The "page forward/page back" buttons are disabled, why?
The forward/back page button in the top,left side of my tool bar is grayed out...I am unable to move forward or back a page.
This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.
First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on. -
When I click to follow a link from one of my home pages, the back button becomes disabled. This has the effect of "disappearing" the first page and "stranding" the link I traveled to.
The only work around is enter the site again. Subsequent clicks from the page don't cause it to disappear again.I would suspect a slightly incompatible addon of causing that to happen.

What are your Quiz settings: can the user have more than one attempt, do you allow Backward movement, Review possibility etc? Is the uploading to a LMS (which one), what were the Manifest settings?

The little forward and back arrows are gone
I don't know what they're called. Up in the left corner under the red/yellow/green dots, there are the arrows that allow you to move back or forward between webpages.
Well, those 2 arrows have disappeared. Where did they go? What did we do? How do we get them back?!
ThanksHmmm... I don't know how they disappeared, but you should be able to get them back by going under the "View" menu and selecting "Customize Address Bar." This will display available buttons that you can drag to where you want them.

The Forward and Back buttons are dimmed and don't work, and "Search Bookmarks and History" is in the URL bar. Also, I sometimes find blank pages with "Search Bookmarks and History" in the URL bar after visiting some websites.

I like to be able to navigate backwards and forwards without having to scroll down and find where I was previously. In Firefox Four, when using the forwards and back buttons, the page will automatically return to the top of the page. Is there any way to change this setting in Firefox Four to prevent it from doing that?
Thanks for the response. No Time Machine, but I probably have a backup from a few months ago on an external hard drive. :/ I guess it'd have useful history, but not if it overwrote the last 3 months or so of Awesome Bar, that might not be so great.

just loaded the new version of firefox. i went into "library" and told the computer to forget the mp3tube toolbar and it got rid of all the toolbars and also shows no search engine in new tabs, and has no page back or page forward arrows in top left corner of screen. how do i at least get the page back and forward function enabled?
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Full Screen mode with all toolbars hidden.
* Press F11 to toggle full screen mode (Firefox/File > Full Screen)
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Linux, Windows)
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

How to get the page navigation buttons back at the bottom of the page?
After upgrading to Acrobat X I discovered that there is only one option for the page navigation buttons - at the upper left. I'm mystified as to why they put them there. Most users are right-handed. With the buttons at upper left it's awkward to reach up there, across the page, with the mouse cursor for every page turn (yeah, I know you can use the PgUp/PgDnkeyboard keys, but that requires taking your hand off the mouse every page turn).
What I really want is to be able to put a copy of these buttons back down at the bottom center of the page, which was an option in previous versions. Is there some way to get those back at the bottom?Hi terpenoid,
Have you tried Read Mode yet ( under the View menu)? It displays a nivagation bar at the bottom of the PDF with next/previous page, zoom in/out, etc.

Once the menu bar is restored, you can use the Toolbars entry in the View menu to restore other toolbars such as the navigation toolbar. -
Using Tiscali Webmail with Firefox 6. If I try and delete an email the Ok and Cancel buttons are disabled and nothing happens, have to use F5 to take me back. IE8 works so is this a compatibility issue?

On Win 7 I have lost the use of the forward and back button - both are greyed out - except on this page ??? when I leave this page the greyed out appears on all tabs or links in use. I am using Firefox 3.6.16. To get to this page I have 7 tabs open at present and all ( except this one - odd! ) are greyed out.

I I tell you the answer, I suppose it means you'll be able to spend less time on JavaScript and more time on Java, so here goes:
Open your page in a new window using window.open(...). This JavaScript takes lots of parameters, such as the page you want to display in the window, as well as settings for hiding the toolbar (which includes the forward/back buttons).
Do a search on the net for window.open for full syntax. I think you can modify the properties of the current window if you want to stay in the same window, but can't remember the syntax.
Note you can also disable the right mouse button by defining the following function:

after installing firefox 4 beta 7 any customization of navigation bar breaks the forward and back a page buttons they stop working and and restoring the default buttons option it still doesn't work even in the safe mode and the text in menu buttons looks glassy
What I found was that anytime I installed one of the beta's, as soon as I tried to customize the bars and hit the "small icons" checkbox from customize that I would no longer be able to have the round shaped foward back buttons but only square (rectangle) small buttons.
To get those round ones back, but never again to the right of the "File - Edit - etc" bar, all I did was move all the buttons down to the navigation or another bar below as I have the space.
The problem still occurs that anytime I attempt to put them back up top beside the file etc options they go back to those small rectangle buttons :(
