The Outbreak Filter delayed an outgoing mail for 1 hour

In there a bug in the Outbreak Filter ?
A legitimate outgoing mail was identified as a scam,               quarantined, and after one hour released from the quarantine and deliver.
Can someone explain this ?

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Copy and paste the Battery Information back here.
Also it would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7).When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.

Got it replaced last week. Turns out the dock was defective.

I was downloading the software update for ipod touch 2gen and after it was done downloading it showed that there was an error with my ipod and when i saw it was on the lockscreen loading. its been like this for 4 hours already

What did the error message say?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.

btw, i got this reply from another poster, on a similar forum, so i copied it here to see if it would work for you...it didn't for me, but it did, for many other posters:
Go to applications/utilities and run Audio Midi Setup. Click the Builtin output link in the left pane click the down arrow next to the right-mast element after "Format" and change to something else, then back to what you originally had there. All pent-up sounds will come rushing through your speakers and you'll be OK with Mail sounds until it happens again. This worked for me in OS X 10.7 Lion; the problem seems to have been fixed in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Good luck!

My iPhone 5 delays texts being received for an hour and sometimes days at a time. What can I do to fix that?

So I have had the iPhone 5 since the day it came out in September. I have noticed, randomly, it will delay texts from individuals and in group messages. It has delayed for an hour or more, and more than once it has delayed for more than a day. I have looked at the sent message time and it says 8:52am but I am receiving it at 9:30am? Or once it kept ringing for like a minute straight as all the messages from a group message came in from two days prior, they have the date they were sent but they don't get to me until much later than needed. I have no idea why it does it either. Any help?

I am having the same problem on my iPhone 5 16gb on Verizon. I did a fresh restore from scratch twice and my messaging is extremely slow/buggy it freezes mid text, mid sending, while opening a photo received photo or sent photo in messaging app. Also I have had the phone just refuse to turn on until I wait for like 1 minute and keep trying. Another issue with the messaging app is that sometimes the messaging app will chime in as a new message is received minutes after I have already read and replied to it.
Do I have a lemon piece of hardware or is this potentially a software bug affecting more users?

How can I change my name in the "from" line on my out going mail..I've tried everything?

What if the Name in Mail preferences, account settings is greyed out? How/where can I change it? It is correct in System Prefernces, Mail contacts and calenders and in the iCloud setting in System Prefences.
The problem is in the mail account preferences!

ICal icon on my Mac Book Air displays a circled number at the upper right corner as does Mail for new emails - how do I find out what item(s) that number is referring to? And why does it show up on the Mac Book Air and not my 4S iPhone?

A circled number appears in the upper right corner of the iCal icon on my Mac Book Air. What does it mean? How do I resolve it? Why doesn't it appear on my 4S iPhone via the iCloud?

That number means that you have an event invitation. Use iCal>View>Show Notifications to choose what to do with the notification. Since OS X 10.7.2 is required for iCloud integration, I am not surprised that there are anomalies between the iPhone and the MacBook Pro.

See if this helps .... Reset the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider bar - let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Then check your emails.

Why Could I Not Receive Mail for ~20 Hours?

I'm new to Mac, but I've jumped right in - three Macs purchased in the past 6 months.
I'm using Mail, synched to .Mac (I love .Mac too).
Last night e-mail worked fine. Today I see that I have received no new e-mails (not possible given my work). No changes made between the time it worked and the time it didn't. After searching these forums for a while I instead load .Mac into a browser window - lots of new messages.
After an hour of working through my .Mac inbox all of a sudden the Mail app decides it can indeed download all new messages, including my new work.
All that changed is that I worked the .Mac account for a while.
Mail is set to check for new e-mail every 5 minutes.
This isn't the first time this has happened, and I'm curious as to what the cause is and if there is anything I can do about it.

Welcome to the Discussions.
While I cannot be sure about your situation, I can testify to the fact that .Mac has been a bit random, lately, in offering new messages, and then many of them can be quite delayed. Since the account does not fail in the regular check for new mail, I can only conclude that there have been some problems at the server end of things, and there may be little you can do.

Network drives have significant delay if not accessed for 1 hour

I’m moving our file server from Netware to Windows Server 2012. I’ve setup a test share. While Netware never gave us any delays in accessing the drive, our test group immediately started complaining that our network drives “would not come up right
away”.
We’re hosting the share on a Server 2012 box and I used both Windows 7 (as that’s the standard in our office) and 8.1 to test the issue. I noticed that the problem shows itself if a user hasn’t accessed the drive for more than an hour. The effects are
also exaggerated on Windows 7: if a user hasn’t used the drive, it takes on average 25 seconds to open the drive. This is lessened somewhat with Windows 8, which either doesn’t have the problem or has a delay of 5 seconds to open the drive. This is an improvement,
but it’s still not acceptable considering we had *no* delays with Netware.
The first thing I surmised was a problem with the network drivers on my test machines, so I updated them. It didn’t affect the issue at all.
So then I assumed the problem was coming from some sort of reconnection issue from the end machine to the server, so I attempted to follow the fixes located at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297684 in order to keep the connection alive indefinitely. This had
no effect. The delays were just as long as they had been prior to making any changes.
I’m beginning to run out of ideas as to why our test network drive has these delays. Thanks in advance for any insight you all might have.
edit: Upon further testing, I have the following information:
- HD spindown times on the server are set to 0 mins, so there is no spin-down occuring.
- I haven't been able to find any useful information in the server's event logs.
- There is no third-party software installed on the server.
- There are no extra services running on this server. Just the file share.
- My network provider setup is as follows: NetWare Services >> Microsoft Remote Desktop Session Host Server >> Microsoft Windows Network >> Web Client Network

The issue may be due to the SMB protocol between client and server. Please refer to the thread below to add some registry keys to force SMB2.0 to refresh the screen quicker.

I was able to download 10.8.5 but have been stuck on the install screen with "two minutes" remaining for an hour now. I'm afraid to hold the power button and shut it off. What can I do to resolve this? :[

What can I do! I know servers are busy but if its installing right now before the restart it means its finished downloading from apple servers so I don't understand why it has been installing with two minutes remaining for a really long time now :[ I'm afraid ill lose all my files if I do a hard turn off.

You may have no choice. If you hear no disk activity, you can hold down Command-Control-power button to force a restart. It should pick up where it left off.
No backup is always risky.

My iPhone 4 stopped receiving texts, my power button is broken, so l went to settings and reset all settings. it has been stuck on the apple logo and loading bar screen for 12 hours

I just want to be able to use my phone, l thought maybe the battery was too low for it to finish loading so l plugged it in over night and it hasn't moved at all. What should l do?

Take it to an Apple store to be evaluated; without a working power button, there is no further troubleshooting you can do.
