The "other" capacity on my 3gs phone is at 8.9 GB how do I clean it out?

I assume you mean 2.9 GB, not MB; I've never seen other less that 300 MB.
"Other" data is real data that you put on your phone by using the built in apps. It is not music, not videos, not pictures and not App Store app data. It is "OTHER" meaning everything that does not fall into these categories. Such as:
email messages and attachments
Reminders
Calendar entries
Contacts
Text messages
MMS messages and attachments
Genius data
Music cover art
Operating system settings
Safari cache
bookmarks
Game Center status
Music catalog
Probably a few I've missed. There was a problem in an earlier version where deleted MMS messages left behind their attachments, but that has been fixed as of 6.1. However, old images were not deleted from Other; its just that new images were being correctly removed when you delete an MMS message.
You will find posts from people who said they recovered over 3 GB of space by just deleting old text messages.
If you want Other to be smaller you will have to keep less data on your phone; delete old MMS and texts, delete old email (especially from the "deleted" folder), clear the cache, eliminate cover art.
Sometimes "Other" includes data corruption. If you suspect this is a possibility try connecting to iTunes and click the Restore iPhone button. First restore from backup; the Other doesn't get any smaller you can Restore again and set up as New, then add your content back separately from your backup.

Apple recommends backing up the data when you're getting the battery replaced by them. So I assume that you will likely lose the data during this process.

I recently got my iPhone 5 unlocked and the other day I updated my phone to ios 7. After doing so my phone shut off and turned on and it said I had no service. I guess it completely wiped out my unlock. I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to fix it!!
How, EXACTLY, did you get it "unlocked"? ONLY the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. Anything else is a hack.

I'm using ios5 in iphone4, but the 'other' capacity in itunes is keeping increasing every time after sync the iphone4 from PC, now the 'orther' usage is 0.64G.
You are of course deleting the tunes from within the iTunes interface.
The settings that I am referring to are your device settings for the iPad. It should show in the left column of iTunes when your iPad is plugged in.
Go through your playlists and make sure that the tunes(s) are removed from any playlist. You can prevent the sync as noted above then do a sync and the iPad should update with the content from you Mac.

Sometimes when I make a call the receiving party hears a ring but neither one of us can hear the other. Is this my phone or the network I am using?
It appears to be a bug with the iphone 4S.

I was upgrading to the new operating system and my phone is now shut down. How do I get it unlocked?
Open Safari and on the menu named Safari click Preferences. In the Preferences window, click General at the top. Set "New windows open with" and "New tabs open with" to "Top Sites." You can leave the Homepage setting as it is (e.g. Google), but nothing will open to the Homepage unless you have a Home icon in the toolbar and click on it.

How do I reduce the "other" capacity in my iTunes?
In my iTunes, where it shows what is taking up space, the "other" bar is taking up the most space. How do I change that? I am not able to download any new software or apps until I have more storage.
Mine's always been my email.
Try deleting your sent log and any unnecessary emails in your inbox.
Don't forget to them delete them from the trash. -
hello I'm Manuel Cruz im in the military and i am deployed i was wonder how much it would cost to get my IPHONE 5 fixed. i crack the screen and managed to get the charge tip stuck in my phone. i was also wonder if you would fix my device or send me a new one. If your phone was damaged by you or in accidental damage, then you would be liable to pay for the repairs. Apple does not offer "loaner" phones, but if you have a credit card, they will "advance ship" a replacement to you so you can get it, then return your damaged one to them and as long as they get it back within a resonable time and it is warranty covered damage, they do not charge you for the replacement iPhone, but they do charge you a fee for the advanced replacement option (about $40-80 USD IIRC).
You can eliminate all the at by making an appointment at a local AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) and they should be able to check your iPhone on the spot. It it is covered under the warranty, they shoud replace it for free right there, and if not, they would let you know and you have the choice to make the repairs or not. -

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

My baby nephew pressed a lot of the buttons on the my mac and has caused the display to zoom into one corner. It other two corners are cut off which makes it really difficult to use the computer. I attatched and image so that you can see what I am talking about. Please help, thanks ! =)
Hold down the Control key and scroll with the mouse or keyboard. One direction zooms the other unzooms.

Connect your external drive and allow the backup to run, and the "snapshots" will be removed.

A concern we've noticing since we have updated the lastest software... Our phone keep glitching and it's moving extremely slower than usual. I have the 4s and my kids have the newer phones 5c and the 5s. Is this a on going problem and if so when is it going to be fixed because this is terrible. Very disappointed customer. I was waiting on the newer iphone for myself but if apple can't get things straighten out with software I will have to consider your competitors. I have majority apple products and so far I am hating the issues I am having. Please fix soon. Thank you.

You speak about glitches in your iPhones but unless you describe those glitches, we are unable to offer any help. You mention you are having issues but we are not psychic and cannot imagine what those issues could be. -
I Updated my 3g yesterday to ios 4, and now it says exactly what is in the title.
i have tried 3 sim cards all different networks, and one from an Iphone 4. none of them work.
is there anyway i can get this phone working again, i want to give it to my daughter.I got it from work. They said it was O2. The last one was and worked fine
It was a phone that had a cracked screen that I replaced and won't allow me to do anything until I connect to iTunes but now saying the above.
When you say it maybe locked is this the phone being locked to work at all or locked to a network? Can I resolve this myself?
