Sounds like something has been added into the Reader folder. I would recommend uninstalling, running http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, removing any left over parts of the Reader folder (this might have been the problem), reboot, and reinstall. Hopefully that solves the problem. For future question about Reader, you should consider asking in the Reader forum, this is not it.

I am trying to find out how to assign files with particular extensions to the appropriate software. At the moment when I create a file using Word it is apparently given the extension .docx but Word doesn't recognise its own files. How do I allocate the extension .docx to Word? There used to be a way of doing it, I think under "Preferences" but I can't seem to find it.

The conversion of a PDF file into excell put all items into the first column, it did not work

The product produced an excel , but put all the different column information into column A .

Try this process:
In the PDF file that you would like to copy information from:
1. Go to Tools>Content Editing panel
2. Click the "Edit Text & Images" button
3. Select the information that you would like to copy and draw a selection square. It should group the information into a selection outlined in blue.
4. Go to Edit>Copy
In the PDF file that you would like to paste information into:
1. Go to Tools>Content Editing panel
2. Click the "Edit Text & Images" button
3. Go to the page that you want to paste your information
4. Select the page
5. Go to Edit>Paste
6. You should now have a selection square that contains the raster information and that you can adjust size by Shift + Click + Dragging the object handle on the corner of the selection square.

IE9 Prohibits .pdf File Download, Uninstall Does Not Correct

I had been using IE8 with Win7 SP1 Home to download bank statement pdf files (.asp) from an https: site successfully for months. I installed IE9, but then could no longer download those pdf files, receiving a "blank page" URL instead. Furthermore,
I could no longer access the NOAA weather satellite image loop sites after the IE9 installation, instead received a site error message which closed IE9. I uninstalled IE9, which then reverted to IE8 as expected. After the IE8 re-installation the
bank statements started to download but then stopped with no images showing, although the correct URL was shown in the address line instead of the "blank page" URL. However, the NOAA weather satellite image loops do execute correctly with the re-installed
IE8.
Is there some default setting that needs to be set, or reset to enable the .asp (pdf) files to download correctly again?

Have you load the latest Flash Player?

Go to Manage add-ons and enable Shockwave Flash Object.

If I understand correctly, you've converted a file and now want to download it and remove it from your Acrobat.com account. Is that correct? What happens when you try to download it from https://cloud.acrobat.com/files? Do you get an error?
Once you've downloaded it, you can delete it from your account by selecting it and clicking the trash can icon.

Microsoft Explorer keeps shutting down during the conversion of a PDF file to Word and gives me an error message regarding the Adobe web page. It keeps circling back to the PDF conversion window and will not allow the process to continue. What can I do to continue the PDF conversion process?

How to download the blocked ALV output to PDF file.
I am able to download the BLocked ALV output in PDF format,
but the each bolck in ALV is displaying different pages of PDF.
In my report I have 4 block in 1 page, I am able to see the output in PDF but in different page.
How to avoid the Page-break in PDF.

hi,
I believe that your have 4 containers on the screen with individual ALV display. in this case, there is no way to get combined PDF output to my knowledge.
However you can use Smartform/Sapscript as output which would allow you to display ALV in blocks and also print it in one.

I'm so sorry to hear you are disappointed. It sounds like your PDF was originally a scanned document in photo type. Unfortunately those can be almost impossible to convert due to the converting not having actual text to grasp onto.

Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported.

Hi Guys,
I upgrade from leopard to snow and now I don't have the possibility anymore to to print PDF as a PDF.
Before I was going to print and then choose save as a pdf and everything ok.
Now after the upgrade to snow every time that I am going to print a pdf from a pdf (acrobat 9 and X) I received this msg "Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File > Save "
Why that happened ? how can I fix it?
The thing is that I have a pdf form (contract) that I have to fill up and print it as a pdf.
Now I can't do that I can save only the form with the fields unlock.

Ah.. this is so annoying filled in a long form.. which doesn't allow saving.. I assumed as normal with this type of form I could print to PDF and at least get a electronic copy.. but no, I made the mistake of installing Adobe Reader.. and it has screwed up the print options.. when I try to save as PDF from the print menu I get the helpful suggestion

When I do as suggested.. it helpfully tells me that it will only save a "blank form"..
Adobe has badly messed up their reader.. I now need to print out and then scan this document to get the electronic copy I need.. I will be uninstalling promptly after this fiasco..

If you are using Acrobat you can try the suggestions mentioned above.
Are you using the Create PDF service from within Reader to create pdf?
If yes then please check if you are able to login to: https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf with your Adobe ID and able to convert the document to pdf.
If yes then within Reader you can try the following:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Win)
Click 'Online Services' or 'Adobe Online Services' on the left-hand side
Sign out of your Adobe ID and sign back in.
