The Oracle BI server is not running. The repositiry had to be closed

Hi guys,
I have a OBI Standard Edition 10.1.3.4.1.
I have modify the rpd and if I try to "Check In Changes", the error appears: "The Oracle BI server is not running. The repositiry had to be closed".
In the nQServer.log this error appears:
[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=recv: (Number=10055) An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full.
Why?
The problem persist if I restart the services.
The problem only occurs if I make a change in the Business Model Layer. The changes in the Physical Layer do not generate errors.
Thank you,
Sara

Hi Sara,
Can you please let us know, if there are any other messages in the NQServer.out.log ? I just googled around with this code to hit at the following link : http://www.bookmark-master.com/socket-error-10055.html
Socket error (#10055): No buffer space available.
Analyse & Solutions:
An operation on a socket or pipe was not performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full. This error indicates a shortage of resources on your system. It can occur if you're trying to run too many applications (of any kind) simultaneously on your machine. If this tends to occur after running certain applications for a while, it might be a symptom of an application that doesn't return system resources (like memory) properly. It may also indicate you are not closing the applications properly. If it persists, exit Windows or reboot your machine to remedy the problem.
From the above information, I understand that this is a system resource issue. Can you please recheck if your system has got enough resources?
Hope this helps.
Thank you,
Dhar

  • The Applications File Server could not open the file

    Hi All,
We have shared appl_top between 2 nodes.
When running concurrent request such as active user report, i got the following error:
The Applications File Server could not open the file oXXXXX.out for read
    I have found metalink note
The Applications File Server could not open the file o611681.out for read (Doc ID 1311372.1)
The $APPLCSF are all fine and so are the permissions.
I found out if i start my primary node first, wait till concurrent manager start, then start second node, it would be ok.
    is this recommended practice?
i thought i can start up all node at the same time.
am i right to say that the last node run adautocfg is the primary node?
    Thanks in advance

I found out if i start my primary node first, wait till concurrent manager start, then start second node, it would be ok.
is this recommended practice?Do you have PCP implemented? If yes, you do not need to start the CMs on the second node and running adcmctl.sh script on the first node would be enough.
i thought i can start up all node at the same time. What exactly do you start?
am i right to say that the last node run adautocfg is the primary node? Please explain what components are running on each node.

  • I am running ver 9.0.1, but I keep getting the message that I am not running the latest version? Why? and how can I get rid of this message?

On my firefox start up screen, I get the message that I am not running the latest. It asks that I upgrade now. However, under "about firefox," I am running 9.01, the latest version. I'd like to know why I'm getting this message and how I can get rid of it.
    Thank you.

    Hi jerzyguitar,
You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.
You should try changing your home page to:
    about:home
If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
    Hopefully this helps

  • Fatal: The postfix mail server is not running

After smoothly running with no changes for literally years, the Postfix process on my OS X 10.5.8 XServe refuses to run. In the system log file I see:
    Jul 14 14:26:04 nanalytics com.apple.launchd[1] (org.postfix.master[80311]): Exited: Terminated
Jul 14 14:26:04 nanalytics postfix/postfix-script[80489]: fatal: the Postfix mail system is not running
However, I'm unable to determine exactly what the problem is. There's no additional information in the log files that I've been able to find. Any suggestions as to how I should go about troubleshooting this? I've spent most of the day so far with nothing to show for it...

    Some problem here.
    Any solutions?
    Kind regards,
    Robert.

  • I cannot update beyond Firefox 8.0. I am running Win 7 and keep getting a message that I need to restart so a previous update can complete. I also get the message that I am not running the newest version of Firefox.

I can download FF 9.0 but not install it. The same thing happened with FF 8.0.1

Same problem here. I installed version 4.0, then removed it and tried to install 3.6. Now no version Firefox will not install. I keep getting a message that I have to restart my computer in order for updates to a previous version can be installed.
Every time I restart the computer and try to install firefox the same message keeps appearing. I attempted to uninstall the earlier version of firefox using "programs and features" in windows but the same message came up and thus I was unable to uninstall using that method.

  • Server failed to run - Reason:Server is not in the majority cluster partition

    Hi,
    my environment is Weblogic 12.1.2.
The deployment configuration is: cluster, 2 machines, 2 managed servers, 1 data source, and JMS (with uniform distributed queue).
When I'm starting the admin server + managed server on the first machine (using the node manager), while on the second machine the managed server and also the node manager are not running, the server failed to run and the error reason is : "Server is not in the majority cluster partition".
How can I enforce the server to run even if the second one is not running ? This scenario could occured because of some local problems on the second machine. My expectation is that after the second will running the whole cluster status will be good.
    Thanks,
    Yaakov

    Hi,
Just to remember the configuration: 2 managed servers configured as cluster that should be deployed on 2 different machine.
    Following summary of the tests:
         - node manager + admin server + 1 managed server running on the first machine --> server failed to init with error "Server is not in the majority cluster partition"
         - node manager + admin server + 2 managed servers running on the one machine --> servers are running without errors
         - node manager + admin server + 1 managed server running on the first  machine / node manager runs on the second machine --> server on the first machine runs without errors without the famous error ' Server is not in the majority cluster partition'.
Bottom line, seems that if the node manager is not running on the remote machine, the cluster is not in a stable state and so the single managed server failed to initialize.
Is it according the documentation / expectations ?
    Thanks,
    Yaakov

  • This server does not have the module needed for interpreting traces

I wan to use the Trace Control function of the Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant. I specifically want to look at the transactions of a particular user. When starting the function I get the message, "This server does not have the module needed for interpreting traces." I find nothing to tell me what the module is or where to get it.
Specifically, I have a Macintosh user (bigwig in my organization) that insists on using Apple's 10.6 Calendar program, and constantly complains that his calendars are different between his 3 Macs and his iPhone. He claims to have put a calendar item on one machine, now it appears nowhere. And I have no way of proving what is going wrong. He hates Outlook and refuses to use it, he hates Entourage and refuses to use it. The local database for Entourage kept getting fouled up to the point that we kept having to delete this account and readding it to force the recreation of the database. The database tool never fixed the problems and of course he did a lot of customization that got destroyed every time we deleted the account settings and added them back.
I really want to run the tool for a while and see if there is actually some transaction actually happening on the server side, so I would like to have these traces and be able to view them.

Just click on ok and proceed with set trace manually.

  • Discoverer Plus associate with the Oracle Application Server Infrastructure

    Hi Everyone,
I just install the Oracle BI (v 10.1.2.0.2) into my 2003 server so I could use the Discoverer Plus and Viewer. This is a stand alone BI installation (I guess, I have little knowledge about Discoverer plus or Oracle AS).
My question is how could I connect the Discoverer plus to my ODS database, so I could create report or view report.
and where to find the Oracle Application Server Infrastructure (or How do I know I have the Oracle Application Server Infrastructure?)
I read the Oracle BI Discoverer Configuration Guide, and it tell me to associate the Oracle BI with the Oracle Application Server Infrastructure to deploy the Discoverer. so I went to the BI Application Server Control page, the Infrastructure section, the Identity Management to configure the Internet Directory, so I could I have the public connection, but it didn't work.
Also do I real need the Oracle AS Infrastructure to make the Discoverer Plus work?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Kevin,
Oracle AS Infrastructure is needed only if you are implementing SSO for Discoverer or using Public connection .
Else only Oracle AS Middle tier is sufficient to work with Discoverer Plus .
Regarding "how could I connect the Discoverer plus to my ODS database, so I could create report or view report"
You need to create the End User Layer (EUL) and then grant privilege to the EUL to users who will be creating the report .
    Thanks,

    Hi Arnaud,
Yes , Oracle FileSync is a separate tool that can be used to Map folders in the web server and synchronize the files
The issue is when i was trying to create a mapping, it ask for the Web Server URL for the first time
    its format is http://<webserver>:<port>/<DAVROOT>
when I tried with my OCS server : server.domain.com
    Port: 7778
    DAVROOT: cmsdk/content or content/dav
its showing that the WebServer you entered in the URL is not a valid Web Server
NB: **** I am facing the same issue with the Oracle Messenger also..
-- How can i verify that the Oracle Web Server is up in Linux and the Web Port that is listening..?

  • The user account in which the Oracle VSS Writer Service is running does not have the DBA privileges to log in to the Oracle instance.

VSS-00011: Connection to database instance <instance_name> failed.

I have assigned ora_dba group to the user that runs the Oracle VSS Writer Service which is the only Oracle solution but still getting
the above error. Was advised to raise the issue here that it is an OS issue. Pls help

The user account cannot access Oracle Database instance. And also how do you temporarily disable security software on the server.
Have you checked what I already asked for? "Try using the user account and access the Database Instance.
That will let you see if the problem is with the user account permissions or not."
If this does not help then you can contact Oracle as suggested by Dave.

    Hi,
Note this is a 10.5 forum and so 10.6 problems may not correspond.
However, I noted the following log entry:
http://calendarserver.tap.caldav.CalDAVServiceMaker#info Setting up document root at: /Users/dincaoadm/Desktop/test
For collaboration service with wikis, the document root should be located at /Library/CalendarServer/Documents
Which leads me to suspect your iCalServer is not setup correctly for wiki/calendar service.
Before selecting calendar service in the web setup ensure the iCalServer service is running correctly.
    HTH,
    Harry
