The only way I can put new songs on my iphone4 is by creating a new playlist before I plug it onto my computer. Very irritating. Its locked onto my friends computer but I know have my own laptop. Help?

W/o knowing that it would lock onto my friends computer, I plugged it in and now that I have my own laptop it does not let me put on new songs from my own itunes library. I have to create a music playlist first on my iphone, then plug it into my macbook, then drag the songs onto that specific playlist. Its annoying. Help or any suggestions, thank youuuuuu

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
This fixes many little annoyances like this. Hope it works for you.

The iPad is designed to be a single user device, and there is currently no way to password protect the Mail app - even removing the account password from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars will just prevent new mail being downloaded, it won't hide those that have already been downloaded. There is this work-around for the app : https://discussions.apple.com/message/13127632#13127632 . Also there might be third-party email apps that feature password protecting.

The only way I can do it now is to blank the template and replace the unwanted template with a blank. It was previously possible to go to MY TEMPLATES and remove the unwanted templates. I don't if this issue is before or since installation of 10.8 (a nightmare in my case, which led to significant failure issues). And because I haven't tried to remove templates since finally managing to install 10.8 (now at 10.8.4), I don't know if this is typical of the newer OS or a problem. I've been a Mac user for more than 25 years, but I think I'm nearing the end of the road. By the way, I've never needed to do this before because the manuals always offered an answer... they don't seem to do that anymore. In any case, I don't know how this works... I'd prefer an email reply if that's possible. But that would probably be too easy, and I don't know how to get a reply.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

Hi! So I haven't used iTunes in a few months but I just got an iTunes gift card and want to make a purchase. iTunes redeemed it just fine but now that I want to make a purchase I am having problems. I can't remember my security question answers and iTunes is requesting them. I have two other verified emails but the are NOT rescue emails. I can't contact iTunes over the phone because my phone lines are out and are going to be out for a long time. The only way I can contact them is by email. How can I do this? IOS6 on iphone 4S. My phone keeps disconnecting from my wifi. I have to input the password each time. The only way i can keep wifi connected is to disable cellular data....what's with this????!!!!!

I downloaded IOS6. The next day my iphone was not connecting to wifi. I reset network connections...put in my password and voila it worked!....But then it dosconnected again..and again...and again....my wifes iphone 4 is not having this problem and she also installed IOS6. Is it a BT Yahoo account? If so, there have been quite a few threads about Yahoo constantly rejecting passwords, with no clear fix.
That said, I did see someone post that they'd resolved the problem by eliminating any capital letters from the password. After that it stopped asking for passwords and started working, apparently. One or two others tried the 'fix' and seemed to have the same success. At least they haven't come back to say it had gone wrong again.

If music etc was purchased from itunes store then go to the itunes app on ipad and check purchased to see what you can redownload for free.
Assume you can't sync the iPad as you are on Tiger with old iTunes version.

If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.

With the iPod connected to the computer go to the Music pane for the iPod in iTunes and check the box that says sync only checked songs. The check the songs you want synced and click on Sync. For more info see:

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
