The OPC Field Point Sever doesn´t run

I have LabView 6.0.2, LabView DSCM 6.0.2 and Field Point 3.0.2, I´m Controlling a process with my PC, but I cannot run the OPC Field Point Sever and I Want to Know What do I have to do to launch that Server or How I have To configure it to use it with my LabView program.

FieldPoint OPC server launches with Fieldpoint Explorer. Use the Server Explorer application to view available OPC servers.
Use the following KnowledgeBase article to configure LabVIEW for reading OPC.

I am datalogging with the old Compact Field Point 2020. NI says that the largest Compact Flash card that it supplies and knows the unit supports is 512MB. However I would like to know if it would support larger cards, say up to 4GB. Has anyone tried this?

I assume that you are using a cFP-2020 and are talking about the removable compact flash available on this device.
National Instruments has only tested this with cards up to 512MB, but it is a standard compact flash interface so it should work with larger. Take a look at the following two documents, which explain this and the type of cards used.

Search on the custom field in Product doesn't work

Hello everyone!
Lately I was configuring additional custom field for product header and succeed. Then I wanted to add this field as a search criteria for product search and I followed help on help.sap.com and note 1026956. Here are the steps I did:
1. I've extended structures CRMT_PRIL_QUERY_ADVSEARCH_PROD and CRMT_PRIL_QUERY_ADVSEARCH_IOBJ with my custom attribute.
2. I went to Master Data->Products-> Basic Settings ->Add Attributes to Search Structure and added my custom attribute there.
3. Then I found out that it's not enough and I should perform additional steps not included in note and help. I did these steps suggested by Shanthala Kudva in thread [Can't enable the extendable set type attributes in product search UI|Can't enable the extendable set type attributes in product search UI;.
After that I was able to configure UI and see the search criteria, but when I try to search using custom field I get error message: "Search criteria PRODUCT_ANKER.ZCAT_NUMBER in scenario CL_CRM_PRSEARCHSCENARIO_GETLST not included in tool/filter"
How to find out the reason of this behavior? Did I miss something in configuration?
P.S. Set type called ZPRODUCT, attribute ZCATNUMBER. In structures appended component called ZCAT_NUMBER with component type ZCATNUMBER. In table CRMC_PRSEA_ATTR the record has the attributename ZCAT_NUMBER, attribute_id ZCATNUMBER. Maybe I messed up with that?

I know this is an old post, but currently i am facing the same issue of not being able to see my custom fields in the BSP Component Workbench.
I tried to follow all steps maintained in SAP Note # 10269656 & 1541480, but no luck.
Can you please tell me what do you mean by "Should not add the extended attributes directly to Search Structure, as SAP expects the attributes to be in APPEND structure"? Can you please let me know how the values are to be maintained in the Search structure table "CRMC_PRSEA_ATTR", which is also accessed using the IMG Meanu path "Master Data --> Products --> Basic Settings --> Add Attributes to Search Structure"

Photoshop CS5 x64 doesn't run.

I have just installed the trial version of CS5 master collection on a Win 7 and the x64 version of Photoshop doesn't run and displays the error code (0xc000007b).
I have the uninstalled both CS4 and CS5 suites and reinstalled the later and the problem continues.
My computer has the folowing sistem requirements:
Intel core i7
6 GB ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 330M with 1 GB.
windows 7 home premium.
So i guess it should be running.
Can anyone please help?

Given: You know Photoshop CS5 x64 works on other Windows 7 x64 systems, so something's wrong with YOUR setup.
You have two avenues you can travel:
1. You can try to modify your existing system configuration so that it will start to run Photoshop CS5 x64.
2. You can start afresh with Windows, make Photoshop CS5 one of the first apps you install, then install the other things that you have chosen to make up your Windows environment and find out which one breaks CS5. Then back that component out.
You've mentioned several things upon which you have made decisions that may not be valid. For example, you mentioned shutting down the Comodo firewall and Photoshop still didn't run. Did you uninstall the Comodo firewall completely? With this kind of problem that's what it may take. Frankly, I've yet to see any valid justification for running any firewall other than the one that comes with Windows 7. Another invalid assumption is that just because the computer is a few weeks old it cannot have a virus yet. I'm not saying you DO have a virus, but you could have gotten one 5 minutes after you plugged it into the internet.
As running Photoshop CS5 x64 seems important to you, I'd suggest not fooling around with your existing system configuration any longer and start afresh with suggestion 2 above.

Unable to view field point properties

Hi All,
Can anybody tell me why I could not open the field point properties in order for me to configure my modules? I am still operating on LabView 7.1 and I have used 3 express VI's. They were working before and all of a sudden, they're not. I tried opening and closing (even rebooting the computer) and still not able to open the VI properties for those 3 VI's. What's weird is that all other programs that were made before this one, they are all having the same problem as well. Pls. let me know if anyone knows anything. Attached is an image of the problem I'm getting.

So you see this error when you click on one of the Field Point Express VIs?
If so, these VIs interface with the Field Point using the NI-Field Point driver. Have you got this installed, and if so what version? I would suggest updating the driver if at all possible. The download link is here,

And I believe the latest driver 6.0.3/6.0.4 supports LV RT 7.1.
Make sure when you install the driver, you include support for LabVIEW 7.1.
Within LabVIEW 7.1 are the express VIs available on the palette? If so, do they also generate the error when you place them on the block diagram?
You say it used to work, have you since installed a newer version of LabVIEW? or updated the driver already? Without including support for LabVIEW 7.1?

Lookout Ethernet Communications to Field Point Modules

How do I monitor 'link' between the Lookout program and the Ethernet
Field Point Module. I have tried using CommFail, but it seems to only
work intermittantly. 'Link' is always present and I don't have
any problems communicating to the devices. I am just trying to
come up with a way if the cable was broken (aka - loose link) , I can
detect and display this in Lookout.
I am using Lookout 5.0.

The best approach may be to implement a "heartbeat" signal yourself -- use a digital output and toggle it on the FieldPoint, and monitor it in Lookout. Or setup a counter and monitor that. Search this Lookout forum for other heartbeat options in Lookout.

Can FTP-access to field point log file interrupt the running program?
We have a problem where our factory process control program on a Field Pointer suddenly stops the process. We are running the development system on a PC, wich deploys the program on the Field point, with user interface on the PC. Quite often the process stops for no apparent reason. I'm not sure right now if the control program on the Field Point is still running or if it stops. We use FTP from a distant PC (over VPN) directly to the Field Point to check if the process is running, by looking for date and size of log files produced during running process. I've never opened och copied any log file during process run, because this I'm sure this would cause problems for new log entries to be written. But can the mere looking at the log folder via XP-pros ftp-functionality cause the Field Point to have problems writing data to a log file?
I'm not sure how windows XP pro handles "my network places" when it comes to FTP, it look that it keeps some kind of local copy of the folders, or at least the files opened.
Next version of the program will have only basic functionality on the Field Point, leaving logging etc. to another program on the PC, but right now we are stuck with this system.

Distribute measurment studio application with opc conntection to field point

I have written an Measurement Studio application with an DataSocket connection to an OPC Sever of an field point 1808. If I distribute this application to another computer I can't get a connection to the OPC Server of the field point. The application works fine on the developent computer of the application. On the other computer is just installed the MAX and the drivers from the Field Point CD. As well I configured the Field Point on that computer. We I browse for an OPC tag in the distibuted application I am not able to access any OPC server, even if I see them. Does anybody have an explanation for that?

Hi Daniel,
sorry that i answer you so late. I got an error like "opxproxy.dll could not be found". So meanwhile I checked the system and the opxproxy file was found in the "winnt/system32" directory. After i register the opcproxy.dll manually with the shell command " regsvr32 opxproxy..dll" everything was working fine. Normally, this file should register itself automatically.

Wrong pictures, no-shows, after editing... when running a preview or in full movie mode, iMOVIE does not show exactly the content as was provided in the project field. All files works great in iPHOTO.

Version: iMOVIE 11, 9.0.4
No new updates, 7 sept 2011.
Something is wrong with the project that I am working on.
When I add new pictures and movies, some of them will not be played in the preview or fullmode at all. Some pictures are wrongly understood by iMOVIE or there are some kind of weird errors or bugs in the program. I dont really know what the problem can be. All of the pictures and movies are imported from 2 cameras, Kodak and Canon, and they all work great in iPHOTO.
I also use tranistions, text, etc, to make the movie look good.
Here are some examples of the error, all of these picture where taken while running the preview movie. You can see the moment in the movie process by following the red line in the project field window.
1) Here you can see that it shows the wrong picture in the preview compared to the project field.
2) Here it shows the wrong picture and it also displays the wrong picture in an undesired strecthed mode.
3) Here are 2 examples of one picture that blocks the other pictures from beeing seen in the video.
What could be causing these stupid errors and bugz? Until this is solved I have stopped workoing on my movies and project, awaiting a fast fix.

Try this step:
Go to one of the problem points (or even all of the them in the Project Browser) and select it. Under the File Menu>Optimize>Large (960x540). See if will process the clips, still images and try playing it back again.
If Optimize>Large is grayed out, try pulling the clip out of the Project Browser, close iMovie. Open it up again and putting that clip back in its place. Then try to Preview it again and see if playsback properly.
Last thing to try is go to File Menu>Duplicate Project, quit iMovie. Open iMovie, go to the Duplicate Project and see if you get a working Preview from the Project Timeline.

I have a program that sends information(analog output) to lab windows cvi in the form of a text file or user input.
The program runs on the computers that I have the field point explorer and lab windows cvi installed on. In order to run the program without always installing labwindows/cvi and field point; I wanted to create an executable file that could be load on another computer.
I used the create distribution kit part of labwindows/cvi to do this.After creating the distribution kit, I then installed it
to another computer.
My user interface appears on the screen, when the user clicks on the exe. file, but no data is sent to the field point module. I know that the data is being read from the user and textfile because in it appears in the uir.
The following are some details about the problem:
1. On another computer without labwindows/cvi and field point explorer not installed - no data is sent to field point module
I know this because a current is being read on the current meter connected to field point module.
My questions are the following:
1. What are the possible reasons for the data not being sent to the field point module?
2. Do I still need to create an iak. (Installing Field point Explorer) file stored on any new computer that I install my created distribution kit file too?

1) If you do not install FieldPoint Explorer, the FieldPoint Server is not installed so there is nothing on the target computer that knows how to talk to the FieldPoint system.
2) Yes, you need an IAK file on the target computer. Assuming the settings (i.e. com port#) are identical you can simply include the iak file as part of the distribution.
3) You also need to include as part of your installer the file "fplwmgr.dll". If this file is not installed, your program will not be able to access the FieldPoint Server. Alternatively, this file is installed automatically if FieldPoint Explorer detects LabWindows/CVI or Measurement Studio Development versions on the target computer or if you choose to do a custom FieldPoint Explorer installation and
choose to provide LabWindows/CVI support.

Entry point errors can often be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of. If that doesn't help read on...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)

What are the limitations of using labview 8.5.1 developers suite verses a real-time module in field point applications? Can an exe. be loaded onto a field point controller or does the controlling program have to reside on a PC for example?

centerbolt is correct, you can't load a .exe or even run a program on the fieldPoint controller unless you have the Real Time module. However, that does not mean you can't use your FieldPoint bank without the Real Time module.
From LabVIEW for windows you can make calls to the fieldpoint IO using the fieldpoint read/write functions.
This program runs on the PC not the FieldPoint controller. If you loose network connection to the fieldpoint, your program will loose connection to the IO. For many data logging applications this type of arrangement can work just fine. However, if this is the only type of application you are ever going to run, then you may as well not buy the Real Time controller for your fieldpoint but the network controller only.
If your application requires more reliability, and/or greater determinism than can be achieved by running a program on windows, then you should use the LabVIEW Real Time module and develop a program that can run down on the FieldPoint controller independent of windows.

How to use the FP-DO-AC120 module on Field Point?

Hi,
I am trying to use a FP-DO-AC120 (discrete output module) as a relay to switch of an equipment I control via Field Point 2000. This FP-DO-AC120 is connected to a FP-TB10 terminal base along with some other modules. When I try to use the “write” function on MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer), it doesn’t allow me to do so and the “this item is read only” pops up. Checking the channel type to where the module is plugged in it shows that is a discrete input channel. I’ve tried to change it to a discrete output type, but when I do so, the status of that slot is “empty base or terminal”. I don’t understand what is going on here. Could anyone please advise?

The New Field in the FBL5N/FBL1N doesn't appear

Hi guys,
I created an APPEND STRUCTURE with the NAME1 field in the table RFPOS and through the transaction FIBF an Event that calls a Function and move the Name of Customer or Supplier according to the transactions FBL5N or FBL1N.
This field, NAME1, should appear in these transactions when the user choices the hidden fields through the Change Layout button. But this field doesn't appear...
I debbuged the Function Module and the data have been moved. (It works...)
Please, someone did it before and could help me to solve it?
Why doesn't the Field NAME1 appear? What could I do??

The new fields have to be appended in the structure RFPOSX too, and then you need to run the program RFPOSXEXTEND in order to add the new fields in layout structure RFPOSXEXT
