The pointer will automatically put itself

When I'm on a new page on the internet, the pointer will automatically put itself in the beginning in the little search window that many sites have which means when I want to go down on the page, I can't.
I need to click somewhere on the page, nothing in particular, to release the pointer. This is very annoying since it happens every time I click on a new page.
How can I disable this ?

Re #2 - try pressing Command-. (that's Command-periodkey). That's a common global in Apple OS's to tell a program to 'stop it'. The Esc key may also work for this purpose.
Re #1 - haven't experienced that issue. You might try going to Safari's Preferences (Preferences in the Safari menu) > Advanced and uncheck the item "Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage", but I don't know if that will fix it.

You could try to use a motion sensor - in a do-it-yourself store you can buy motion sensors that turn on the lights when a burglar approaches the property. Connect this sensor to the remote control of your camera instead of to a light.
Probably you can buy ready-made motion sensitive remote controls, the photographers here will know. You would need this kind of remote control for wildlife photography.

Is there a way to integrate Amazon to Cold Fusion so the persons products entered in the site will automatically be added to the amazon store as well?

If Amazon has an API to add products to an Amazon store (and I'm fairly sure they do), you would just have to write code to submit your products via that API (probably using CFHTTP calls).

  • Since i updated lion the pointer will not show contents when i hover the pointer over the item....

Since i updated lion on mac pro the pointer will not show contents whil hovering the pointer over the item.... ???

If you use extensions like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flashblock</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.<br />
You can see the installed Firefox extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions".
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • My apple mouse is not working.  The pointer will not move on the screen and it keeps turning off.

My apple mouse is not working.  I can get it to connect but it will not move the pointer.  Left and right click is working, scrolling, just cannot move the pointer.  Also, I have replaced the batteries (numerous times) but the green power light turns off after a few minutes.  Any suggestions?

How about clean up LED hole of mouse?

I have an ipod touch and it will not connect to my wifi.  It has in the past but now it will not even give me the option to connect?

Did you just update to BUGGY OS 4.x???
All the updates starting with OS 4.x have completely screwed up most iPod Touch', especially older models like Gen 2 and 3.

Fluctuating WiFi signal no matter how close you are to the AP.

(I am one of many thousands affected!) Look at older threads by searches of "Fluctuating WiFi", Terrible Battery Life, for the Touch and iPhone.

Ah, I see what's going on. Thank you for adding your troubleshooting information. It helped narrow it down.
You should always pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs, such as this adware. Be very careful what you agree to install.<br>
Adware gets on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this browser hijacker.
You can use the below steps to revert back to adware-less Firefox.
    1) <u>Reset Prefs</u>
*Navigate to '''about:config''' in your Address Bar
*Press the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to proceed
*Search for <b>trovi</b> and reset all prefs that pull up by right clicking > Reset
    2) Remove any programs that you don't recognize or remember installing from your Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program)
    3) Remove any extensions that you don't recognize or remember installing from Firefox.
    *<b>Firefox 29 and above:</b>(Press the menu button ([[Image:new fx menu]] > Add-ons > Extensions)
    *<b>Firefox 28 and below:</b>(Go to the orange Firefox button > Add-ons > Extensions)
    4) Download ADW Cleaner to wipe out any remnants of the adware.
    5) it looks like user.js is currently active in Firefox. The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can delete a possible user.js file and delete also the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to the profile folder below:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder
    or
*Go to '''about:support''' and click Show Folder next to Profile Directory.

  • Will the dab will be put into new phones like on n...

Will dab will be only available in new phone can't the headsets pick up dab stations so if they can why don't they just issue a new update on phones like on nokia 5230

Old phones will never be able to receive DAB via a software update. The phones do not contain the necessary hardware.
Currently Nokia does not produce any phones with DAB, I don't think any of the major manufacturers have adopted the standard yet.
Also I've yet to see anyone make a small headset with DAB built in that can be powered by phones.
So at the moment if you want DAB you'll need to buy a DAB radio. If you want to use the phone it will either have to be FM or internet radio.

  • The installer will automatically continue when these conflicting application are closed.

After I download and install the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 I encounter this problem.
What is that conflicting application and how to close it?
    Thank you!
    - czAr

    I did as you suggested.
When I got the Install Adobe Flash Player screen saying "Installer will automaticallycontinue when .......closed", I closed all iexplorer processes and after closing the last one this screen changed to say"Installation complete" and "DONE".
But the flash player had not been installed!
There are two things that may have a bearing on this problem. When I first started trying to download the player I was requested to allow "pop-ups" by Mcafee. This requirement now has disappeared. Secondly when I go to control panel to check if Flash player has been installed I see that Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX is listed as a programme but with no size.
Dont know if this is of any use

  • About the music will automatic stop...

I have a question about the iPod touch 2nd Generation.
Will it stop the music when the earphones connected apart?
    Does everyone have this situation?
Can I turn off this function, or it's a default setting can not changeable.
Thanks a lot for your answer or advice. Thanks.

When playing music on a disconnected iPod touch with the headphones inserted, pulling the headphone plug completely out of the headphone jack will cause music playback to halt.
This has been an undocumented feature of iPods for many generations, although some previous models would not consistently halt playback.

  • I believed the " It will automatically detect...and recommend the best edition(s) of Firefox for you. Thus downloaded 12, lost FF that I had, now what?

    on a Mac 0S X Version 10.4.11
I'd like FF and my bookmarks back...

Thank you, Sir. Your answer helps. Disappointed by believing in the FF website, and the general abandonment of so many viable Mac's... I did backup my bookmarks to my desktop but it's a .json file I don"t know how to access. Any ideas on restoring my bookmarks?

  • The pointer sets itself in the little search window

    1) When I'm on a new page on the internet and I want to go down on the page, I can't because the pointer will automatically put itself in the beginning in the little search window that many sites have which means when I click the down button, instead of going down, I see all the words I put previously (weeks, months ago) in the search window. I need to click somewhere on the page, nothing in particular, to release the pointer. This is very annoying since it happens every time I click on a new page.
How can I disable this ?
    2) This is unrelated I guess but since I'm on this forum:
On some sites that I visit, the up or down button of my keyboard doesn't work
and the up and down arrow on the right of the page doesn't work either or is very unresponsive (slow. hesitant).
On other sites everything works fine.
It also works fine in Text Edit so I rule out a keyboard problem.

    1. you'll need an add-on (like [pithHelmet|http://culater.net/software/PithHelmet/PithHelmet.php]) to disable this in safari. it is possible to disable this directly in firefox/camino.
alternatively, you can create a "focus page" keyboard shortcut through a bookmarklet. this won't be automatic, but will mean you won't have to reach for the mouse.
    2. we need more info here (like a specific url), but you're bound to run into slowly responding sites if you're really using a 400mhz computer.
