The perfect notebook

I am looking for support in my quest for the perfect notebook.
The problem is: it does not yet exist. However, we are getting close.
Take the new unibody casing and build a 12 inch MacBook or MacBook Pro, put in the old MacBook Pro keyboard - it just looked and felt way more classy. Give it a mate display, 2 USB ports, Firewire , and a good battery. All the rest can stay as with the new MacBook.
You should get a 1,7 kg notebook, which does not supply you with a 13 inch mirror but spares you headaches and allows you to plug in your old (Apple featured) firewire devices - see the relevant topics in this forum for further details...
Any more suggestions? We should not make it to hard though, to not be kept waiting too long.
Any kind of official answer, though not hoped for, would of course be an honour.

You are right of course - slim hope for getting heard up there. But I'm getting a bit frustrated with keeping an eye open for the new macbook that might replace the old 12inch Powerbook.

I have tried the printer with my laptop (not updated) and everything is fine. It's just the beautiful 27" Imac that can no longer print.

Might be a corrupted printer preference file ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move the com.apple.PrinterPrefs.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac, restart the printer...

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.

The Perfect Setup?

Hello, I will upgrade some of my gear soon & wanted to take this opportunity to set up a home network.
What is "The Perfect Setup" ?
Gear at my disposal is/will be:
MacBook
iMac
1 x 2GB external HDD
3 x 1GB external HDD
Apple TV
iPhone
iPad2 (soon)
Wifi Router.
I'd like to be able to share my music/movies/podcasts across my devices and/or stream them to my TV.
I'd like to be able to sync some of my music/movies/podcasts across to my MacBook when I travel, knowing that my MacBook HDD is 500GB and that I can't fit it all in.
In fact, I want to be able to have all my files on my external HDD's. I think this makes the most sense.
So there you have it, what is the perfect setup for this? How would you go about setting up a home network with all this?

Get him an Airport Extreme. This way he will not run into any of the problems with third party cheap routers that so many in these boards have. Also on the Extreme you can run the new N frequency for the fastest wifi sharing and get a power USB2 hub and you can plug the two externals hard drives to it, easily.

Dont use the quantity field same as that it come from interface Fm declare one field for quantity in the global settings and write the logic to pass the value to that field and pass that global value to the particular texts...same is the case with currency fields also.

You need a PDF editor, at the high end use Adobe's Acrobat Professional, at the low end use the editing features in Preview (pre-loaded on your iMac). However you should probably look at the Mac App Store, you will find many of PDF editing applications. You simply need to find one that suits your needs.

if u use 'at-new' statement , basically it dont pick first record of the itab where as 'on chage of' can pick from first record.
all these control brake statements can work with header line except 'on change of' event.

Performance Management: The perfect UI.. and hidden PM info

I have 2 questions for you which relate to performance management, but not in a technical sense.
1. What kind of information are you looking for in regards to PM which cannot be found in the docu?
Back-ground, in the past I used to Blog on PM topics and currently I am considering to pick it up again. So, what PM topics would you see discussed? More process wise, or technical.. or rather just have me shut up
2. What is the perfect PM UI?
Everyone hated the BSP UI, not sexy and then all those columns next to eachother.. that horizontal scrolling.. Then Webdynpro UI, well.. it looks better.. but everything is below eachother.. why can't I put columns next to eachother.. Pre-defined.. Oh, I love the UI, it looks good.. but why can't I adjust it to my process?
So, what features are you looking for in your perfect PM UI, if you have a top 3 how would it look like. and what do you hate the most about the current UI';s.
Based on the response (on question 1) I would make my second question topic for the first blog entry.

Coming to what I hate the most first.
1. Higher level manager - Why does the Higher level manager have to check documents using ESS and not MSS? Its really the biggest pain convincing the clients on this. I would really like SAP to look seriously into this and provide iviews in MSS.
2. For testing purposes, would like SAP to change the process of SAVE->RELEASE->CREATE DOC-->TEST ->DELETE>CANCEL RELEASE..this is a real pain area.
Coming to what topics we can have for blogs,
1. Technical details on iviews. This is one area where most of the consultants struggle.
2. Workflow related configuration in PM.
3. Process wise, how to tackle more particpants. We have, appriaser, appraisee, part appraiser, and say higher level manager. Now, how do we include an extra participant like HR business partner in your document. This is one area where we would like a discussion.

Have you looked in your country's iTunes store to see if it's available ? If it is then you should be able to buy and download it.
If it isn't available in your country then you can try requesting that it be added, but unless the rights-holder for your country agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

Terible here, i'm using Chinese Font for my website...most of the Text Box were out of Justified unlike the perfect justified on English Font.
Sorry i hope you understand what i'm trying to descript above.
I'm wondering now, Is there any specific Chinese Font to solved the Justified issue?
Now, everything looks fine in iWeb but when view it in Safari or any browser, there'll be out of Justified.

O great sages, please bestwo unto me the perfect terminal.
After using every terminal conceived from gnome-terminal to st, i still haven't found 'the one' that I will settle down and marry. This is due to a number of reasons, but I feel like my needs are not too outlandish. Yet it seems that right when I've found the perfect one there is something horribly wrong lurking underneath.
This is what I need and use daily:
dwm
irssi (alt + 1,2,3, etc )
finch
ssh
various other primarily-console-based programs
the ubiquitous "lightweight" feel on any application
true type fonts
This is what I'd like:
real transparency, but pseudo will (and does) suffice.
clickable links
full clipboard support.
I know the urxvt-lovers are going to sound off on this immediately so I'll make a disclaimer: I use urxvtd/c as my primary terminal. Yes, I like it. Yes, I know it has many of these features. It does, however, lack the ability to cooperate with xcompmgr in any way, and it doesn't work with finch, which is very important to me.
So my question is this: what terminal can I use? What will work with finch and irssi's Alt+1,2,3 window feature (this is the most important)? Xterm doesn't seem to support this feature, nor does it even have pseudo-transparency. Will I ever find true transparency in dwm? Basically, I want to dump urxvt because of the xcompmgr issue and some other things that annoy me, but I can't because of the console-tabbed browsing I've become accustomed to. What to do?
Any help is appreciated

sand_man and XFire - I've tried those two in the past and am really not a fan of vte terminals in general. Although I've been known to use terminator perhaps more than I should (I'm pretty anti-GNOME anything)
hbekel: Thank you! that works nicely. Seems as if xterm is a front-runner for me again.
B and mythus: I'm not a fan of the Xfce menubar or the dependencies it pulls, but it is nice, and worth another look.
jac and nixpunk: My arrow keys don't work properly in finch. I've seen the help floating around about exporting TERM in .bash_profile, but I never could get it to work. And also, isn't exporting the value $TERM bad?
tomk: irssi works fine for me in urxvt as well, including alt+1,2, etc.
Aprz and JohannesSM64: unfortunately this isn't the problem. I use Mod4Key as my meta in dwm (gotta love using the Windows key for THAT!) The problem only arises in xterm. But hbekel fixed the issue with his XTerm*metaSendsEscape: True tip.
moljac024 and sHyLoCk: Whenever i run xcompmgr with urxvt, the terminals go blank. I'm sure it's just a tweak in the .Xdefaults file then. I'd like to discontinue use of urxvt if possible, though.
Now my only question is this: Is there any way to get TRUE transparency in dwm with xterm? I'd like to use xterm exclusively if possible becuase of the easy config in .Xdefaults and the stock-standard feel of it. So yes, I'm weird. But I can't be the only one with these hopes and dreams.
In Openbox, the devilspie trick works nicely on any program I wished to provide transparency via transset(-df). In dwm, devilspie doesn't work. Anyone have any tips and tricks?
