Is there a crashlog, when notes is closing by itself?
And when you are launching the Console window (The Console app is in Apllications > Utilities), are there any disgnostic messages, when you try to launch Notes?
When did this start? What were you doing, before the problem first occured?

Notes app storing notes locally?
Morning, I'm looking for the path to see if a note in the Nptes app has stored locally on my Macbook Air, I need it urgently from a meeting yesterday and I can't seem to see if anyones asked the question before.
I've looked and it's not soted on any of the accounts I've got syncing with the Notes app, it's not appreared on my iphone, so I'm assuming it's stored locally somewhere (or maybe not)
If anyone can be of help I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the great advice. I do have another question related to losing my notes. I have discovered that my most recent Notes, from around May of this year to present are no longer on my phone. I located them on my macBook air per your instructions (thanks again!). For some reason, unbeknownst to me, the last 3 months of notes are gone from my phone and are now on my Yahoo email account. Do you know "why" that happened? It bothers me that the most recent notes just migrated without any input by me. I thought my data was lost. It's not lost, but just not where I expected it to be. My iPad does not find the printer. I have tried the HP app and it works, but in any other app the printer is not seen. How do I get this printer visible to the iPad. All my other network computers find and print with out a problem.

the facebook app is not working no more on my i pad 2, i tried deleting it redownload it but didnt work out, any help ?!!
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

I have chosen to sort "oldest first" and to play "oldest to newest". I also just recently deleted and reinstalled the podcast app via iTunes. I am still getting the random play results. I even deleted all played apps manually since the option to keep "All Unplayed Episodes" also keeps ALL episodes. So even though I had only 2 episodes available it would not advance to the only other remaining episode.
This Podcast App is atrocious. Its the only app I've ever owned that has never worked as advertised. -

i can't open .pkg files. i get an error telling me to choose an application to open them. the Installer app is not in my Utilities folder or in System/Library/CoreServices.
Install the UnArchiver and try again.

There is no Installer.app in the Utilities or Applications folder, there is one in the System/Library/CoreServices.
If yours is not there, then you need to:
1: Backup your data off the machine to a non-TimeMachine drive and disconnect all drives.
2: If you have TM, try to restore the Installer.app from the TM drive and reboot. See if things work.
If the above doesn't work, your going to have to re-install just OS X 10.6 (and bundled programs) from the disk by holding c and booting off the 10.6 disk and simply installing OS X. Then software updating to 10.6.8.
This will replace all bundled programs and OS X, not touch your files (backup regardless) and most third party programs.
Some third party programs will have to be reinstalled form original sources because they install Kext files into OS X and thus kicked out by the 10.6 reinstall form disk.
All should go well, however if you boot to a gray screen or other freeze, reboot holding the shift key down, then update all your third party software to be current to 10.6.8.
Another method is to re-install in to CoreServices the Installer.app from the 10.6 disk using the extraction program called Pacifist from CharleSoft, then running software update to get any updates for Installer.app.

The folio also shows up in the Android app (at least the phone I have tested with).

Since upgrading to the newest version of ios 8, I can no longer share my photos on facebook. I have tried going to settings-privacy-photos, but the facebook app does not show up for me to change the settings. Any suggestions?
when you opened the shared library with the newer version of iPhoto (iPhoto '11) you were given a warning that your library would be converted and could not be used by older versions - you clicked ok to go ahead - there is no updo available - either upgrade to iphoto '11 of the MBP or load your backup of the iPhoto '09 library on it - older versiopns of i{Photo can not read newer libraries
