On linux/windows environment, can we assume that the Oracle Services would always be run by Oracle software owner account?
The owner for $ORACLE_HOME would always be Oracle software owner account?

While not necessarily true, I would accept it as an axiom, if only to save you from issues later when you try to relink any executables owned by the oracle owner.

Before I transfer files from my PC to the new imac should I load office for Mac and parallees? Will this mean I have to open the new account on my imac first and thus have two user accounts when I transfer the PC? I would prefer to only have one account.

IIt was in my mind to load office then transfer. After to load paralels and transfer my windows system. I have a new copy of office for Mac plus paralels PC to Mac transfer version 8. As this is my first mac (I have ipads and iphones) I am unsure of what to do. Also to confuse matters I use a windows laptop as my sync machine for the phones and ipads (i do have a cloud account with backup) can I transfer both machines to my new imac? I will have a 1tb fusion drive + 2tb time capsule although I only have less than 400GB of data on both machines. Hope this is not too confusing for everyone but I am looking forward to sorting this mess out by just using the one machine.

Use the Office for Mac and ignore using Parallels for that. If you have PC only apps you have to run that are MS Windows only then consider Parallels. Just transfer your main PC, using Migration Assistant. If you don't know how then simply read over Pondini's article called Lion or Mountain Lion Setup Assistant tips and look for the section on migrating from a PC. Millions have done what you are about to, it's far from leading edge these days, if you go to an Apple Store to purchase they will offer this as a service, something you might be interested in.

I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed. Hey John,
For the 9606 there is a Real-Time clock (RTC) onboard that will use a battery to keep time even if the sbRIO is powered off. Please see the specification manual. http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/E065536DC595BDD886257C2E00704610
Once youve set the time the RTC will keep ticking away while powered and when powered off the battery will keep only the RTC powered. So on the next boot the time is kept because of the RTC. You'll need to connect a battery to the RTC VBat line documented in the specification.

Turn off the option for users whether to sync mobile or network accounts?

Hi i have 40 users using mobile accounts, with no hassle for the last year as they were tied to the same machines. but this year they have to have the need to use which ever machine is available. The problem then is it keeps asking them whether to sync to mobile account or network account. They should only have a mobile account so i'm not really sure why its asking me? is there a way of turning off their network accounts or just forcing it to only sync mobile account? so confused... (just to clarify i don't want any of their accounts running off the server itself, i just want it to sync back to the server on login and log off which ever machine they are on. I'm just a little worried as i seem to remember someone choosing sync network account and it got rid of all their documents and files.

The problem was an error in naming the computer group. Renaming it solved the problem.

It is not two owners for 2 tables but twotables and two owners.
Login as Mano
do a
insert into dept values (blahh..blahh..);
commit;Now login as scott
select * from dept;You will see the difference.
What you need to understand is there are physically two tables owned by two different users with the same name.

I'm actually trying to find out about using screenshots of Adobe software. I've done some Premiere Pro tutorials and I'd like to monetize them on YouTube but their conditions state "You can monetize videos showing software user interface only if you have a contract with the publisher or you have paid a licensing fee".
I'm hoping that Adobe's Permissions and trademark guidelines (http://www.adobe.com/misc/permissions.html) would be enough but there's a problem there too. Adobe's conditions state "Your use must contain the entire screenshot. You may not use portions of the screenshots". That's hopelessly restrictive - obviously I want to be able to zoom in and show closeups of the interface. There's a form to apply for special permission (http://www.adobe.com/misc/pdfs/PermissionRequestForm.pdf) but it's not practical (e.g. every single usage must be renewed annually). I can't believe that all those tutorial producers on YouTube are jumping through these hoops to get the right permissions.
So what is everyone doing? Just ignoring the whole permission thing and hoping for the best?

Unable to do adjustments for PO Receipt Accrual in Oracle Projects

We are working on Release 11.5.10.
The Allow Adjustments flag for the transaction sources in Projects for receipt accruals (Oracle Purchasing Receipt Accruals) and For Supplier Invoices (Oracle Payables Invoice Variance) are not updatable. Since we are using the Accrue on Receipt option, so only the Invoice variance amount is tranferred to Oracle Projects from Accounts payables. There are situations when the cost gets booked to a wrong task or wrong Project. In such case the adjustments to receipt accruals and Invoice Variance needs to be done. But the same cannot happen in Oracle projects without enabling the Allow Adjustments flag, which is not updatable in Release 11i. How can we make any adjustments to receipt accruals and Supplier Invoices matched with the PO Receipts in Release 11i?
Appreciate any Pointers on this.

In PO receiving form, enter a transaction of type Correction or Return to Receiving, with minus the quantity you want to adjust. This will be a negative transaction to the original project and task.
Then update the PO line distribution to the new project and task. Finally enter another receipt / deliver transaction to the new project and task.
Run the PRC: Interface Supplier Cost. This process will create new transactions in the old and new projects. The new transactions are linked to the same PO, same line number as the original PO Accrual transaction.
If the supplier invoice have not yet entered in AP, then entering a supplier invoice, matching to the PO will get the variances charge to the new project.
Other wise, you might want to reverse the matching, and reenter the match to the new distribution.
You could also enter a MIX supplier invoice which has the amount as zero. In such invoice enter a negative distribution line to the old project, and a positive distribution line to the new project.

Alternatively - would there be a simplier way to code this?? (I have only been writing SQL for a few months).
