure out is that if you post your movie, but do not select the option to "Show project on Web Gallery home page," the video will not show on your home page for random visitors, but you can send the direct link to your video to whomever you want by copying it from the confirmation page after the video uploads. Not perfect, but the only option I see right now.

Can I use the new Captivate6 (subscription) Widget PlayBars and still give control to my learners?

Hi there, I want to create some screens that dont have a fixed duration, as I want my learners to explore several 'click to reveal' interactions (eg 4 pictures (buttons) appear) and user can click each picture to reveal some text and pictures, then choose when to move on to the next screen. I don't want to do "show click, show, click, show click" ie linear interaction, instead I want to let my learner decide what order to explore and when to move on. I know how to set up the click interactions - but how do I stop the timeline from moving on to the next screen? I want the items to stay on screen and not dissapear, and to prevent the screen moving forward to the next one automatically. Currently I have set the slide duration to be huge to give learners enought time to explore but surely this is not a best practice method? Ideally I would like to take advantage of the new Widget PlayBars for navigation, rather than building buttons for each screen. Is this doable? Much thanks.

The best way I have found to do this is to use Event Handler widgets.

The important part about these widgets for what you want to do is that they have options to Disable Continue (which permanently pauses the timeline) and Reset Success Failure Criteria After Action (which means you can click the objects as many times as you want and keep executing the same Advanced Actions).
This allows you to set up interactions that can be done indefinitely but do NOT force timeline to advance until the user is ready. You just provide another button (or you can use the playbar) to advance to the next slide.

[solved]kdemod 4.3.4: news widget opens kate instead of browser

Hi,
i'm having a persistent problem with the news widget under kdemod 4.3.4.
Whenever I click on one of the news feeds it launches kate and I see the html source code.
How can I change this behavior that the browser will be launched instead?
The browser is already set as standard application for html files.

Thanks for this.. I already checked that but now I stumbled over a strange behavior:
Kate was on top of the list of associated applications. Moving a browser on top was possible, but after pressing 'apply' kate was on top of the list again. Must be some kind of bug..
Anyway, I removed kate from the list and now everything is alright. even kate is in the list again, but on a lower position...

IPhoto 7.1 won't post new web gallery

Since I upgraded to iPhoto 7.1, it won't post toany new web galleries. Here's exactly what happens:
After I create the new web gallery in iPhoto it shows the spinning icon next to it as if its succesfully uploading it but it stops in seconds and nothing happens. If I try to click the refresh button next to the gallery it disappears from the list. Help?
I find this to be unacceptable as I payed good money for both .mac and iPhoto.

Wow! I hope Apple is reading this. Just tried to post a new album to my web gallery, which worked perfectly yesterday before the upgrade that I installed this morning, and now the web gallery button no longer works. It seemed to work until I looked at my previously posted gallery. On the web it showed a greater number of photos installed but only the photos from my earlier gallery were there. When I looked back at iPhoto, the web gallery icon at the bottom had disappeared. So I closed and opened iPhoto again, the gallery icon re-appeared. Tried to upload my album again. Stalled. The icon disappeared. BUGGY!!!! How do I remove the upgrade?

How do I add a new panel to the accordion widget in-between two others (NOT at the end)

In the accordion widget, the + button at the bottom adds a new panel to the end. I have a series of panels that are in alpha-sort and need to add a new panel in the middle... I can't figure out how to do it without re-doing the whole thing. is there a way to do this?

In the photos app I have 2 camera rolls and 1 photo gallery. Each new photo that I take gets stored in one of the camera rolls, but when I back up the photos to my computer it only backs up the one camera roll, and not any of the new picks. Please help

Aperture (2.1.1.) - iWeb cannot find the Aperture Gallery in the web widget

I think this is not really related to MobileMe's current problems, as it shows alright on the web:
If I publish a Web Album to MM (and I think it was the same issue with .Mac but am not sure), everythings working fine upload wise.
Only if I want to include the Web Album in iWeb with the help of the Web-Widget tool, Aperture Web-Galleries do not show up.
iPhoto works fine, what's published to MM there shows up on the iWeb widget menu (if not password protected)
Does anyone experience the same? is that 'normal' or is there a work-around?

The workaround for this is to turn your Aperture galleries ( ie, albums) into iPhoto galleries, at least temporarily. You can do this online, once you are logged into your actual .me account (http://www.me.com/gallery/#home). Select an album, choose the Settings button at the top of the page ( a button with "light switches" graphic on it ), change the "Syncs with:" option to iPhoto and Ok. Then launch iWeb and you should find the gallery listed there. Once you publish the site, you should be ok to set the album settings back to Aperture. +(Haven't double checked this yet ...)+
*Note 1:*
If you don't see the Syncs with option, then hold down the 'shift' key when you click on the Settings.
Then it will show.

Folks are confusing the web gallery albums that are showing up in the intra-app media browser (just images are accessed here) and the insert gallery menu item (entire gallery inserted). Easy mistake but they are different functions.

Problem: using the sound widget AND gallery in one page

I simply tried to have a play-music player/button at a page, and a gallery to swipe through images too.
It caused weird problems. The iPad behaves strange, the iBook (previewed at iPad) doesn't work anymore.
Several times I had to make a total reset of iPad3.
The same result with a combination of a keynote widget (image-sequence) and music.
Isn't it possible to to offer a slidehow with sound?

the idea is to watch the gallery fotos or the keynote slideshow and listen to music/sound same time.
for any reason it did work in the beginning. but now, having the media widget/audio in the same page as keynote or gallery, the application does not run smoothly anymore, particularly the swiping is blocked.
I already made 2 chapters to avoid too many widgets in one chapter.
there are: 1 keynote slideshow (1024x768 images) , 1 gallery, and each 3 audio widgets to let the user choose different sounds. but actually the probelms start with pacing the first audio widget already...

How can I use the tooltip widget on individual images in my thumbnail gallery?

I've got a client that is insisting on not having the caption text visible on each picture unless you could click or hover over a little information button. But I can't get the tooltip widget inside an individual image's lightbox (hope this makes sense). I have very little coding knowledge and was hoping someone would have the answer to this?

once image has been selected and enlarged you may tap/hold select
then options will appear...then 'save image'
