Hello mac users,
please help me... I can't copy to Applications any larger *.app file. I try drag Ableton (live.app ~120mb) or Mailplane.app (76mb) to Application dyr, but I saw message: "the operation cannot be completed an item with the name "..." already exists". But i had never install this apps before.

So, you are dragging the application from it's folder on the disk image directly to your Applications folder. If that's the case and you still get this message, have you ever installed that application before?
If it was installed at some time in the past, look in /Library/Receipts to see if there is a .pkg or a .bom for it. If you find one, delete it and try again.
EDIT: I'm downloading ableton now to see what's going on... OK no problems here. I dragged it to my Applications folder and now have a folder named "Live 7.0.10 OS X" in my Applications folder.
Perhaps you are looking for it under the wrong name?

Are you trying to create a new Business Partner Master Data ? Or Are you trying to create a new G/L Account in Finance module .
Have you had that business partner before and was deleted ?

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

I have recently dropped Earthink as me dial-up provider. I now am using Virgin Mobile Broadband2GO. I was using Safari. I am now using Yahoo! Mail Plus. It suggested I switch to Firefox. I had an older version of Firefox (2.0.0.6) and started using it. It suggested I needed to upgrade because many of the newer web sites wouldn't work well on this older version. You can try to repair the permissions for the Firefox application files and folders.
You can also do this:

Upgraded to 13 Thinking might resolve the issue.
Was working fine up until we had "Tech" come in the office and "up grade some stuff"
then all of a sudden i started getting this message, something happened but i don't have a clue what.

I performed a clean install of Lion, then upgraded to Yosemite. Now, i am trying to restore files and programs from my backup in my time capsule but when i connect to the backup folder i receive this error message "The operation cannot be completed because the original item for "backup" cannot be found.
I previously had mavericks installed and was able to backup and restore just fine. I do believe that within the time since i last performed a backup or restore there was an update for the time capsule that i ran using my iPhone. I need a solution to this issue.

Yosemite can take a very long time to index the backup.. and it seems to be impossible in my own testing to get back beyond the latest one.
If you cannot manage a migration.. which I guess is what you are trying to do.. see if you can do a full restore to a USB drive plugged into your computer.

i have a macbook with yosemite running.I also have a wdtv live with a 1tb hdd on it.I could transfer files from my mac to the hdd over wifi with no problem till i upgraded to yosemite.It tells me when i transfer a large file the operation cannot be completed because it is in use.Small files can be transferred with no problem at all.When i transfer them through direct usb to the hdd no problem at all.What can be the solution to this problem???

I just recently downloaded Creative Cloud. I am working on a Mac OSX 10.9.5 and I downloaded Creative Cloud to use both Photoshop and Bridge. Photoshop opens and is working however, Bridge opens for 1 second and then give me the message, "Error: The operation cannot be completed", and then shuts off.
I uninstalled the program and re-installed but still the same problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Term Store issue: The operation cannot be completed. The term store may be unavailable.

Suddenly today, our term store started displaying the above error. I first noticed it when I was trying to view a managed metadata column of a list. I got the following error - "There was an error processing the request". When this happened more
than a couple of times, I tried to open the Term Store of the site and encountered the following error message - "The operation cannot be completed. The term store may be unavailable.". I've checked and the permissions are in place as outlined by
this article. However, the issue persists. The term store was working fine previously without any issues.
Any suggestions to resolve this will be greatly appreciated!

Operation can't be completed because an item of same name already exist

Hi, my first post. I've search the net for similar problems but nothing exact.
I have a Maxtor OneTouch 4 (1TB)that just returned cos I got it exchanged. While it was being exchanged, I used a Maxtor OneTouch (640GB). I had transferred everything from my 1TB to the 640GB.
Now that the 1TB's back, I want to transfer everything back. But when I try to transfer anything from the 640GB to the 1TB, an error message appears saying "operation can't be completed because an item "(of same name)" already exist."
After I click OK on the error message, only the folder gets copied over to the 1TB but NONE of its contents.
This only happens when I transfer folders. If I were to transfer individual files, e.g a picture, it's successful.
Things that do work:
- transferring files and folders from computer to both HDDs
- transferring files and folders from either HDDs to computer
So the only problem is transfers between both HDDs.
I read some thread that repairing permissions might help but when I enter Disk Utility, "Verify Disk permissions" or "Repair Disk Permissions" are both greyed out.
Does anybody have experience with this problem? Please help, the 640GB is exploding!

Yes, I had to format the 1TB to FAT before I use it.
whoa there. why did you format the drive FAT? that's an obsolete windows drive format and OS X is known to have various issues with it. this may easily account for your problems. strongly suggest you reformat the drive mac os extended.

There's nothing on the 1TB to restore because I sent it in for warranty exchange. So its brand new, nothing in it.
he was suggesting that you use the restore tab in disk utility to copy the 640GB drive to the new 1TB one. that's what I suggested too but I mentioned using superduper or CCCloner.
but you really should reformat the drive first. the only reason to use FAT is if you want to use the drive from both mac and windows. but then you'll likely have to live with the quirks of FAT and OS X.
